so, I was given a tank shell. Supposedly it's a training shell for an Abrahms, this might not be the right thread to ask in, but does anyone have info on it?
Because they're pretty shitty
But at least they are better than deactivated guns? Right?
From what I've heard, it's easier to hit your target with a deactivated gun than it is with an early model Mini-14...
Then buy a new version?
I have a Mini-14 that's about 2 years old, but we haven't used it enough to really say how good it is. What a waste of $800.
If you use a Mini 14, you can be as cool as George Clooney! [sp]Too bad the gun misfires and explodes in the hands of an assassin in the movie.[/sp]
For the price of a mini-14 there are many better alternatives. (that may not even be an AR.)
I can get a Norc AR and a half-decent cheap optic for the same price as a Mini-14.

Seen that one a few times already, the NFA is just one of many laws that need to be repealed or amended though. If the NRA and all the other 'pro-gun/pro-second amendment' groups weren't so useless they'd it to the Supreme Court along with the '68 GCA and the MG amendment of the '86 FOPA.
It's my belief that the NRA are becoming so nutty and going outside their realm of politics (as in not related to guns), scaring off more moderate and liberal voters/members It's similar to what happening in Australia at the moment with the Shooters and Fishers party in NSW, they're going outside their realm and showing their colours as right wing conservatives
Going to do an AR-15 build soon. If anybody has any links to any useful information that would be greatly appreciated. especially because I am new at this. Thank you.

It's a shame because we need them, we really do. If they were doing what they are supposed to be doing by fighting FOPA (Which was their own fucking fault by the way) and all the other unconstitutional laws which have been put into law, hell yeah I'd be all for renewing my membership.

It started out as people wanting to stop corporate corruption, then they started expanding to all this other bullshit that scared many people off, running it down the drain

Course then there is it's superior fully automatic cousin the AC556
Note how the A-team never hit anything.
The Mini-14 was used a lot in Hollywood during the 80's because it NEVER jammed while using blanks, it would just eat blanks.
Some of FOPA looks useful, the safe passage part at least.
Some of FOPA looks useful, the safe passage part at least.
Yep... shame a lot of states just ignore the safe passage clause.
I like mini-14s :C
I like mini-14s :C
I have not heard as much bad stuff about the newer models... but those old ones... good god.
I'd get one if the cheapest ones down here didn't cost a FUCKING THOUSAND EUROS. For that price I could buy an SKS and an SVT and plenty of ammo. Fuck you, Ruger. [editline]26th June 2012[/editline] Or there's the occasional good deal (600-650) that of course gets snatched by someone else because my fucking gun license still has to arrive, after two bloody months. Yes, I mad.
Well to be perfectly honest... an SKS is like a cheaper Mini 14 in 7.62x39. Especially when you mod it to take 30rnd mags.
It's funny because here most rifles have a 10rd limit anyway, so it's pointless.
Some guy challenged me to name all the guns in this picture [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/55/National_Firearms_Museum%2C_Vietnam-era_rifles.jpg[/t] And because I'm lazy I'm just going to cheat and ask you guys All I recognize in there is a M16, a M1 Garrand and a FN FAL

An AR-10 and two M16's. Not sure on that bolt gun with the scope. No M1 Garand.
