well do you want a battle rifle or an assault rifle
FAL no question, ARs you can find anywhere.
HHHNNNGGG. FALS even with a brass catcher.
Guys, I need an opinion... I started working at a gun store two weeks ago (dream job!) and I get discounts on stuff. I'm looking at either getting a FAL, or save up for something better like a higher end AR-15. The FAL is running at $600.00 in pretty good condition and AR's are $900.00. Which should I go for?
Get the FAL, AR-15s are more common than grass.
FAL-patterns are pretty common too.
FAL-patterns are pretty common too.
don't be a butt.
Go with the FAL, cheaper and prettier.
I bet they're both probably semi-auto anyway so I'd say just get the FAL, it's a little more unique.
Go with the FAL if you ever need to drop someone you'll be happy you went with the FAL because in the future burglars will be using grade IV body armor.

You see that hunky thing? Yeah, that's the FP45 Liberator Pistol, airdropped to french resistance at the end of the war.
Single shot, .45 caliber, and instruction manual that had no words.
They're coming back baby. They too are getting liberated.

FAL
you can shoot longer with it, .308.
Though it'll cost more to shoot, it's a hell of a lot more fun.

Buy a .308 kit for your AR15.
Blam

double the cost.
plus AR-15s are like desktop computers
it's almost always better to build your own (hence not a good choice for a first gun)
7.62>5.56.
slot floppies

I want one, as long as it is pretty cheap.
7.62>5.56.
because 7.62x17 is obviously so awesome
Pretty sure he meant 7.62 NATO.

Wait what really?
I'd totally buy one :v:

to bad you can hit shit with it cause it doesnt have a rifled barrel
to bad you can hit shit with it cause it doesnt have a rifled barrel
Just did some research, the repro does have a rifled barrel
not that you can hit shit with it anyway because its barrel is tiny and it fires a 45 ACP :v:
Dont give a fuck, still want one

I know, it's just bad form to call something 7.62 since there's so many cartridges with that.
because 7.62x17 is obviously so awesome
Ok, fine
7.62x51>5.56x54
.308>.223

Typically when you're talking about an FAL and you say "7.62" the other person isn't going to be thinking "Why is he talking about the Nagant revolver round?"
7.62>5.56.
Haha, that's funny, because in terms of ergonomics, it's better to use 5.56. Hundreds of nations use it, the Russians switched to the similar 5.45, and they're both reliable.

no it isnt lol
He mentioned 5.56, and the discussion was about FALs vs ARs. Hes obviously not comparing rifle rounds to pistol rounds
unless there's an FAL that fires tokarev rounds or something
Which would be totally pointless but fun as hell

I prefer 7.62 sized rifle rounds to 5.56 for range shooting and such, just a more fun round. I'm not concerned with what a military uses, but if I were put in a combat situation, I would prefer a 7.62 rifle to a 5.56 one.

I didn't know you were talking about range rounds, I thought you were saying the usual "5.56 is ~weak~" stuff.

In Norway, where you have to apply to the police for each gun, it's says on the form that you can't write just "7.62" as caliber, but all the applications I know of have been returned as 7.62 even thought they were different (one was .30-06 and the other was .308 Win)
And because of some bullshit, I can't buy .38 spc with my .357 Magnum license
Alright gun bros I want some factual accuracy help. I'm working on a shotgun for Receiver and I'd like it to be, well, realistic. I have for a shotgun a Remington 870, pump-action. Anyway, my question relates to reloading
If I am reloading the shotgun, and it's empty in the chamber and empty in the tube, in order to fill it completely, I need to: pump it back, insert a shell into the ejection port to get it into the chamber, and put the rest into the loading port into the mag tube, correct?
And I can insert rounds into the mag tube all I want assuming there is space without pulling the pump back?
[editline]29th June 2012[/editline]
I ask because I've handled many shotguns in my time but they've all been double-barrel or I never loaded the magazine in the pumps :v:
