Got myself an old Remington Model 11(a I think) that's been sitting in a case disassembled for gods know how long. Anyone know much about these?
I figured out reassembly well enough, though I seem to be missing some part to the receiver or it's just jammed as I've not been able to release it from being locked open. Hell, I can't even push the plate upwards to see if a shell will load. And I'm worried that bent friction rings will be a problem for operation... they're not horribly misshapen, just far from being flat and straight rings.
keltec makes like 10 of each of their guns each month
[editline]turbohitler[/editline]
and then sell them to an obscure gunstore far innawoods in texas
Most fucking infuriating thing ever.
I'd be willing to have a love-hate relationship with them if it weren't for the fact that in order to have a relationship period I actually have to be able to get ahold of one of their guns. I walked into Big5 and asked if they had any in stock, the man at the desk looked at me with the biggest dumb grin on his face and just shook his head as if to mock me.
Repeat about eight times in different stores across Arizona.
no idea what you guys and your fetish for kel-tec is about, the only kel-tec I've ever enjoyed using was an SU-16C. the others were all terribly uncomfortable
[editline]5th July 2012[/editline]
I could see a PLR-16 being a nice ranch gun since it shoots a rifle round but is short and easy to carry around on an ATV or whatever but I don't live on a ranch so fuck it

thats pretty subjective really
Other than the plastic on some of their guns feeling kinda cheap and most of their guns looking "interesting" I really have no complaints
So I just found out about duckfoot pistols.

Apparently they were made for naval captains who would use it on a broadsided ship to kill multiple people.

Honestly, it's less a fetish and more frustration that I can't get the Sub-2000 that I want, that translates into more frustration because apparently ALL of their guns are fucking ridiculous to get.

3k of cash for that sucka
Took a UMP45 for a spin today at the local range with a friend of mine. 100 rounds only lasted about three minutes... but damn if it wasn't fun. We even got to shoot at zombified Britney Spears targets. My friend also annihilated one of the standard targets with the guy aiming a gun at you... she put about five in his crotch before blowing his head completely out of the paper.
Going back to try out the Glock 18 they had as well... that should be interesting. I heard the last guy that tried it lost control and nearly blew his fingers away. Challenge accepted :v:
glocks don't need an affirmative external safety

that little thing poking out of the trigger? a glock will never fire if that nub isn't being pressed.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire (aka something you should do with any gun ever) and a glock will be the safest firearm you could own
even if it didn't have that it's still got the most important safety any gun could have:

Fuck sakes, finally someone tells me what the hell that thing is... I thought it was some kind of compensator for the finger or something. I never asked either...
Thanks!
going to the gat show nigga saturday
i really wanna pick up a cetme g3 or a aks 74 or any folding stock ak. but i only wanna spend around $500
For that price range you might be able to get a Century WASR AK47 with a fixed stock. Maybe an under folder if you're lucky.
Make sure it's a WASR-10/63 though. They're higher quality than the WASR-10.
i know all about wasr 10's dont worry. my friends got one and it has never had an issue with it
So some city councillor, Adam Vaughan, thinks he's going to try to push the mayor around and try to pass a ban on bullets in Toronto, under the guise that it will prevent gangsters and criminals from getting them. Of course it won't, but he doesn't care, he's a ridiculous hoplophobe and just wants guns banned, and will think of any stupid-ass reason to do it.
Here's a link to the e-mails of all the city councillors for Toronto, as well as the mayor:
http://app.toronto.ca/im/council/councillors.jsp
I suggest e-mailing Vaughan, the mayor, and possibly all others saying that this proposed ban is a terrible idea that will do nothing to make the city safer or to stop crime and that if it is enacted then Toronto will never see a penny of tourism revenue from you. Vaughan is such a prick that he's already told Americans to fuck off out of our city if they own guns, so he won't care much, but some of the others might. And be professional about it, I don't want him to go on the news later and talk about the stupid e-mails he's received from idiot foreign gun owners and then try spouting some nonsense that all gun owners are just as stupid.
Wait, banning...bullets?
How the fuck does that work?
Wait, banning...bullets?

The short answer is, it doesn't. It's literally unenforceable and does absolutely nothing beneficial. As a matter of fact, one of the country's largest importers of firearms will likely have to move if this passes, and it will shut down the only remaining gun store in the city. Yes, that's right, a city of nearly 3 million, the largest in the country, and there's only 1 gun store on the outskirts that's in the actual city. This guy is a tool, he came up with this bullshit after a shooting at the Eaton Centre mall in the middle of downtown, a blatant emotional response, and then called on people to stop making emotional responses to gun crime and face the facts, that apparently gun control works. I don't know where he gets his so-called "facts" from, because every fact I've seen tells me it doesn't, but of course, he probably makes up his "facts" and doesn't give a shit, or misconstrues and misinterprets available statistics.
Took all my guns to the range today to get my brother-in-law into fire arms, fired off about 500 rounds between us. Fun day.
Was it his first time shooting? And did he get any hot brass down his shirt? Hot brass burns are the official rite of passage for new shooters.

I'm not new to shooting by any means but the 3rd round I fired from my SKS the shell landed in my collar and gave me a good burn.

no, he'd fired handguns before, but he wore a tank-top shirt and got the shit pinched out of his shoulder and had a shell land down his shrt once, and it took all his strength to cycle the bolt on the Mosin Nagant. Was a pretty fun day all-in-all.
