So I went to the gat show with $500 and was about to buy this Polish folding stock AK 74 until I saw this Romanian RPK. I decided an LMG would be way cooler AND I got it for $600. I pick it up next Saturday and I'm pretty happy with my choice. Spend more than what I would've liked but oh well
I'm impressed you found an AK74 in your price range. And more impressed you passed on it :P

Hey that's Rio Salado Sportsman's Club!
I've been meaning to go out there to try out my new nugget!

I love it so far, but man without those sling slot escutcheons the stock looks sorta naked.
Got a new wood handgaurd set for my AK47, digging it so far.

He said it was Polish, so it was most likely a Tantal. I've seen those go for about the price of a WASR.

I love Romanian foregrips. So sexy.
At summer camp, I took the shotgun shooting merit badge class. I was the only one in it so I did the shooting requirements really quickly. I used an unidentified Weatherby 12 gauge, a Remington 1100 (gonna have to get me one of thems), and a 20 gauge I didn't use much because I couldn't hit any birds with it. I was shooting in sets of five and twice I got all five. The only shotgun shooting that happens at this camp is trap. I found three 5.45x39 casings on the shotgun range. I kept one, but I lost it. Yesterday I took a stack of unbroken birds and shot it from about 60-70 feet with the R1100. That thing has no kick compared to the 20 gauge and the Weatherby, which kick the same. I have the shell from that little bit of plinking.
I just made the mistake of touching a Mosin's reciever after firing 10 rounds through it.
Now I have part of the serial number burned into my thumb. :v:

That range is pretty cool, 10$ for a lane and all day.
Very nice Mosin.

Done that myself, except I was stupid enough to grab the receiver with my entire palm. Fired a bunch of clips through it, put it down, and then went to pick it up again and bam, I kentucky-seared my whole right palm.
I still have scarring to this day :v:
Yeah it's an RPK 47. 7.62x39 and it comes with one steel 40 round but I plan on getting another and a 75 drum. All steel of course, fuck plastic
Damn RIGHT fuck plastic. Mags ain't the fuckin' place for plastic.
Not too bothered about plastic mags, myself, or indeed plastic on guns; so long as it's not that awful beige stuff you see on the SCAR and the like. Beaver vomit vz. 58 is best.
spaesh age polymer is the footure.
I told my parents I wanted a nugget and I told them how cheap they are
They were like "must be a piece of shit then"
I pained inside. Good thing I'm 19 and can just store it at my grandpa's house

Shot the nugget for the first time today. We put 70 rounds down range before the first jam. Quite impressed with it I must say.
I let my little bro shoot it. It's his first (real) gun he ever shot. He wasn't expecting a kick though..

Next time, let him shoot it without resting it on anything, it reduces alot of the felt recoil.
UK here, had tons of fun firing a Marlin lever action .357 this morning. Seriously awesome.

Ok we'll let him try it. If he's even able to lift it.
Did you paint that ATI stock poop brown?
No, it was the standard color for the stock. It was either that or bright pink.

How much do a nugget kick compared to a 12 gauge?
So I used to have an Ithaca 37 featherlight, then my dad just up and gave it to my uncle without even telling me. I think I might talk to him about getting it back soon. I mean, it's not like he uses it at all. Dude's too lazy to get out of the car on the few occasions that he does actually hunt, and even then he has another shotgun with a shortened barrel for that very purpose.
Godamn that was a nice gun too, the previous owner was a moron and chipped off a part of the pump, but other than that it was beautiful.
I also have a marlin model 60, a Remington woodmaster in .203 (and my dad has one in 30-06), and a winchester youth 20 gauge something or other which was my first gun.
Neato. It's not a rebarreled WASR, though, right? I heard that it's common for Century "imports".
Honestly idk yet. i only briefly inspected it before buying, and i have to do that 5 day waiting period so ill let you all know next saturday
can anyone explain what happened? I bought a Beretta M9 series gun, brand new, went to a place outside of town to unload a box or two. I loaded 3 mags, first mag, 12 jams in a row. I cleaned it before i shot it, and i cleaned it well. I'm guessing shitty ammo because i bought 2 boxes of Blazer TMJ rounds because they were cheaper.
I don't think shitty ammo would cause an entire mag to FTL.
[editline]7th July 2012[/editline]
Unless it wasn't ejecting, which is certainly possible although unlikely.

Lube it up if it's new, it's common with most guns that come right of the production line. Note: Clean=/Lube, before you ask.
Alright, making my AK-47 into a long range weapon. I had the buttstock and grip removed with an old SVD buttstock I got. I want to know, is it worth getting a PSO-1 scope for it? I dont want a damned western stock for my ruskie rifle.

This may sound dumb and I don't know your level of experience so I don't mean to offend you but, are you holding it with a tight grip? Limp wrist will fuck you every time.
That said, keep it clean and lubed and how did it jam? Failing to Feed or Failing to Eject?
