Especially the mosin, considering you have to cycle it with a 2x4, it's always a blast. Last time I went shooting with my mosin I went out to my Uncle's for the 4th, and was taking pot shots at turtles when they'd poke their head up in his pond. Nailed one, or close to one and sent it flying at least 5 feet in the air. The Mosin Nagant is just a blast to shoot.

Why would you hurt a innocent turtle =(
Over population.
Does anyone know what causes key-holing? You know that Arisaka I have? Well, I couldn't hit shit all with it, so today I took it out to 25m to see if I could hit anything there. It was shooting so low I had to set the sight at 200m just to get it on paper, but then it was fairly accurate, except for one thing... The bullet holes in the paper weren't a plain, small circle, they were the silhouette of the whole bullet, and each one of the 5 shots I fired had the bullet hit the paper facing the sky, they tumbled consistently and accurately, but at 25m the accuracy isn't surprising. Anyone know what could cause the bullet to do that? I mean, I know I'm using the right cartridge, there's no abnormal swelling of the cartridge in the chamber to indicate it's been re-chambered, and there's no other cartridge around that size that would fit with a larger diameter round. The rifling looks perfect as well, and a bullet will fit in the barrel if I try to insert it from the muzzle end (Take a cartridge, put it in the muzzle end with the bullet in the muzzle) and it seems like it's the right size, it doesn't look too small.
It's an Arisaka.
Also Pruss was banned.
fuck yes
speaking of killing innocent animals with guns,
Every summer since ive been born me and my family go down to our beach house, where we just shoot off the deck down at the beach(theres a steep bank just in front of the house) At targets. Usually being golfballs and pieces of drift wood that have washed up, but some times there seagulls and we cant help but shoot at them with .22, and .17hmr but some times we throw in a few .30-30, 30carbine and recently a lot of 5.56, because of my dads new AR-15. My brother even shot one out of the air with an old .22 bolt action. The only bad thing is we use to have to go down and bury them or my dog would roll in it
Anyone had a pistol casing get stuck between their shooting glasses and face?
It burns :v:
I've had quite a few hit me in the face from the bloke next to me on the firing ranges at Santahamina, quite startling.
I got my revenge when one of mine went down his shirt, though :v:

Dog food?
I hate seagulls.
In NY, I use to fish in Buffalo Harbor on Lake Erie near the breakwalls where rockbass and smallmouth would hang out, but one of the things which sucked was that nearby to the breakwall was the infamous 'Seagull Island' where thousands of seagulls would flock too so that they could mate and eat abundant rockbass. Every so often we would have that one dumbass bird which would attack rockbass which we had on the line, and we would usually end up having to kill it and the fish because it got tangled in the line.
Seagulls are annoying as Hell, in the same vane as Pigeons if you ask me
The main question now is, what would .30-06 do to them?

Yep, happened to me last year with my Glock 19. While I was in the restroom at the range putting some water on the burn, my friend managed to blow up a $3,000 pistol.

Seagull Soup

Prusse's quite angry.
Why? No one can tell.
Is he just butthurt?
Well, why does he dwell?
Maybe he's jealous?
No, he's way too zealous.
Perhaps he's a troll?
Or just an a-hole?
He's probably snickering
While you do your bickering
To the folks that don't realize
That he's too idealized
Perhaps you should stop
Before you all flop.

if you guys would stop provoking him he'd stop being an ass

I've said this half a dozen fucking times in each thread. If you do not feed the troll, the troll will fuck off. Stop provoking him and he'll stop thread shitting
Every time I come back to this thread thinking there is a good discussion going on it is the same drama as before.
Christ sake.
So my friends, hoping to go shooting tomorrow. Some .22, .303, 12ga and maybe some .45 and .357. I figure if I buy a box of .357 and bring it then they will have to break it out to shoot the ammo. :v:

This was just posted and apparently we "provoke" pruss. I doubt we "provoke" him, he starts shitting when anyone posts anything he doesn't like, and the moment someone talks him down, he spray shit all over the thread, to the point of where it leaks elsewhere.

people indulge in his initial bullshit and it spirals out of control.
Alright let's stop talking about that before someone dies.
Thoughts on .22 Magnum?
Alright let's stop talking about that before someone dies.

.17HMR is better. the only advantages .22 Mag offers comes from it being a heavier bullet.

Using a 30 gr bullet you're looking at performance similar to a 30 gr 5.7 round. If you can find that in spitzer tip you've go yourself a zippy little round.

I'm thinking your asking cause PMR30? Maybe I'm wrong though. Either way, .22wmr can be a pretty sweet round, then again .17hmr is really nice too. 6 and one half dozen I suppose... from what I gather it's better than .17 in sub 100 ranges but past that, and only by 50 yards or so, it loses too much punch to be sufficient. Then again what application are you putting the .22wmr to use in?
can a .22 mag shoot .22lr, ect. safely?
can a .22 mag shoot .22lr, ect.?
Survey says no... the wmr is slightly bigger casing*.
*(So I've been told)

Just wondering, and yes I saw the PMR30, I just wanted to know if .22wmr is a good round or not.

You can do it. You may split the case and have accuracy issues, but you can do it. More than likely it wont cycle correctly in semi autos
Most .22 wmr revolvers come with a separate .22 lr cylinder to properly fit and hold the round. In this case the chamber is the issue, not the barrel.
So today, I met someone who didn't believe we should own guns...
Thanks to my sister, she knows that we have a 17+ collection of rifles hanging up on the wall in our house, and she proceeded to walk away when I walked in the lounge area of my college. :v:
