birdshot will stop if you hit from within a couple of meters which is typically how home defense stuff goes down. though imo bird bird buck buck if you don't take him down with those two birdshots then he's probably doped up and those bucks will take care of him
yes it does not only does the rifling go all the way to the muzzle, but I've never even seen a desert eagle that long that didn't either look like this: or have a muzzle brake
What?? I'm saying that the slide doesn't go all the way forward and wrap around the muzzle like it does on most pistols.
What?? I'm saying that the slide doesn't go all the way forward and wrap around the muzzle like it does on most pistols.
To demonstrate: D-E's slide: More common slide: D-E's barrel is exposed from the top, while 1911's slide covers the barrel completely.
D-E's barrel is exposed from the top, while 1911's slide covers the barrel completely.
So, pretty much what he said?
Guys, don't forget this though; The DE uses polygonal rifling, which is nearly impossible to see unless you can hold the gun yourself, here's the best picture I found after nearly 7 seconds of googling Desert Eagle and polygonal rifling: Also, while not the most precise rifling, it's able to withstand quite the abuse from the perspective of what abuse the rifling can have.
Anyone here own a Tokarev pistol? AIM surplus just got some nice looking Yugo ones, and classicfirearms also has some nice looking Romanian ones. 10$ price difference between the 2. Is the pistol worth the 200$?

Worth the $200 sure I suppose. Generally I'd consider any firearms that's under $250 and shoots straight a good buy since it isn't much of an investment to begin with.
My friend bought the Shrubmaster M16A2 for $700. I hope he made a good purchase [editline]12th July 2012[/editline] Oh and I saw a double barrel 12 ga for $150 at the gun show, I really wanted it for fun

They go for $15K+ What you mean is an AR15
Lives in an alternate universe where the NFA, GCA and FOPA never passed.
Lives in an alternate universe where the NFA, GCA and FOPA never passed.
So... Can I have a ticket to this universe?
So... Can I have a ticket to this universe?
I'll let ya know when I can get one myself...
A machinegun for $700? Sure. They go for $15K+ What you mean is an AR15
I think it's pretty obvious he meant "an AR-15 that looks like an M16A2, obviously lacking the full-auto function because that would cost a fuckton", but decided to write it down in a shorter manner. Happy now?
What?? I'm saying that the slide doesn't go all the way forward and wrap around the muzzle like it does on most pistols.
Sorry, read it wrong. Thought you were talking about the rifling, I don't think anyone ever disagreed about the slide
So the ammo ban shit got voted to committee, and the committee is mostly conservative, meaning it's likely to die here. There've been 2 prominent police figures, one the city's chief, who have said this is useless. Thank God, there's almost no chance it'll pass now.
Hi here's a late reply:
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST that's an enormous handgun.
.50AE and a FUCKING GAS SYSTEM in a handgun kinda does that to the size

pistols look so silly with (accessory) sights
Agreed. I've never seen the practicality in scoped pistols, or pistols with large sights (red dot style.) in general. My thoughts always been that if your handgun is large enough to need a scope for whatever task you're doing, (besides something like, target practice, or novelty) then scoped pistols are just generally unnecessary.
its like i understand for rifles, red dots lead to easy target acquisition, but a pistol is much less unwieldy and if its quality at all the sights will be easy to make out so target acquisition is easy anyway
if you're at ranges where you can actually use a scope then you should probably be using a rifle anyway. on a pistol the most you'll ever need is a laser
theres that one pistol that has a really low profile red dot that isn't too ugly though. but that glock is like "hurr i am specshel edukashin glok" [editline]12th July 2012[/editline] lol yeah and that, pistols aren't designed for long range anyway
I guess you mean FN Herstal's FNP line of pistols? [editline]13th July 2012[/editline]
yeah those ain't the worst looking red dot sight on a pistol.
Was about, 3 seconds away from buying the fnp tactical just like that but ended up saving the money.

pistols should only have decent sized reddots(same/bigger size than aimpoint T1) if they're for IPSC

Someone was saying the benefit of having them on pistols was pretty game changing. He was a pro-shooting competition winner who used it on his comp-set up. He was saying along the line it wouldn't be surprising to see them on more and more pistols that are not used for competitions.

A red dot on a pistol takes away a lot of the disadvantages of the iron sights... that said batteries can die. Best to know how to use iron sights, but options are always better.
