People think mag restrictions will be the next easiest thing to tackle, but if they'd add "collecting" into their pro-gun rhetoric, that'd give them a lot of fuel for getting rid of the OIC prohibitions, IE class 12.4 and 12.5 prohibs. I'm hoping they go for short-barrelled pistols at some point too, and ATTs, and the OIC prohibs, if AKs were legal, I'd buy a Russian one no matter the cost.
It would go about 35147.9 meters up (from an SVD with 830m/s MV) Seems high, but again that's just accounting for gravity.
That's 114,000 feet. Still can't be right.
we didn't account for air resistance and other variables it's the correct starting point
Well that is part of the equation I was talking about.
Well that is part of the equation I was talking about.
Air Resistance is a constantly changing variable. There is no solid formula for that.
That's 114,000 feet. Still can't be right.
Like I said, thats not accounting for air resistance, the drag coefficient of the particular round, or the density of the air as the bullet goes higher in the atmosphere. I did a little more research, and it turns out the above variables have a massive effect. If we were testing this with, say, a baseball, the formula I gave you would be reasonable, unfortunately the ballistic performance of a bullet and baseball dont really compare, so that equation wont work on its own :v: [editline]16th February 2012[/editline]
Air Resistance is a constantly changing variable. There is no solid formula for that.
There is, actually. And the decline in air density as you ascend is actually pretty uniform throughout the atmosphere so that isnt even that hard to calculate.
Fuck all that, just use the BORS. .
I point my gun at the target and pull the trigger. Formula: G + FT = S where G = gun, F = finger, T = trigger, and S = shoot.
I point my gun at the target and pull the trigger. Formula: G + FT = S where G = gun, F = finger, T = trigger, and S = shoot.
Oh god you multiply your finger times a trigger then add a gun? I cant imagine you are a very accurate shooter :v:
Oh god you multiply your finger times a trigger then add a gun? I cant imagine you are a very accurate shooter :v:
Oh wait, revisions! ((G + FT)^2) / C = S where C = caliber
How horrible an idea would it be to try and build that smg someone posted a few pages ago? You know, 'long as I keep it secret?
I hope you don't value your hands.
Hey Prusslelusken you can use a clothes iron to bring up the wood grain to get rid of the dings and dents.
Ding dong the registry's dead! Which registry? The long gun registry! Ding dong the registry is deeeeeeaaaaaaad!
So uh, care to explain to a non-canuck what this offers? Are things still banned by name for bullshit reasons like "HURR SCARY RIFLE IS SOMEHOW MORE DEADLY", or can we expect that to fall too?

Whats the best way to clean the rifle after using military surplus rounds?

Whats the best way to clean the rifle after using military surplus rounds?
Hoppe's 9. Always use that to clean your weapons. It'll get anything off. Even cosmoline. Used Hoppe's 9 to clean mine of cosmoline.

Either way, I'm going shooting tomorrow with it, so i'll go with the windex method for tomorrow and think up something after that.

I've heard of people soaking a cosmaline coated rifle in petrol before. Sounds a lot cheaper to me

People figure, though, that since they banned those guns without voting on it, called an Order in Council, that they can therefore unban them through Order in Council, and I really hope they do.
Yeah, the oven has always been described as the best cosmoline remover for Nuggets. The problem is to find an oven big enough for a rifle who has won pole vault events.

No gun owner should suffer from a lack of it.

I have a thing for remoil [editline]17th February 2012[/editline] and clp breakfree, love that shit.
I would so get a Mosin Nagant for my 1st weapon buy my local outdoor range doesnt allow bimetal jackets like all the surplus ammo has so it really defeats the purpose for me.

I go to my grandma's out in the middle of nowhere. It's free, no rules (except general laws and stuff), and it's not crowded since it's just me and whoever else came.

Is that a Remmy 597 with a plastic 30-round mag? If so, he's not engaging the mag release.
Is that a Remmy 597 with a plastic 30-round mag? If so, he's not engaging the mag release.
I dunno, nutnfancy is fucking stupid it wouldn't surprise me
If only he had duracoated the mag, it would never have come to this!!
