You guys should consider Pepper Spray, Batons and Handcuffs for your survival kits.

I've got an E-Tool in my kit. That's great for self defense. Also, just realized that I should add a crowbar for breaking into abandoned houses and whacking nutjobs upside the head (and pretending to be Gordon Freeman).

So do I :buddy:
I doubt your Mosin is going to help against most wildlife, pepper spray is definitely something I wouldn't wanna miss.
I'd go with the big old OC Canisters the guys at the local prison use... foam spray covers face and it burns like a mother... big bad dudes go down to that shit.
May I pose a shotgun as a good survival gun. It can fire slugs for a greater distance (albeit not quite .308 ranges) and then you can also load shot for closer ranges. Not to forget ammo is plentiful and it's pretty easy to clean and fix.

Plus, they are relatively simple to operate as far as mechanics go, so they are probably not going to jam even if you can't clean them for some reason.

From the Classic Firearms FB page...
Why can't more businesses be like this?

OC is pepper spray, so yeah a big canister is a good idea, but not widely available and illegal for civilians in some areas.

Why Facepunch, why are you so uneducated...
The second amendment was created in order to protect the first. Restricting the rights of those who actually do own firearms only harms them worse. Do criminals follow laws? Not at all.
Most of the guys from this thread are already on those threads debating from what I can tell...
Also, does anyone own an AR-7?

Even if someone had been carrying a concealed weapon there is fuck all he could have done. To put it plainly this guy carried out his attack by the book. He made sure no one could stop him with gas grenades and overwhelming force. Not to mention the theater was already dark. Adding an armed citizen to the mix would just have thrown more lead around and gotten more people hurt. That said shooting is, as I look at it, a sport. And we don't ban baseball bats or really fast cars do we? So why ban my sport?
I'm thinking about getting a M91/30 Mosin Nagant Rifle chambered in 7.62x54R from Classic guns for $89.99.
Sound good guys?

You should have been in the other thread last night. One poster asks for examples of a knife being used in a massacre. We post up 3 events in the past 5 years. The original poster yells at us to stop using specific examples.

Pretty much that, I wanted to scream.
"if you own an assault rifle, you've got mental problems, seek help in your backwards country."

I personally stay away from those kind of debates, not worth the time. But i salute you brave souls
What would I need to register a handgun in North Dakota?
FUCK!
Winnebago county doesn't allow rifles.

2 of the supporters are from California, I'm not surprised at all seeing how they are already banned here.
You guys should consider Pepper Spray, Batons and Handcuffs for your survival kits.
The former two are extremely useful for self defense, especially against wild animals and of course humans, the later is an ultimate solution for fixing things together as well as restraining humans.
I would get a big can of bear spray/repellant. It is like OC on steroids. You can kill a human with it due to the amount of pain it inflicts.
Gentlemen, Today I went to the gunshop to see that SVD I was told about. It wasn't and SVD, or a PSL, or any other rifle of that type. It was a Norinco AK-47 with an extended barrel (RPK maybe?). It had 2 sets of furniture, wood and polymer, a very nice PSO scope, and a military bipod. I'll get pics later, but how much $ would you guys put that rifle at?

"NHM 91 – Sporterized RPK-style version with a stamped receiver and 20" heavy barrel."
Is it that?
"Military bipod"
Barrel mounted, RPK style, or just some generic ATI stuff?
"Military bipod"

The bipod isn't mounted on there, it's aftermarket.
@Aman: Might be, I was told it had a 16 inch barrel but I'm don't have any tools at the moment to check the barrel length.
