Since it's not prohibited in Canada, could I ship you one from Italy?
Ours go for circa 750 euros, have the folding stock and everything. You'd have to convert the mags from 10 to 5 though...

Plus it has the smexier wood grip.

I thought Italy had some crazy gun laws where any calibre used by a military was banned?
Used to be like that a few decades ago, now only a few ones aren't available but we get equivalents.
As in, we can't have 5,56, 7,62x51 and 9mm para, but we can have .223, .308 and 9x21.
Non-NATO military calibers also seem to be exempt: AK variants and 7,62x39 are really popular, and we might even get 5,45 in the near future.

Depends, one of the Cz variants is actually banned by name, and apparently so are variants, but there are plenty of restricted Skorpions around the country, showcasing how dumb and ineffective arbitrary prohibitions are. Can't be bothered to find the page that lists all the banned-by-name guns, but there's about a hundred, most of them "assault rifles" and "sub-machine guns."
You're not on SomethingAwful, are you?
Nope.
Alright gents, Century Firearms.
Opinions?
AKs: Hard to fuck one up. Worst case scenario is canted front sight
HKs: Dangerous. Would only buy one in person after having a smith look it over

Ah. One of their Canadian members posted yesterday he just got a Skorpion as well.
I'd so put that on my dash.
Not right in my view, but so if I ducked down a little I could see the reticle.
I'd put it directly in my line of sight :v:
I said I wanted one, not that I got one, doling out a grand right now is hard to justify.
Oh, didn't notice that last sentence. When you said it had made it's way into Canada, I assumed that meant yours had cleared customs or whatever. :P
No, I meant a dealer managed to get them past the RCMP's gun-control hard-on. I love TacticalImports, basically everything on their site is designed to give the gun-grabbers aneurysms and cause them to cry themselves to sleep every night. All they're missing is a steady supply of IWI Tavors and they'd be perfect.
Alright gents, Century Firearms.

Always buy it in person. Never do the online orders and having the luck of the draw. Look it over well and make sure there are no issues or obvious signs of terri-bad construction.
If everything pans out you should be good to go.
Now this is just more of a technical question.
Say Mexico were to go to war in the 1940s. What armaments would they have?

Fucking jumping jesus on a pogo stick
5000 good condition StG 44s
"good condition"? those are MINT.
"good condition"? those are MINT.
Well they won't be too long if the rebels find any ammo for them.
There's a lot of rare, original guns in the Middle East that would make any gun owner envious. Then they get used by insurgents, captured by US troops and destroyed.
I love finding history time capsules like that
That one video reminded me of this image....

Yeah, there's a lot of guns there that should have been and could be sold here in America if not for the fucking NFA, GCA and Hughes Amendment. I mean hell, there's an MP41 that someone destroyed right there middle foreground, those aren't exactly common guns.
:suicide: So many guns that could have potentially been mine

The Official RCMP list is down right now but can be found here:

I doubt the RCMP one will be back soon so I found it from a different source (you will need to scroll down past the table):

Well, my dad's deadbeatness has stooped to a new low.
Now, he's pawned both our Mossberg 500s, our Mini-14, our Colt target pistol, and attempted to pawn our Ruger 10/22 which apparently got all kinds of rusted last time I took it out (6 hour hike + hands sweating all over, oh god).
Basically he's gotten like $300 or so for well over a grand worth in guns, and there's no way he's going to be able to pay it back in the 90 day time period considering how he spends any money he has on alcohol.
*sigh*
[editline]14th August 2012[/editline]
Though thankfully he hasn't tried to touch my Nugget. I'd clock him in the face if he tried that.
Any addiction has gone too far if you even start to consider pawning off guns. You need to sit down and have a talk with your dad.

Guess those obscenely expensive 1911s were totally worth it. Is there no pride in firearm manufacture anymore?
It's been going on for 3+ years, we've had multiple interventions, and he's went to rehab twice.
It's sort of beyond the talking about it stage, and we don't have yet another 10 grand to spend on treatment. I tried to be compassionate, but I'm just done with that now.
It's like a sinking ship taking passengers down with it.
Wish I could give you advice, but the only thing that helped my dad through his drinking was a different wife. /shrug.

i posted in sensationalist headlines that buying colt is a bad idea

guess i wasn't wrong after all?

is it our as in our or our as in he paid for it and let me shoot it occasionally
if it's the former, seek legal action. getting sued by his own son should be a massive kick in the nads and will either get him angry at you for a while or be enough to get him to see that his life isn't going in the right direction.
if the latter, deal with it. If you really want the guns back, 90 days is a long time to make $300 in. If you don't have a job, get one. if you do, it's not hard to put away $25 a week, that'll be just enough time to buy them back.
Now this is just more of a technical question.

Wikipedia or some other website could probably give you a better answer.
Me thinks they just had a bunch of bolt action rifles. Up to mid 1940s, bolt action rifles we the main infantry weapon for most militaries. Then they would have had a bunch of revolvers supplemented with few pistols. Machines guns would probably be as numerous as the Mexican military budget of the 1940s would allow.
Speaking of military budgets, Mexico is sort of like a third world country right now. Who knows how much crappier and underdeveloped it was back then. They probably didn't have the cash for a fancy military like industrial America or Germany did.
Now onto a different matter. Not too long ago did I buy a Ruger 10/22. Haven't spent too much time with it. However, there's a Smith& Wesson M&P 15 for around 600 dollars. It's just a sporter model, so it lacks a dust cover and forward assist. I don't really care for those features and I can always buy a better upper later on. So should I get it? Or should I stay focused on the 10/22?
in the 40's mexico would have been using American Thompsons, BARs, Garands, and 1911s.
Found the cutest gun ever.

Galil chambered in .30 caliber to be used by police forces.
there were probably some Mendoza C-1934s, Mondragons, and Obregons too, but the majority of Mexico's service weapons in the '40's were American guns.
