I just love the tiny, palm sized stock on that thing.

I doubt the RCMP one will be back soon so I found it from a different source (you will need to scroll down past the table):

Well, guess that's working out for them well...
It's probably because these are all SBRs and not pistols.

Taurus would have been a step up from these Colt guns it looks like, and at least the PT1911 isn't nearly two grand. Colt is just a defense contract hungry shark that charges way too much for everything.
i hope those stg44s get destroyed in combat
that is a good death

I don't understand why they get awarded the contract if they charge so much. Just because the military has a massive budget doesn't mean they should be stupid with their money...

Because the US military still hasn't decided whether it goes for bang for your buck or continue its huge spending spree on the latest and greatest.

Hello comrades. I've just got my SVD-S 7,62x54R and i freaking love it:

But there is the thing i need for my full love. I want to get a silencer for it.
Any recommendations how and where to get silencer/supressor? Or it should be custom made?
suppressors are expensive enough that you should probably just submit the paperwork to make your own
suppressors are expensive enough that you should probably just submit the paperwork to make your own
How much is it cost? I have enough money to buy it. SVD costed me around 3k$.
[editline]15th August 2012[/editline]
I just don't recognize self-made supressors, i need a factory made one, military.
Suppressors for SVDs are really hard to find. I've never seen one out in the wild and can count the number I've seen on the internet on one hand. If you're not comfortable making your own you should probably just have a gunsmith do it for you.

you shouldn't run a silencer without a ported gas block
and are you shooting surplus ammo? if yes, then.. don't do that.
[editline]15th August 2012[/editline]
also, unless you're running sub handloads in it, getting a silencer is a waste of money, time and work.

It's not the first time either, there was concern that the Colt M4s were too expensive. Problem is Colt lobbies for this shit to go through so they can drown themselves in money.
is it our as in our or our as in he paid for it and let me shoot it occasionally
if it's the former, seek legal action. getting sued by his own son should be a massive kick in the nads and will either get him angry at you for a while or be enough to get him to see that his life isn't going in the right direction.
if the latter, deal with it. If you really want the guns back, 90 days is a long time to make $300 in. If you don't have a job, get one. if you do, it's not hard to put away $25 a week, that'll be just enough time to buy them back.
I'll probably end up doing that. I guess working because you have to is more of a motivator than working for extra cash, but that doesn't mean I like it any more.
Soon as I turn 18 I'm getting everything except our pistol put in my name so he can't do it again.
On the bright side, I actually have a reason to go and see what's going on with the job I was supposed to have a month ago.
Anyway, happier times. Are Obrez pistols sold by themselves or do you have to do the mod itself? If the former, are they considered SBRs or pistols?

It's an SBR, unless you manage to find a virgin Mosin receiver and build one from scratch.
I do believe it's cheaper to buy an old rusty 91/30, get that $200 stamp and then chop it down. Best $280 you'll ever spend.

Where do you live? You may need permits before you can buy or make a suppressor.

Selfmade suppressors are as good as you make them yourself. I know severeal people who are happy with the suppressors they made (except for the guy who made a nylon suppressor :v: )

I think who he got it from is more important, SVDs are sort of hard to buy.

I live in Moscow, pistols are completely illegal here. I serve in russian army as a marine (blue beret) and i have some communications there. I am participating in hunting club and i was able to get a real SVD and register it as a hunting carbine (had to pay a lot of D0$H to the police to let me do that).
In pistols we only have a traumatic guns which use rubber bullets for self-defence. Real pistols are completely illegal here. It's sad that i have a castrated TT. It used to be a real TT-33 but was converted to traumatic, so only in that way it can be sold to civilians. About a silencers, they are also illegal here but my licence will not be revoked if i set a silencer to my hunting carbine (svd). Law here is completely shitty, so i CAN have a silencer, but if i SET it to my rifle i will have to pay a violation fee (approx 25$). But that will not affect my licence. I hope pistols will be legalized soon. The government is already looking to this case.
It's really sad that only traumatic guns with rubber bullets allowed here. I am crying when i see real makarovs and TT's being castrated to these toys:

odd i thought that russia would have a lot looser gun laws considering they make the most famous firearm ever and have some of the most famous firearm manufacturing places.
You see, there is a hunting rifle called Tiger, which was designed for hunt, but it is a real 1:1 copy of SVD/SVD-S. The only difference that some parts are made from the wood and it dont have a special thing in the end of barrel for silencer. BUT, caliber is same, size is same, same factory, same metal. But i've got a real SVD and paid (illegaly) to police so in my licence it is written:
Hunting Carbine
Model: Tiger
Caliber: 7,62x54
Serial number: bla bla bla
Date of registration: date here.
You got my point, with money and communications in military you can do almost anything.

You can't even realize how shitty with firearms are there. Government considering normal people as slaves. I hate putin and i would be happy if he dies. I want back to soviet union.
Government says that we are LITERALLY CRAZY, that it is dangerous to give a weapons to civilians. But i am military. I work with weapons.
In some way i am agree with government because traumatic guns which are considered non-lethal are being USED EVERYWHERE. Here is example, in the road someone accidently hits the car. WHAT THE FUCK YOU TOUCHED MY TOYOTA YOU FUCKTARD, GET A BULLET. BLAM BLAM, 2 corpses.
This is really common here, and i would never give a pistols to civilians.

Aren't those still technically lethal? I remember either you or someone else in the thread talking about how people are killed by those things from time to time.
Aren't those still technically lethal? I remember either you or someone else in the thread talking about how people are killed by those things from time to time.
Me? I have registered on the forum 2 days ago, so it technically can't be me. But yes, they are lethal if you shoot to head, rubber ball weights 1 gramm, and flies out from the barrel at almost 500m/s speed. Like a real pistol bullet, it easily passes bones and other shit. Lot's of people being killed from non-lethal guns. And the worse story is that it is not a real bullet, criminalistic experts can't find a gun where the bullet was shot from like it is being done in real firearms.
Traumatic bullet works in absolutely the same way as a real bullet:

What the hell would be done in USA if you ACCIDENTLY hit someone's car on the road and then that car owner gives you a bullet to your head? He will just go to jail for LIFETIME. But in russia, those FUCKTARDS WHOM I WOULD FUCK EVEN DON'T GO TO JAIL FOR THAT. Fuck russia, i get a lot of money per month because i am military, but i would go out from this shithole. But i can't. I can't even go for vacation out from russia, because i am a marine, i am just NOT ALLOWED to leave my country, for a lifetime. Only after i get fired from my post.
