What is the purpose of that lever behind the safety selector?
[editline]19th August 2012[/editline]
I appear to be having a conversation with myself.
Similar to the SKS, the lever is used to hold the dustcover down
Goddamn, that's awesome. Around here they just call you and tell you to come get your card.
Less awesome thing was the 4-month wait. It was supposed to be 3 at max.
Oh well, better nate than lever.

I send in my CCW paperwork tomorrow. 3 month wait as well.
Anyone ever buy anything from ak-part.com? Was wanting to get a wood stock set for my RPK to replace the synthetic furniture thats on there.

Seems like a good deal, anyone got any opinions?

Gotta love Italian bureaucracy. Where do you shoot in Milano, though?.
So apparently Oregon only issues concealed permits to non-residents if they are a citizen of a surrounding state.
Fawk. It doesn't help that my mother lives thirty to forty-five minutes away from the closest police station but is the biggest goddamn hippy about guns.

Reminds me of the Possession and Acquisition License wait times in Canada, except they just mail you your license. Hell, if you're rich enough you could pay an instructor to come to your house to do the PAL test too, so in theory you don't need to leave your house to get a gun license here, but it's much cheaper to just go to a class where they do the course/test.
It's a minimum 28 days from when the RCMP receive your application, but most people wait 3-5 months for a card.

Actually I live about 1h away from there. Closer to the woods and shit.
I usually go to the Rho range, plus I heard there's an abandoned quarry near the same range, where' it's possible to shoot things.
For CCW in Virginia, you do the safety thing (it can be an online course) and then you get a background check and fill out the paper work. After a couple of weeks, you get your permit in the mail.
For CCW in Illinois
oh wait.
To get my gun licence in Australia, it took the police 6 months to send my background check back to me, and now I have to do a $200 safety course

Gee I think i'll go stroll down to Cabelas and buy seven AR-15s just for fun tomorrow afternoon, seems like a good use of an hour.

or you could just buy one full auto ar-15
[editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
doesn't even take an hour here. I've got a ccw license so I get to skip the background checks
The gun license here is your background check, and now thanks to the registry being dead you can just walk out of a store with a rifle in 5 minutes, but with a pistol or SBR semi there's still the matter of getting Authorization to Transport it from the store to your house and registering it still, which means if you go by the store in the morning you might be able to take it home by the evening if the Chief Firearms Office is being quick that day, usually in Ontario it's been next-day (thankfully), but I've heard in BC right now the CFO is doing so shit people have waited 4 weeks to get their new handguns.
My 1911 has shipped out, and will arrive at my local arsenal sometime this week.

For the price of one AR15 in Australia (assuming you get get the licence for one), you could buy 10 in the US
For CCW in Illinois
oh wait.
For CCW in Arizona.
Oh wait!
We don't need them :v:
(arharhar)
License is here, I feel the strong urge to order a Saiga at the local armory (however pricey they are) and remove some kebab.
