I've a video of my most recent shooting trip, about half's the drive up and the other half is mostly me bump-firing my SKS. However if you want a video of a dude shooting at melons I'd be happy to upload.
*EDIT*
Ok then, upload will take hours. Hate the internet here.
my dream gun is probably an ar-15 with a 6.8 Spc upper
Ruger makes the SR-556 in 6.8, there's one for sale where I live at $1200. I'd get it myself but then it'd kinda defeat the purpose of me getting an AR-15 if it's not in .223/5.56mm.
6.8 Spc is a lot more versatile than 5.56, and I can just throw some 5.56 parts in it if I want to shoot cheap
Ruger Mk3 w/ Bull Barrel or the normal barrel, soon, fellow STALKER.
I doubt a .22 would benefit much from a bull barrel, honestly....
It's a Loaded model

Has a national match heavy barrel, national match front sight. Has standard rear sight and does not have a unitized gas system
kick ass, hopefully I can upgrade mine when the prices stop going through the damn roof.

go ahead and post it, guns and shooting guns is what this threads aboot.
Bought a Glock 20 SF during my stay in Montana, and two Savage rifles.
I am now a pretty big fan of the 10mm, and Glock in general.

I'd love to have a Glock 20 but nobody around here stocks 10mm
10mm is pretty expensive in itself too, of course
it's not too terrible, cheaper to feed than some of my guns at least
I'm thinking it might be interesting to get a .22-250 rifle. Apparently, my dad's childhood friend went squirrel hunting with one (even though you can kill a deer with it rather easily).
I doubt a .22 would benefit much from a bull barrel, honestly....
I'm getting it due to looks.

THIS looks much better.

I still don't like pistols where the barrel protrudes from the slide excessively.
I love the look of that first ruger so much. Somethin about those tapered barrels is just so classic
Submitted paperwork for my CCW today, and got fingerprints done. Sat in the lobby for almost 2 hours, then was in and out of the room in 15 minutes.
Now I wait 90 days.

I've always preferred this barrel type because it makes it look like a Type 14 Nambu.

charlies in the trees
or you could just buy one full auto ar-15

doesn't even take an hour here. I've got a ccw license so I get to skip the background checks
How the hell does that work? ATF requires that all FFL holders keep a copy of a 4473 on premise for 20 years. This is required for all firearms sales, regardless of state. Some states can forgo calling in the 4473 if the purchaser has a CCW, but there is no state that is exempt from 4473s that I am aware of.
You still do the 4473, but you don't have to wait for the background check to come back. The 4473 just legally removes the gun from the dealer's logbook.

I guess what I am trying to understand is why it takes so long? For me, the longest part is filling out the 4473, but even then I can fill one out completely, and entirely legible in less than 60 seconds. Being in Louisiana I am not exempt from the background check regardless of my CCW, but still the ATF phone call takes my dealers less than 60 seconds to complete. So, bar other business, the longest I've ever had a background check take was five minutes real time, then I'm out the door with my purchase. How long does it take others?
(I am fairly ignorant to many other states' gun laws)
I'm thinking of buying a Remington 700 CDL, in .300 Win Mag, to hunt boars in the Patagonia.

Thoughts?
Gun laws are a bitch where i live, so if I'm buying a gun, i want to do it right. How much does a round cost in the US?.
Late to the game on this one, but I feel the need to reply. Regardless of what Remington says, the only actual difference in the CDL and the SPS is the stock, and the blue vs. matte finish (both the same as far as finish performance). You can get a 700 SPS for less than $500, then get pillar bedded stock of your choosing, and come out with a cheaper, better rifle.
As far as .300 Win Mag ammo, it's fairly cheap. Locally I can buy a box of 20 Remington Core-Lokt 180gr PSP rounds for $19.99. You can typically find that same ammo online for even cheaper than that. I hunt with .300 Win Mag, and hunt mostly Whitetail. .300 Win Mag causes little to no meat loss compared to a .30-06. .30-06 tends to get hung up inside, and rip things apart. Hard to explain it.
Would you believe that 8mm Mauser is restricted over here, that's a load of shite.
you could go on a murder spree with your kar98!!!!
(assuming it's for a kar98)
I told my parents I wanted a mosin nagant sometime (probably once I'm done with college and moved out) and when I told them the price they were like "it must be a piece of shit"
I was like "yeahhhhhh..... no"

b-b-but the mosin IS shit.
Kidding.
It goes bang, it works, it fires cheap food, and its accurate.

Almost didn't upload this because of how bad my posture is, makes me look like a fat hunchback.
Also; my friend is a shitty cameraman, the last vid had to be rotated because he held the camera sideways.

I was actually looking at a chart of different rounds available over here, 8mm is just slightly over the restricted level, which I thought must suck for the poor lad who wants a Gewehr 88 or Kar98, while you can get a .303 Enfield here easily enough. You could still apply for the gun, just since it's restricted you have to jump through a billion hoops and are at the whim of some fat tub of lard in a garda station in Dublin.
I posted in one version of this thread some time ago, but haven't in a while. Figured I'd post my collection so far.

Left to right: mixmaster M1 Garand (mostly 1944 Springfield), 1917 Lithgow No.1 MkIII FTR'd in 1954, 1943 Izhevsk M91/30, 4/43 National Postal Meter M1 Carbine
Next on my list is either a wartime K98k or WWI vintage Gew. 98

I've got a matching Garand! Still a nice rifle though, the mixmaster doesn't take away from general beauty.
It is still a nice gun. It does have a bedding issue at the heel of the receiver though. I'm saving up for a nice CMP Garand after I get the Mauser
You still haven't told me what postal meter is.
They made mailing machines, postal meters, assorted postal equipment ect. before the war
