Yeah, it's 308. My bullet seating die was about a twist too far in, seated the bullet too low and buckled the shoulder. I'll probably pull the bullet, put the powder back in the bottle and will try to get the primer out once I get my decapper fixed.

Pulled the bullet.

I did something like that, took a double handfull of BB's and put them down the barrel with a shell and the barrel ruptured.
Also is fun to cut off the tip of shell, pour the bbs out and put in pennies bent in half. You get great taco shaped holes in your target!
Speaking of cheap single shots, I've been in the market for a 12ga. Is there any specific brand to avoid/look for? I love the look of older ones and don't particularly care for new ones, doesn't have to be real fancy or anything. My knowledge is pretty limited to milsurps and a few civvy guns (.22 etc), and I don't think matching serial numbers or missing cleaning rods should be a big issue to worry about. I know for break actions you have to check if there is a little play between the barrel and receiver, but that's about it, anything else I could look for?
You lucky Italians get to have hi-cap mags, meanwhile down here the best we can get for our Norcs is 10 on a technicality, it's supposed to be only 5...
Hence that kind of stress testing is illegal here...
It's an odd story, actually. We can buy everything like assault 100rounds drumazines, but god forbid if you actually use them. Unless you go shooting in some remote private range built innawoods or in an abandoned quarry where nobody will know or care, it's better to stick with 10-rounders if you don't want to end up in jail.
Dynamic shooting competitions also seem to be an exception, but take this with a grain of salt.
If I'm not mistaken, Finland only limits the size of the mags while hunting
Norway does that too.
Buying beta mags ain't illegal, but using them when hunting, WE'RE GONNA UNLEASH A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF FUDD ON YOU, BOY!
US allows 5 rounds for rifle, 3 for shotgun when hunting.

Arizona allows for large capacity magazines now, as well as suppressors. Also allows for you to carry restricted weapons while on a hunt, so while you can't use a pistol under .40 to take down a Deer you can still carry it.
Though really, anyone who has hunted knows it's usually a one shot deal and you've got to follow the bag limits anyway.

Shit
I always load 6 in my rifle or 8 in my shotgun for hunting

Probably the only hunting experience where follow up shots are important
No, I'm not dumb, the law has restrictions on mag cap for hunting. It's because of that an old Auto-5 I almost bought was butchered and had the magazine tube ruined.
are you dumb?
you can use a 250 round mag as long as you only load it with 2/3 rounds..
[editline]25th August 2012[/editline]
besides, beta mags are garbage
You know I get the feeling people here might actually like you if you didn't jump down everyone's throats for saying something you disagree with/ that is wrong.

He likes to make you feel like an idiot for being wrong or disagreeing or not knowing. Other than that he isn't bad.
Anyone ever seen an UZI bayonet?

I've never seen that before. That kinda falls under the lines of a pistol bayonet, it's only really usefull if you are completely out of rounds.

I didn't know SMGs had bayonets because you could just mince the guy right in front of you with it. Looks pretty sweet though.
No, there is physical limit. You're supposed to only load X rounds in a gun while it is being for hunting (1+1 in shotguns, 1+2 in rifles when hunting small game and 1+3 when hunting large game). If some oppsynsmann meets you carrying a rifle with a ten round mag you're not getting arrested. If you're keeping it loaded with 10 rounds however than that is illegal.
You could still get in trouble. It's up to the officer and if he thinks you had more then the legal limit of rounds to begin with and you shot a whole lot of them off (because you could have had more in the magazine), then he might book you for it.
I cant understand mag restrictions for hunting for the life of me.

I guess it's to encourage aiming your shots carefully to avoid the animal unneeded suffering, instead of magdumping into the deer with a slidefire stock.

No matter how fun that sounds.

Finally got to bring it home today. Bonus check took its sweet time.
And after uploading the picture I just realized the magazine wasn't seated all the way. :v:

It's kind of like trench guns having bayonets. It's really unnecessary (although it is pretty cool).
lol no waiting period so i bought the gun for $70 and walked out with it. bought 100 shells of birdshot for $20 at walmart and went to the range and blew up water bottles. now i keep it in my trunk because florida says at 18 you can have guns in your car as long as its not in arms reach
best purchase ever
[editline]25th August 2012[/editline]
oh and we filled like three shells with shit laying around in my car like potato chips, dimes, firecrackers etc and were sawing it off

These used to be issued to us, they look utterly terrifying. Apparently they were put to good use at Jadotville.
When your bayonet is longer than your gun, you know it's time to stab shit.
Just look at it, the gun is an accessory.

What is it and do they make it semi-only? I want one because it looks like it'll only cost me $10 and a pint of Guinness.

looks like its stock is made of picture frame wire, and it's grip is sawn off from a chair leg. What is that thing?

Nice, it really has this homebrew feel to it, like you could just build one yourself with some sheet metal and a spring.
