The Chauchat is exactly what popped into my head.
Oh having an open magazine isn't so bad... Oh, wait, no...
It is almost as reliable as the L85!
christ if you go on the norinco wiki page, every gun they're credited for making is a clone of something GG china
christ if you go on the norinco wiki page, every gun they're credited for making is a clone of something GG china
What, you expected them to be original? At least their copies are pretty nice. Not to mention cheap.
Still really fucking ugly though, and not in a good way
is that gun designed to be as unsightly at as possible [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] it's forward grip looks like it was taken off of a wood planer
yeah, no stop being a smartass when you know nothing the chauchat was alright until american forces went completely fucking retarded and attempted to convert a weapon made with metric measurements using imperial ones it got even worse parts got fucked up, ratios were off and tolerances were completely ignored
Open magazines are never a good thing. [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline]
is that gun designed to be as unsightly at as possible [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] it's forward grip looks like it was taken off of a wood planer
Looks like a bitch and a half to carry it and fire too.
that gun is the platypus of guns. [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] all it needs is a grip safety and no one would ever want one
yeah, no stop being a smartass when you know nothing the chauchat was alright until american forces went completely fucking retarded and attempted to convert a weapon made with metric measurements using imperial ones it got even worse parts got fucked up, ratios were off and tolerances were completely ignored
yeah guys seriously, open mags were a solid design till americans got their hands on them and they got all filled with cheez-it crumbs and burger grease!!
Yeah they worked totally fine until America made the trenches really muddy. And caused the rimmed 8mm ammunition the French used fail to chamber and fire out of battery, among every other catastrophic failure [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] Your logic doesn't even make sense. The British and Australians made the L1A1, which was an imperial measurement conversion of the metric FAL and they worked fantastically. [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] Also shows how much you know, because the .30-06 conversion of the Chauchat never even passed trials, and 99% of the Chauchats used by the A.E.F. were in 8mm Lebel. And I still don't see where you're coming from because the French also experienced all the same catastrophic failures that the Americans did. [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] Oh, and did I forget to mention that the .30-06 conversions of the Chauchat were done by the French in the French factory and every single .30-06 Chauchat was made on the same line by the same workers as the 8mm Chauchat.
yeah, no stop being a smartass when you know nothing the chauchat was alright until american forces went completely fucking retarded and attempted to convert a weapon made with metric measurements using imperial ones it got even worse parts got fucked up, ratios were off and tolerances were completely ignored
Doesn't change the fact that it was shit to begin with, and someone had the brilliant idea to skeletonize the magazine in a gun used in the trenches, full of dirt mud and blood.
nothing here just prusselusken being a retard
So, how bout them SKS's. Buy one now, or later?
So, how bout them SKS's. Buy one now, or later?
They are a lot of fun, a nice cheap semi auto rifle with an internal magazine. It also ejects spent casings 10+ feet into the air occasionally.
Nice, I'll pick up a Yugo with a blade bayonet for Christmas. Along with the Tapco 922r compliant set.

I thought the Chaucat's overriding flaw was that it was just so sloppily manufactured it made the AK look like a Mormon with Indian virgin cream with it's tolerances.
http://imgur.com/a/JcB0p#0 RUGER BRAND RUGER ACQUIRED FUCK YEAH
My uncle has that same exact model (target model).
Prussel might not necessarily be wrong, he might just be blaming issues that existed beforehand on an issue created later in the war.
So, how bout them SKS's. Buy one now, or later?
If you can find a Russian one those are almost always spectacular. The Yugos are also good. I don't reccommend the Norincos though. Also if it's a rearsenal, check to make sure the bore doesn't have any of the finish inside of it. That's typically the only major SKS issue
How hard is it to convert a Ruskie/Yugo SKS trigger-group to accept magazines? [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline] Just to clarify, I'd not touch the original trigger-group and buy a second one to modify/buy a modified one.
There are already 30rd mags for the SKS
There are already 30rd mags for the SKS
I understand that, that's not what I'm asking. The original 10rnd integrated magazine is fine and all, but how hard is it to convert an original trigger group to accept detachable magazines?
