Wait what
Is the concept of "Wasting police's time over and over for bullshit reasons" overlooked in Norway and somehow unpunished?
I guess he appeared like a legitimately concerned citizen the first couple of times :v:
You couldn't do that at our local place
First you'd have to pick a driveway

To get a sense of scale, the Duncan range is about 900m long
Not shown is the second clay shooting area 2km down the road from there, which is basically a firing line, 50m of clearing, then nothing but bushland
Lucky bastard :v: This range is just 3-5 minutes away from a town, and 20-30 minutes away from a city. Shooting in Norway is quite regulated. Nobody but IPSC are allowed to shoot at steel. (i mean christ what)
Anybody got levergun recommendations? Dad is gonna pick me up a gun for Christmas because we plan to go on an innawoods trip, so I'd like to start thinking about what to get.

model 336 in .45-70 or.444, or 1895 in 7.62x54 or .30-06
Price Range... Otherwise 30-30 is fun, pistol calibers are nice, but 45-70 is king in my opinion.
you should probably just go with a bolt gun though, lever actions are dead for a good reason
Lever actions are 'dead' because the design has been so worn out. There really isn't much you can do to the gun to make it any different than it all ready is.
That's not saying that they are bad guns. They are magnificent and serve their own purpose.

There is, it's just you get lynched if you try to change it.

They're dead because bolt action guns are far superior..

Bolt actions are very boring. I'll be getting the levergun for the satisfaction of working the action and wasting copious amounts of .357/.44/.45
Still they look great and have that "why the fuck not" fashion.
Plus they come in calibers I haven't seen yet on bolt-actions (except for modded ones) like .357, .44, .45-70 etc.

I've seen Ruger bolts factory made in .357 and .44.
I see lever actions as kind of how they were made for back in the mid 1800's, aside from rapid fire.
I like to think of them as a carbine that uses the same round as the pistol you carry on your hip, and used when you need more accuracy, or want a more refined shooting experience.
Jesus, $550 for an SKS? I remember getting my Tula 1952 for $280 just over a year ago. The fact that it comes with the original import box and all the accessories does make it a bit more valuable and I understand the value has gone up, but still.
Looking at his other prices it seems like he's overpricing like a mofo. Even with a tin of ammunition a PSL isn't worth $1200.
I'm with you on that one.I have a 1950 Tula, second rifle I've ever owned. Bought it for $200 even.
Now I can't find one for under $400.
Yeah the P-64's are nice, basically a good clone of the PPK but with how small they are, the muzzle flip and recoil is a bit much for a first time shooter, I can handle the recoil of a .40 full size perfectly fine. But the smaller ppk's and P-64's are a different story, I can handle them but it's not like a full size pistol where I could pop off rounds back to back. I'd save up a bit more and get a full size pistol in 9mm or .40 and get something like a Beretta, Glock, Taurus or Sig Sauer.
I have shot plenty of other handguns just fine, like a much smaller .380 auto and a .44 magnum contender.

They might be "boring" for your tastes, but they're much more reliable, accurate, sturdy and efficient.
I had a conversation with my dad that is relevant to this one, last year he went hunting with his marlin .30-30 lever action and shot a deer, twice. it jumped like 9 ft in the air both times and bolted into the forest and it never left a trace, only a single drop of blood on the ground.
This year when he went down there and said he saw 2 doe and a buck, and the buck had a limp. he didnt have his hunting rifles so in a weeks he said he would switch over to his k98 re-chambered in .270 win.
I've hit deer with a .30-30 and it just drop right to the ground. His shot placement must be less than ideal.
A vitals shot should drop a deer pretty quickly.
Yeah, sounds like he was deliberately shooting it in the leg or stomach.

Lacks a 37mm "rocket launcher", not a real media guide

Also lacks a laser sight that makes you a true sniper
Needs some Hollow-point armour-piercing cop killer bullets too.

All the deer killed by 30-30 in its years of existence would like a word with the deer your dad shot... twice.

Don't forget that it can shoot Heavy-Anti-Air-Armor-Piercing-Baby-Cop-killer tipped ammunition.

fun>practicality.
Whenever I hear .270, .264, 30-30 and similar calibers, I end up thinking "FUDDFUDDFUDDFUDDFUDDFUDD"
I can't help it, it's like a disease to me :v:
I don't understand why people buy rifles then have them rechambered in a different caliber. If you want a .270, buy a .270 instead of ruining a nice historical rifle.
In Norway, 98's are abundant, it's our Nugget to put it in a perspective, that's why we have a lot them sporterized and customized for hunting.
