When I get an Artillery Luger, I'll put a M203 on it. Because I can.
:v:
So my new toy shipped today, supposed to arrive Tuesday. Now begins the hunt for at least 20 cartridges so I may actually be able to use it sometime this decade.
There is like no 6.5x50mm ANYWHERE in this country.
I love it, I don't own a Nagant and there are a zillion auctions selling 440 round cans for around $50-60 bucks on gunbroker.
>Get Nagant for Christmas
>all of the auctions are replaced by far more expensive auctions

Wouldn't look that bad. Maybe one could just try to shorten it a little...
Folding stock would make it even more vag-wettening, methinks. Ribbed upper receiver, East German bakelite grips, Kobra optics or PSO-1, and an RPK mag, too. Shit, this is gonna cost a lot.
Honestly I've never been able to do stuff like that because it's a take what you can get kind of situation. For gods sake to get a folding stock I had to get a blacksmith to make one.

Can't you just get an AK that already has a folding stock, then go from there? Shouldn't be too hard to replace the upper receiver and slap on a new grip.
Ahh, that's better.

Damn, that's nice. Full body shot?

I don't even want to imagine how hot that gas tube would be after a mag dump.

I'm unsure if this combo looks ridiculous, awesome or both. :v:
I'll deffo get a varmint barrel and Hogue overmolded stock sometime so it doesn't look so puny, though. It looks so odd when you compare the proportions..
Well, I realize now that I basically just saved my money on purchasing the gun to put the difference towards reloading supplies, because I have to order all of them from out of the country, get the bullets, powder, primers, and find or make cases for 6.5x50mm Jap. I'm just thankful I already have free access to a reloading press, or that'd be another at least $60 down the drain on it too.
Also, Hornady dies are fucking expensive, they want $90 for something Lee wants only $40, granted the Hornady die has a built-in crimper, not sure about the Lee, and the Lee says for 6.5x50 it doesn't come with one of their "factory crimper" dies.
I think I need to read a book or two sometime soon about this reloading shit...
[editline]29th February 2012[/editline]
Just found a die set for it from RCBS, they want $140 and don't tell me shit all about what it is that's included in the set on their website.

So I shouldn't try and modify it at all? Where's the fun in that? As long as I'm handy enough to get the job done, why not do it?

"Take what you can get" as in you can't get all that stuff on an AK over here, in fact you technically can't get an AK over here without jumping through a thousand hoops, so when you acquire one it's whatever you get on it.

Where is "over here"? I'm in Arizona, so all you need is a driver's license for most guns. Not sure about a scary black rifle with tactical assault clips, though.
Oh god I'm having a flashback to Firearms V.

Gun laws in Ireland are in La-la land more or less. I wouldn't describe my self as a reputable character when it comes to gun Laws, but it really is a lot of nonsense.

Ah, that explains it. When did Garry take away the flagdogs? They were useful as hell.
god dammit why does surplus ammo for .303 not exist?
And i'm talking about ammunition that hasn't been sitting in a building in a middle of a desert in India or Pakistan in 40 degree weather.
I mean you'd figure that .303 surplus ammunition would be common as fuck in Australia, but nope.
I'm hoping to get atleast commercial .303 for cheap at a gunshow next month.

Nor here in Canada, but that's partially because we still use .303 in the army for like one ranger battalion, and because people bought it all decades ago, and because Canada apparently has a policy of "smelt before surplus" on our old army crap, and it's likely that Aus and Britland, the other 2 main users of .303, have a similar policy.

There ya go, it's also missing the cleaning kit that usually comes in the stock, but I am not too worried about it. Might pick one up just to "complete" the rifle though.

Australian millitary surplus .303 ran out many years ago. The ADF stopped using it in the 70s
Welcome to Norway, we feed terrorists on our taxes, so you don't have to!
Hey, do you guys know if it's legal to have firearms shipped to P.O. boxes or not?
Hey, do you guys know if it's legal to have firearms shipped to P.O. boxes or not?
I would be inclined to say no. But then again I have never tried it.
Erm...If I remember correctly it is not legal. You have to go through FFL dealers and such.
