First gun should be what you're comfortable shooting. TT-33 is a great weapon. Not too much recoil. If you want a .22 get a Ruger Mark III.
I'd rather get the TT-33 to be honest. Rossia strong. Also I heard if you learn with a gun that has a lot of kick you develop a twitch while firing or some shit. Any truth to that?
Very much so. My first gun was a .40S&W with an atrocious trigger. Took me years to unlearn the flinch I developed from it.
With that in mind, is a TT-33 a good choice?
I was actually thinking of getting a TT-33, how good are those as a first gun? Or should a first gun always be a .22lr rifle?
A 22 rifle would be one of the most important ones. But it doesn't have to be the first. Smith & Wesson makes an alright 22 pistol for around $250 (22A I think it's called). Ruger and Browning are where its at as far as 22 pistols are concerned. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
With that in mind, is a TT-33 a good choice?
Well they should be good and seem to be mild on the recoil. Just mind you're not going to have the greatest flexibility as far as ammo is concerned (it's seriously not as common and cheap as you would think). And there's the limited capacity plus how many other guns out there use that ammo? Not a lot. Don't let that money burn a hole in your pocket and just wait till you have the means for something better. Something in 9mm. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
Very much so. Would I be correct in guessing it was a S&W Sigma? Because what you're saying sure sounds like one.

Speaking of my FAL, the fire selector has "Auto" on it, but it cannot shoot auto, due to the fact the cut for the auto sear wasn't made :c
Wow, you guys have good timing, I was thinking of picking up a TT-33 as I purchase that bipod and scope. If you're living in the states and have never checked out this website, I highly suggest it. http://www.gunsamerica.com/ Yes, the name sounds like something from GTA :v:
Wow, you guys have good timing, I was thinking of picking up a TT-33 with the scope and the tripod.
The fuck are you talking about?
Speaking of my FAL, the fire selector has "Auto" on it, but it cannot shoot auto, due to the fact the cut for the auto sear wasn't made :c
then do it yourself then get on the fbi's terrorist watch list
Maybe he was talking about Tikka T-3?
Lol no I mean while I purchase those for my nugget you freaks :v: [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Like as in I'll make that purchase while I make the other two
Goddamnit no, we had this discussion like ten hours ago [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Although I will admit that would be kinda hilarious
buy an M2 tripod and pount the nugget on it bring to range record as everyone asks you what the fuck you're doing
FTFY
That strikes me as totally worth it :v:

Some idiot on reddit keeps a handgun under his pillow. His excuse when I pointed out that that's the absolute stupidest place to keep a handgun was that he doubts he could chamber a round and shoot himself because 'he always keeps it unloaded'. I fucking hate people. He's the kind of idiot that's going to end up on the news because he blew his face off.
I can't remember if I've ever posted this pic here but this is most of my guns its just missing some of my 22's.
He supposedly has 17 handguns and a concealed carry license in New York, so he OBVIOUSLY knows better than me and it's OBVIOUSLY completely safe to keep a handgun under his pillow. Sigh. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Doh, automerge. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Dammit, I shouldn't have come back here, now I want to buy guns. :v:

If it's unloaded he's completely defeating the point :v:
Wouldn't the point of keeping a handgun under your pillow be that you're ready to rumble if something goes down? If it's unloaded he's completely defeating the point :v:
This would be the point and that would be what defeats it. But then again the whole gun under pillow is bad if he should be robbed and the police ask ever so kindly why he didn't keep a handgun in a safe but decided he should leave it under the pillow for the nugget fairy to change for a box of ammo.
Wouldn't the point of keeping a handgun under your pillow be that you're ready to rumble if something goes down? If it's unloaded he's completely defeating the point :v:
He probably does it because Will Smith did in I, Robot.
I can't decide what kind of handgun I want. On one hand, there's the M1911 which is probably my favorite firearm of all time, but expensive as hell if you want a good from what I hear, and on the other hand there's the glocks, which are still pretty badass looking and not AS expensive, and on the third hand there's probably some handgun I've never heard of before that is just as amazing as those. :v:

But apparently the ammunition isn't as ubiquitous as I first thought, can someone elaborate on that?
A kid on my Odyssey of The Mind team had a 9mm para shell in his pocket, no bullet or powder, but with the primer intact :pwn:

Its still around, and is still cheap, but its getting pricier and harder to find, and will continue to be that way unless someone unearths a warehouse in Poland or something full of the stuff.
Did a little research. Opinions on Glock 17 and CZ-75? :v:
An alternative is that surplus tends to go in waves, where it will dry up for a few years and then flood the market, and 7.62x25 might just by in the dry at the moment. Could be some import issues as well, or something like that.
We were just talking about the TT-33, look into getting one of those if you don't want to spend that much money. But apparently the ammunition isn't as ubiquitous as I first thought, can someone elaborate on that?
Iunno what people are talking about 2280 rounds of Czech surplus from the '60s is $300 and the gun, up here at least, is $200. I find I shoot it better with one hand than 2, it's a slim gun. Generally they come with holster, cleaning rod, and a spare mag. They're damn powerful, the thing causes all the shit on my shooting table to jump when I fire it. Takes some getting used to to use effectively at 25m. As for other guns using that round, there's the WWII SMGs from Russia, several CZ pistols, and a modern SMG known as the Bison. Commercially the rounds are pricey, to get a 50 round box is over $20, but the surplus is dirt cheap and still available in most places.
Both are excellent handguns.
Okay, and for a novice handgun user, which would you recommend? I was thinking the Glock just because I've heard they're extremely easy to use. EDIT: Nobody say that extremely obvious typo. Nobody.
I fucking love the CZ-series, and I WILL get one soon, if not at least a TT-33.
