Get the CETME.
Is there anyway to find a CETME in the States that isn't by Century Arms? I've heard too many bad things about them.

You get what you pay for with a Century CETME, but from what I have heard, they are pretty hit or miss. Not universally bad, but some work great and some have problems.
My dad wants a handgun as well, so I think we are going for either a Glock or a Springfield XDm.
Apparently the older Centuries are much better quality than the newer ones, so try to grab one of those if you can.
Springfield XDm.
THIS!!! THIS TO INFINITY!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUd_00Xrf_U This guy is awesome.
Strikes me as a bit of a dick. I can see what he's trying to get at, but still.
Strikes me as a bit of a dick. I can see what he's trying to get at, but still.
Yeah, but if you're a true American today you see what he's trying to do.
Yeah, but if you're a true American today you see what he's trying to do.
This guy is a troll. If I remember correctly, he was open carrying an AK-47 pistol in a park, and he painted the muzzle brake orange to make it look like a toy. Later on he found an old law that would allow him to carry a cap and ball revolver in his hand, so he did it. Dude makes respectable gun owners look bad.
He inspires awe alright, just not the good kind.

But breaching the peace is a crime. If you make people feel unsafe then your breaching the peace. Fucking A this isn't fucking Somalia... dumb prick.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUd_00Xrf_U This guy is awesome.
No he is not awesome. He is exactly what pro-gun control people love, completely irrational, stupid, and selfish. I live in texas, it has some of the most extreme castle laws. I can open carry if i wish, but is it the right thing to do? No, it scares the fuck out of people. A lot of people want to say "Well they shouldn't be afraid, it is just a gun." This country has gone though a shit ton of stuff, lots of shootings, gunmen and other events that people just don't want to deal with. Seeing someone with an AK slung on their back is going to create a panic, therefor it is a public safety issue. Seeing this shit will only enforce the idea of banning/controlling firearms. People don't remember the good and responsible gun owners, only the bad ones. Just because you can do something does not mean you should. Think about other peoples rights and their safety. There is no reason to open carry a rifle unless you're at some event, gunshow, or anything of the sorts. This isn't the wild west.
Yeah, but if you're a true American today you see what he's trying to do.
lolwhat?
I remember back in November a couple months before OC was banned in California, there were some guys OCing their ARs at a fair in my city. Everyone pretty much flipped out, but I think they would have flipped out even if they were OCing pistols since I live in one of the more liberal parts of the state.
In Canada you can technically legally carry an unloaded pistol classified as an "antique," because it's technically not a firearm, but people would shit a brick and the police would find some reason to charge you. The only time people carry an antique, and they carry it loaded, is when hunting, because they're legally allowed to and they want defence against game if it gets too close and their rifle is unloaded or something.

Proplem is though, to be antique it must have been made before 1901 and the ammo "must not be readily available"
If you are looking for a high quality HK91 clone, then yes. The gun is very heavy though.
Do you own one?
Do you own one?
No, but the Hk91 community thinks it's a great gun. The parts are interchangeable with the hk91. It is very accurate. Picked one up at the a shop, very heavy. Many people have said it is very accurate.
What defines an antique in Canada?
The short answer, dumb nonsensical shit that really doesn't properly define "antique." The long answer: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/antique-historique-eng.htm
Wasn't there a squad of redneck ~~~|||BORDA PATROLY|||>>~~++ guys at Occupy NY with ARs jsut standign around.
I have to deal with folks like that here in Arizona occasionally. They call themselves the "Minutemen", but honestly everyone around here just calls them "militant assholes".
All they are trying to do is legally scare people, and it doesn't help us sane gun owners anywhere
All they are trying to do is legally scare people, and it doesn't help us sane gun owners anywhere
Most of the stores down here just refuse to serve them because they scare off customers.
Most of the stores down here just refuse to serve them because they scare off customers.
The only time I could see it being acceptable is during war or a riot or something similar

I'm guessing that there's some ancient thing in the US constitution that encourages groups like these or there simply isn't a law that bans armed pseudo-military groups.

But I'm sure it says "Well regulated millita"
Alright, so it is decided. It all depends on what the gun store has and how much money I can get. Either a Glock-17, a Springfield XDm in .45ACP, or a PTR-91.
