I'd recommend the G17 it's just the most universal and easiest to get things for. And generally awesome.

That was what I was thinking too. It has the lowest initial expense, the cheapest ammo, and mags and accessories out the wazoo.
And those aren't evne the reasons it became this popular in the first place.
Alright, so it is decided. It all depends on what the gun store has and how much money I can get.
Either a Glock-17, a Springfield XDm in .45ACP, or a PTR-91.
Go with the XDm. It's the ugliest thing you will ever fall in love with.
I don't like the XDm. It's got the ergonomics of a power drill.

Well, the power drills I have are damn comfy to operate. The only drawbacks I found so far is that they don't fire bullets.
Finland got you covered:

I keep seeing that... thing... getting posted around various sites, but I never found a scheme on how it works. If it works at all.
Clearly the drill operates a revolver with a minigun-style firing mechanism.
I open carry my shotgun/rifle thorught the year depending on what the hunting season is and noone complains or gives a fuck because they open carry too. Such is life in the country.
Just got a Mosin Nagant from cabelas, and i was wondering where the safety is?

There isn't one. You can quarter-turn the bolt though.

Speaking of Nuggets, just got back from shooting mine. I love it. Shot it with one hand, never again oh my. Also sliced my finger on the ammo tin, blood everywhere.

You close the bolt, then pull the knob on the back of the bolt and turn. That's the safety, but not worth using since it's a bolt gun.

.45-70
$850
Kind of want it, but ammo is expensive as fuck here..
I've allways wanted one of those in 450 Marlin, with a 16inch bull barrel, 2-4x scope
With two sets of ammo, one loaded to 44 Magnum velocities and the other to the full 450 Marlin velocities, I gan take any game in Australia
I've got my sights set on buying a general purpose (clays, HD, maybe hunting) 12 gauge shotgun for about $200, any suggestions?
Baikal, either S/S or O/U, it will outlast your entire family tree, and stateside you might get two for $200

Probably should've specified that I want a pump action. But those look pretty cool...
H&R Pardner Protector
I've heard some decent things about them.
As I said, buy TWO Baikals, go akimbo and any home invaders will think you are SuPaH-l33T-420-0P3R4T0R and run away :v:

How would that compare to a Maverick 88, which I've heard is a poor man's 500?

Where do you find those double barrels for ~$100? I only see single shots at that price.
I just guessed that you could get two for 200$, as Norwegian prices are marketprices + 25% Stately WE HATE YOU taxes
I can only find the Baikals for $300 a piece.
Russian import ban in the US, likely not going to find many Baikals there because of it. We have some Baikals up here for cheap, their O&U/SxS are still ~$500, their single shots are $150, and we have a 3.5" semi from them for $600 at the store.
Mossberg Maverick 88's are even more economy mossbergs. They're very very cheap.
They ARE NOT rangemasters. They're built to be shot a few times to be comfortable with and then stored up till when you need it most.
If you're going to go for a Mossberg go for the 590A1's.
Edit:
OH my...$200? Erm...Those H&R Pardners I guess. They're Chinese 870 clones. They seem to be alright.
buying my first 10/22 tomorrow
*fanfare*

What parts of their design suggests that they aren't built for everyday use? Regardless, I might just save up 100$ more and just buy a 500.
Just shot my first Glock 17 today. Fuck everything else, this is the only gun I need.
where can i find the cheapest 7.62x54R ammo?

you can buy bulk surplus cans for pretty cheap. i think cheaper than dirt has them.

Shot one at a range last week. I literally found myself buying 3 more boxes of expensive range ammo just to shoot it more.
