Rabbit and birds. For the most part hunting anything larger would make me go through a ticket draw, and theirs no guarantee that I would be able to go hunting for deer and such.
I suppose as long as the bird is perching you could hit it with a .22, most people take shotguns, of various gauges, depending on the bird, and I've even heard of people hunting rabbit with a shotgun...
.22s are not usually thought of for hunting, even varmints, most people get them for plinking because they're dirt cheap to buy and feed. Besides, you probably don't even need to sell your AK, you can find cheap semi-auto .22s in the $100-$200 range, including, from memory, a Remington 597 for as low as $150 and a cheap Marlin for either $130 or $140, and I think Marlin and Savage both had bolt actions for under $200, including the Lakefield series, made here in Ontario.
Well my issue with the AK is more-or-less the fact when my sister went to sell my draco pistol she gave all my surplus ammo[about 500-600 Rounds worth] too the gunshop. With me without a job, and moving soon I rather just sell the AK and keep my Makarov and arrive in North Dakota with cash to buy me a hunting rifle and maybe a new fishing rod storage.
Not again...
I think I'll hunt rabbits with Ol' Bessie. Gibe to dad for bunny jerky.
.22LR is plenty for mink, marten, weasel and grouse..
Do you really think it's just a peashooter round?
You realize it's still a bullet, right?
Let me shoot you five times in the chest with CCI Stinger, then?
If you shoot someone five times in the chest with anything they'll go down.

Tell that to BBs or even Paintballs

Hell, it's the round that has killed most people in murders and accidents. It's a shitty stopper but it's a quick killer.
I meant for this statistic:
If you shoot someone five times in the chest with anything they'll go down.
We'll just shoot you once then. After that, you'll be able to tell us if it hurt or not.
What do you think?
... Timebomb?

...oh, right. Dead.
sit down and think about the following:
which round is the most available one?
which round has the least recoil?
which round is cheapest?
which round is very easy to surpress?
which round is incredibly underrated?
so you just pulled that statistic out of your ass then
so you just pulled that statistic out of your ass then
Might be, but since .22lr has been around for a long time, it's really cheap, available fucking everywhere and perfectly capable of killing things to death, I wouldn't be surprised if it had some of the highest killcounts (not counting military rounds).

IIRC, 22LR is involved in the majority of criminal shootings... maybe be wrong but I heard that somewhere... I think.
Would $300.00 for a third model Dragoon be a deal?
It's still a bullet, it'll kill you as dead as the next bullet would.

Me and my buddy were bullshitting last night about what the best pocket pistol is, so far we have decided that cutting down a .50cal BFR to a 3/4 inch barrel is the most effective.

.22lr was used by both the school shooters in Europe a few years ago as well as the kid in Ohio last month.
thinking of turning my 10/22 into this for the lulz

gonna mock it up like the Morita rifle from starship troopers, yes or yes?
Can we stop the arguments over the effectiveness of a 22? We do this several times in each thread. It's old.

You can still shoot .410 out of a .45-70 barrel (not just a .45 colt), but it seems to be less recommended. Accuracy probably wouldn't get too messed up by rifling since there isn't much rifling to speak of on a derringer (granted there isn't much accuracy either).

Just mentally picturing this is actually damn hilarious :v:
Shot my first guns while on vacation overseas. First gun was an M16A2 if I remember right, it had single and auto on its fire selector. It was everything I expected it to be, little to no recoil, very lightweight, and pretty accurate. Next I shot an AK47 or maybe some other variant, I'm not to keen on recognizing different rifle variants, I remember the guy loading 7.62 rounds into the magazine. It was really something else I did not expect. For one its weight was heavier than I expected, its kick was stronger than I thought too but it I liked it, it was harder to keep it on target but it was my first time shooting one. Afterwards I shot an M14, had it set up with its bipod deployed on a small sturdy table while I sat behind it in a chair, its kick was noticeably harder than the AK even though they were shooting the same caliber, it was way heavier, and good lord the kick, I felt it in my shoulder the whole ride home. The most memorable thing about shooting though was the smell of gunpowder, it was so enticing. I want to shoot some more, I can't wait to buy my first gun. Probably start off with a pistol, maybe a M1911. It's so sexy.
Last time on the range before I went home I shot the M16 again, the guy was nice enough to let me load the cartridges into the magazine and load the gun myself. Since I shot it before I knew what to expect and that time around was my best session the whole vacation. While I shot the guy working there told me which part of the target to shoot at, 3 in the head, 3 in the chest, and 2 wherever I wanted. Grouping was nice with 4 of the chest shots really close to the center, 3 of the shots to the head grouped real nice as well and the last round going through the target's ear giving it a nice earring. I don't remember the range at which I was shooting, I'm assuming its "regulation" distance if there is one.
Just to clarify an AK-47 shoots 7.62x39
