Here's a Mauser K98kF1 and Mosin Nagant M44 I've refinished with SCHERELL's Schaftol Extra Dunkel [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22107915/Die%20waffen/mnm44%20og%20k98kf1.JPG[/t]
I've always had a soft spot for those M44's. Really like the way they looked.
Can anyone suggest a good accurate .22 pistol for match shooting?
No? It's a fairly simple and small rail system. This right here: http://www.combathunting.com/MOSIN_NAGANT-Mosin_Nagant_Scope_Mount_System_With_Bolt_handle.html According to Commie all you have to do is take off the rear sight and mount the rail over where it was, then it's just a matter of a gunsmith exchanging the bolt handle for you. Gotta get quote on that but he said I'm looking at under $100. [editline]24th March 2012[/editline] Do you have a sliding stock on that? I always found the concept of those things amazing. An extra piece of metal and plastic that turns a civilian assault rifle into a military grade fully automatic.
No, that's not the Slidefire stock. It's just a standard M4 collapsible stock.
Yes.. you have to get the front receiver bridge drilled and tapped for two screws holding the mount on.
Fucking tits. Is that something I can do myself? Or should I go to a gunsmith for it? And if so how much is a gunsmith going to charge me? (Estimate)
Finally got my AY-YAR FIFTEEN the way I want it.
Vityaz don't you live in cali? How did you get your AR with all the "evil" features?
Can anyone suggest a good accurate .22 pistol for match shooting?
Browning Buckmarks are damn accurate and right out the box the have an awesome trigger. They've got nice heavy barrels on them and are very consistent shooters. Though my gripe with them is they are a finicky with garbage ammo. They can be hard to take apart aswell. But the more familiar you get with any gun the easier it gets to take care of them. The alternative is a Ruger Mark III with a bull barrel. Which I've heard alot of good things about them aswell. Others out there which I've heard good things about but have never been able to handle are the Beretta Neos (which looks like a spess gun) and the S&W 22 revolvers.
[thumb]http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/9/92/SteyrM95Short.jpg[/thumb] Always wanted one of these... and while they are only 90 bucks or so... I can justify the ammo cost... but maybe. It's a Steyr Mannlicher M95/30 (For those that didn't know)
Neat guns for sure. Probably not worth shooting a whole lot (Get a K-31 if you want a straight pull with cheaper ammo), but still very cool. I think if these had been chambered in 7.92 Mauser, everyone would have one because of how cheap they are. You can still reload 8x56R for under 50 cents a round, but its seems to be a pain in the ass.
So I shot my AKM-74 and my 10/22 yesterday. I sighted in the 10/22 after slapping on some $40 3x9 optic, and fed it all CCI mini-mag, and a mag of federal bulk. To my surprise, the .22 required almost no cleaning, even after running 150 rounds through it. Usually I have to scrape off all the caked on lead and residue and shit with Remington Gold ammo. The 74 was a blast to shoot, but after 40 rounds the gas tube was already really hot and my brother accidentally burned himself on it (Easy mistake to make for someone who has only shot 2 other times). We only fired 60 rounds through it, but it was far dirtier than the .22. Maybe it was the silver bear I was feeding it?

It makes me curious if this could be re-chambered to handle something more common... and if it would be worth the investment of time/cash to do it... well good food for thought at any rate.
Vityaz don't you live in cali? How did you get your AR with all the "evil" features?
I thought maybe he had a bullet button, but nope. Pre-ban receiver?
Vityaz don't you live in cali? How did you get your AR with all the "evil" features?
Vityaz is in the Marines (I think) so maybe he gets special privileges?
Vityaz is in the Marines (I think) so maybe he gets special privileges?
I was thinking the same thing but i highly doubt that you get special privileges for being in maroons/army/ air force whatever
Garand KB came into the store today. This kid saved up to buy it & was proud to have it. Then he bought some overloaded garbage ammo at the gun show today & blew up his gun. The shooter didn't have a scratch on him amazingly.

that poor poor garand :(
.
The garand, the poor, poor garand. :(

Normally I use a S&W .22, but someone drilled the cylinder to accept .22 magnum. The shells expand after firing and the bullets tend to tumble, so it is pretty much ruined wich leads me to the consideration of getting my own match pistol. The Ruger seems like something I'd like to give a try.
I was thinking the same thing but i highly doubt that you get special privileges for being in maroons/army/ air force whatever
I believe if you are stationed over here, you can bring any weapons that you legally own. I think.
explodey garand
;_; WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
The shooter didn't have a scratch on him amazingly.
I like to think the Garand's last thought was about protecting his owner. RIP, you were one hell of a soldier. The dude is still dumb for loading a Garand with shitty gunshow reloads, though.
I'm looking to buy (a few) bullet casings in pretty much any shape and from as many brands and calibers as possible, so if any of you wanna make a few (!) bucks and can ship to Austria let me know.
I would kill for an M1 Garand... Well saying that in a firearm forum probably a bad idea BUT I WANT ONE!
I'm not looking for high quantities like that, generally 1-3 of the same type.
I have the following: 150+ shotgun shells in different lengths from different manufacturers 30+ 7,62x51 NATO casings from Denmark, South Africa and Greece. Multiple lots and years 20+ 7,62x54R casings from Barnaul, steel with green lacquer and red waterproofing Couple .45ACP, 9mm Para, .38spcl .22S, .22LR, .22WMR I need about three fiddy
Just casings? Also, would 7.62x54r go up in price before a nugget does? I'm debating on whether to buy a spam can before I buy this one fiddy nugget i've had my eye on
Well I'm pretty sure he's not talking about actual ammo, cause he can't ship that shit overseas. [editline]24th March 2012[/editline] And I'm not looking for that/need that/could use that

Other than that, I have 3 5.56x45 and 1 12 gauge, but I don't want to get rid of those since those are trophies from my first shooting session.
I gotta figure out a way to figure out the weight of casings so I can come up with shipping and packaging costs... Any ideas?
Gah that poor poor Garand. I also feel sorry for kid that he didn't know that Gun Show ammo is the worst of the worst you can possibly buy :(
i'm talking about empty shells and casings Neat!, 7,62x54r won't turn expensive anytime soon. there's still warehouses full of pallets of spam cans.
By the way, did you get a hold of those Arma Agora guys? I'm really wondering what happened to theNuggets they had.
