Ontario and Gerber are really nice though.
Ontario is cheap too
to be honest though, the nagant revolver really isn't good for much else other than a collectible.
It's got a horrid DA trigger pull, takes a long time to reload, and the ammo is expensive as fuck.
It was never really meant to be a combat pistol anyways. It was built as an officer's weapon to "encourage" men to stay on the battlefield and as a lastlastlastlastlast resort.
Wait, when did my province start making knives? We don't have anything from a company called Ontario Spec Plus actually IN Ontario.
Gerber is horrible. Brittle, bad steel. Leatherman is the best brand out there.
And who actually use the DA on officer Nagants either way? Any sensible person uses it in SA (which you have to if you have a private's).
I've been using my Gerber folder as a work knife for probably 4-5 years now, haven't had any issues with it.
Alright alright, sorry for the delay. Here's the plans for your very own Chechnya-brand submachinegun.
While possessing and sharing this file is legal, building it is both risky and manufacture of a post-1986 unregistered automatic weapon. I'm not responsible if you blow off your hand and/or the ATF uses you as a rowboat. Enjoy! :v:
Went down to a gun show earlier today. Left with my very own nugget!

Any tips on cleaning out all the little traces of cosmoline here and there?

Hoppe's 9 cleaned mine up. Just take it apart and hit it with Hoppe's and patches. Make sure you run a patch down the barrel.
The fuck is the cleaning kit pouch made of? Leather?
And you could try either putting it in the stove, in a plastic bag in the car on a warm day or simply into boiling water. All three options heat up the cosmoline and gets it running.
That is a bit much...Hoppe's 9 will clean it just fine. You're making a mountain out of an ant hill.
I agree with you that for residue on metal, a good solvent is the way to go, but if you really want all the cosmoline out of the stock, you need to heat it up. Hoppe's #9 will only break up the surface residue.
I'm only really after the bits hidden away in the nooks and crannies the vendor missed. Are there any problems with the cosmoline being in the stock?
Break cleaner on all the metal. Seriously, I watched the cosmoline just drip off my SVT when I sprayed it with break cleaner.

Some wood cleaner will fix the stock/furniture.

Well then we will have to disagree. I have never had an issue with me Cold Steel, and getting it for $50 is a hell of a deal. Mine is very well built and feels very solid in my hand. If I ever have an issue with my knife I will be sure to let you know.
Depends on how much cosmoline is stuck in the wood. When something's been stored in a warehouse in Ukraine for 70 years covered in cosmoline, the stuff seeps into the wood and stays there until it's warm enough to run.
If it's that bad, sand it down and refinish it.
Apparently my dad has himself a Wee Enfield. The thing is though that the Feds painted green stripes over the stock and handguard to say "This is reel ak47 glock dont toch"
Ovens work well at removing cosmoline.
Is it just me or is the barrel bent where it meets the receiver.
It's the camera they used. very fish-eyed.

I blame us too.

I wonder if they're still good.
They will probably be fine.
Just thought I should tell you guys,
I've been converted to the ways of the Hoppes #9.
I am now a believer, hallelujah!
As promised, my new Sig! .40 SP2022. Threw in my 1911 as a bonus :v:

And in fine Facepunch Firearms tradition, pens through the trigger guards.
I like that vintage look on the 1911. Very nice grips.

Wait, .22 magnum, makes sense
Faze youtube has this amazing thing called a search bar, try it some time yeah?
Also another good channel is lifesizedpotato he mostly collects weird looking pistols, disasembles them, reviews them and a some history on them etc great quality channel.
Speaking of interesting youtube channels, I almost forgot Drake.
If a weapon served in anything before and including World War 2, he probably has it.

I did that, I tried youtube.com/channelname and nothing was found. So someone is misspelling these, though I did find lifesizedpotato, spelled actually lifesizepotato.
theARMORYchannel just puts me in hysterics every time I watch it.
His stuff also makes FANTASTIC parody material.
Older Gerber stuff is good, but new productions are pretty tame (just like e.g. Remington).
I don't keep up to date on knives, I'm basing my opinions on other people's Gerbers from the 90s, so yeah
