Guys, I'm just wondering (seeing as I'm not too experienced myself)
What's best, 9mm or .45ACP?
Now that's an age old argument :v:
Personally I love the .45, but a 9x19 will kill you the same. Plus, IMO 1911s are pretty much the sexiest handguns ever made (no I'm not implying that's the only firearm chambered in .45ACP). After owning a 9x19, .40, and .45, I don't think I'm ever going to stray from .45 again. I like my SIG in .40, but the .45 is just... it's just awesome, let's go with that.
I liked my cabelas game, the shotgun's shot would stay grouped together for infinity
and it had a bullet camera
and i shot into the sky
and fucking killed a trophy bison across a forest
fuck yeah.
Cabela's hunting games were always surprisingly fun.

Yes. Yes they can.

Why is it so hard to find 7.62x38mmR for the Nagant Revolver? ):
Why is it so hard to find 7.62x38mmR for the Nagant Revolver? ):
Cause that's the only service weapon that ever fired the cartridge and said weapon happens to be over one hundred years old :v:
(there were a couple submachine guns chambered in 38R but they never saw service / were adopted)
I've found the Prvi Partizan for pretty good prices.

both .32 H&R Magnum and .32 S&W long will chamber and fire in a nagant but won't make the gas seal which isn't really an issue unless you're suppressing it

fiocchi sells 7.62 nagant ammunition as well. pretty cheap too, around $30 for a 50 round box
[editline]25th March 2012[/editline]
a lot of nagant shooters do handload though, even though the brass has a pretty short life
How exactly would you handload a nagant cartridge when it has that strange brass casing over the bullet?
the die would crimp the neck
and that's why the brass has such a short life. you generally get about 2-3 reloads out of each round from what I've seen
Ah. From the repeated stress of crimping, firing and expanding the crimp, then recrimping it. Yeah I can see how that would be hard on the metal.
Found 50 round boxes for $25. Not a bad price. Out of stock, but the site claims that if you place an order for backorder the $25 price will be honoured when the ammunition comes back in stock mid april.
I will probably go ahead and order some, since I plan on getting the revolver in April anyway
the modern stuff will get up to about 6 reloads.
Wait no nevermind I won't go ahead and buy the ammo because you have to be 21 and I'm only 20. Tits up, goddamnit. I forgot about that little detail.
Will have to get a friend to 'gift' it to me.
I'm so jealous of you Americans and your relaxed weapon laws. If I lived in the states, I would own a weapon chambered in each of the common calibers. I like the common and well tested weapons, so I would love to own a Remmington 870, a Colt 1911, a good german 9mm pistol and probably a few World War 2 era bolt action rifles.
At least where I live we have a lot of other legal stuff that you haven't :V
Then too bad for you nancy pants 'cause you ain't of drinkin age.
Which is even dumber in my opinion. You can own any firearm as long as it isn't a pistol at the age of 18, but you can't own a pistol or get a CWP before you're 21. Which is also ironically the age you can legally drink.
Sounds like a great combination doesn't it? "Fuck dude you're 21. Let's go out, buy a gun and get drunk"

Many a-times I've been unable to make a purchase because of age limitations on FFL transactions.
Anyone happen to have a CZ(vz)52?

I've been thinking about getting one but im not sure yet.
Just finished converting .36 caliber black powder revolver (Colt Navy reproduction) to accept .38spl round.
Me and a machineshop buddy filed a slot near the side of the chamber to accept a cartridge, and we bought a conversion cylinder with functioning loading gate.
It's immensely satisfying to shoot a single-action revolver.

Shoots beautifully. Ejecting the spent shells sucks without an ejection-rod.
the mag release apparently takes some getting used to
it's not that bad
Here's my friend loading, shooting and unloading the very same revolver. At the end of the video are a few pictures (set to some corny music) of the careful drilling job that had to be done to the frame to accommodate a cartridge.

Okay? What in the world does that have to do with a firearm, and unless you're gay, who gives a fuck?

he needs to get a haircut
Him choosing to have long hair is no different than us choosing to own firearms. It's a choice, who gives a shit.

I have always want to get a BP Revolver and put a cartridge cylinder in it... perfect hand gun for anyone not over 21...

Do it.
One of the best purchases I've ever made.
So that classic firearms website has a 91-30 Sniper, already done up and everything with an authentic 3.5PU scope. For 400.
Which would be better to do? Keep my incoming Nagant as a scopeless and get that one for $400 later, or use that kit I got (that I may be cancelling) to just add any old scope to it?
I'm perfectly okay owning two Nagants, but I'm not sure if $400 is a good price.
I love the 7.62 tokarev round. it's cheap as fuck, and a hotloaded spitzer will perform like a 5.7 but with an impact like a .38 Auto

I've been looking to upgrade my Nagant as well, and I'm having the same dilemma. The numbers are adding up to include the scope, the mount, and the price of having all of that shipped, PLUS the cost of having her cut up and drilled in for installing everything.

Is that just because it's on the heel as opposed to being a thumb release or is there something more unique about it?
