Just found this article while browsing. It's about intermediate cartridges.

Would be quite amusing if we all went full-circle back to the 7x43mm used in the EM-2 in the '50s. British conservatives would have a field day, shouting "I told you so!" across the pond :v:

They're there, you just have to go looking for them, they're not as publicized as in the US.
Also, your provincial government is retarded if they think a provincial registry will work where a federal one failed.

Ayyyye it's the bullpup from Killing Floor :v:

Or do I need to get my sarcasm detector replaced?
Hey guys I have a quick question for you.
My brother really wants a lever-action rifle, but doesn't know what calibre would be good to start with in buying his first, as well as what make and model to buy. Any ideas?

A good thing too considering all you Quebecois are terrorists! You might revolt and overthrow Canada. :v:

Like our lazy ass province could do that...

Marlin. All day eery day. And if it's his first gun than .22lr because cheap and good for getting solid at shooting techniques. Otherwise 30-30 is cheap and fun... but I do love me the 45-70 so much... Oh almost forgot pistol calibers like .357 and .44mag are nice. Little less power than 30-30 but more umph than a .22... pistol calibers might be the best median...

marlin 336 in .30-30
So like I asked earlier, in regards to firing .38 ammunition out of an M1895, how hard is it? Can I just load the cylinder with the .38 cartridges or do I need to get a new cylinder for it?
Also would .38 necessarily be cheaper than 7.62x38mmR?

Haven't heard of firing .38 from it, but I think you can fire .32 from it.

.38 is generally cheaper yes. just load and fire, no conversion necessary

this is completely incorrect, it will not chamber and it will not fire. in the off chance that the pin does strike the primer it's gonna keyhole really bad
No, I'm pretty sure the Nagant's alternate cylinders were for various .32 calibres, not .38. And as I recall, there were only a few kinds of .32 that could be safely fired without a cylinder conversion, and .32ACP was not one of them.
oh man I was thinking backwards, van kaeo broke my brain
.32 will fire, H&R magnum, S&W, S&W long will fire, probably at least some others but none that I'm aware of

Here's a good informational video as to what happens when you shoot .32 long in it.
Yeah I got .32 and .38 confused mostly because the Nagant fires 7.62x38 which for a few minutes I confused the x38 (which I know is the length of the cartridge) with the calibre. I have no fucking idea why because 38mm is no where near the size of .32 which is about 7.9mm and fuck what I don't know.
Also yeah no I think I'll just chamber the thing in what it's supposed to be chambered in. Not concerned about saving a little bit of dosh if it means I could potentially fuck up my revolver.
That being said is there any way to load a nagant more conventionally (i.e. with a speed loader or flipping the cylinder out and dumping all of the spent cartridges out at once)? Or is it ONLY single load/single discharge
[editline]27th March 2012[/editline]
Wow I love his (The video author) idea for those little cartridge pouches. Fucking ingenious. Definitely doing that when I get my Nagant revolver.
Because Australia is shit, I have to hand load all my 7.62x54R... which is okay because I like under-loading it with lead projectiles for use at the range. It is so much cheaper.
Just buy surplus ammunition from Laurence Ordnance

The way he fucking clicks his goddamn mouth every five seconds pisses me the fuck off. Also, it's NaganT, not Nagan.
useful video but arhghf my ocd senses are tingling
Why have one 1911 when you can have two in one!
(if its been posted rate dumb late, etc)

Is it one gun or two?
So, i'm going to talk to my aunt (Her boyfriends owns a small gun shop) about swapping my Spingfield XD Sub-Compact for the Glock 23. I kind of want a gun that's a bit bigger, and it would be nice to get the .40 S&W round. Another cool thing is would be, that i can grab the 9mm conversion barrel from work and shoot 9mm, or swap it back out for the original barrel and shoot 40 S&W.

good luck!
although I was wondering, how bad do you have to be to fail a hunting proficiency course?

You would have to be the dumbest person on the planet and then have a lobotomy. That's the only way to fail.
What?
That's fucking stupid.
What does naming the type of bird based on the tailfeathers have to do with shooting a gun?
That's goddamn orthinology
>Hunting Proficiency
They want you to know what you're shooting at hopefully before, but at least as, you're shooting it.
Still seems needlessly technical and annoying, I know hunting courses aren't as hard here, but you have to take a special one for turkey.
Me see bird me shoot bird if bird not legal oh well me eat bird

Such may be life in 'Murrica, but evidently not so in Norwegia.

I think that hunting proficiency courses vary a lot in difficulty depending on where you take it. My mate failed his course (in Denmark) two or three times before he passed as far as I remember. You basically have to know everything, even the fucking menstrual cycle of the fucking deer you are shooting.

Yeah I know... I was being a wise ass... It's similar to a drivers license, not many fail but it happens and then they need to pay to play ( Take the test again).
