Canadians rejoice! Senate voted 50-27 to pass C-19, the bill to end the Long Gun Registry now heads for the basically guaranteed Royal Ascent! It may be gone by the end of the month!
I saw some K31's going for around $60-$80 a few years ago, but the stocks were in terrible condition. They almost looked like they'd been buried in damp soil. I should have bought one and tried to restore it.

oh my goooood
Ven Kaeo, got a link to the guide for those paper cartridge wraps?

What cartridge do you want it for? 7.62x54? If so the measurements I made are uh... I think 3-5 pages back.
Would a brass brush work better for removing cosmoline from metal than a synthetic brush?
All I did was tear up an old t-shirt and just wiped everything down with a little elbow grease and put it back together.
Made about 6 passes through the barrel with the ramrod and 6 different (clean) pieces of cloth to make sure I got it all. Fired it a couple of days ago and it worked fine.
I was going to use mineral spirits but we didn't have any and I figured a thin film of grease would only help keep the rifle in good condition.
Would a brass brush work better for removing cosmoline from metal than a synthetic brush?
When I'm trying to get gunked on crap off metal, like carbon on an AR-15 bolt, I use the stainless brush. The gun metal is going to be stronger than the brush, so might as well go with the faster option.

Woohoo! I might not have to deal with that registry after all.
Anyone know a good place to get bullpup style rifles? Specifically an EM-2, L85A2, or A-91 style rifle?
Called the local shoot straight, dumbass didn't even know what a "Bullpup" was, had to ask him 3 times and then finally say "The gun with the magazine behind the trigger". Only thing they have is a Streyr Aug for $1800.
I know the A-91 has an integral grenade launcher which I'm sure is a problem with ATF. Is there a civilian model or a model without the IGL?
Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 795? I just want a cheap plinker, nothing fancy. Also, how much would it cost to get a nice scope and mount for one of those?
If the US allowed the Tavor TAR-21 in I'd say go with that, but they're $3000 up here, and one of the only bullpups allowed in Canada, and AFAIK the ATF isn't letting Israel import them for civilians in the US.

Ain't nothing but the AUG AFAIK that is bullpup and legal in the US. Forgot that thing that Kel Tec makes... and the F2000.
p90 is technically a bullpup, p sure they're legal
p90 has other issues, like the fact that it's a post-ban select fire weapon AND an sbr
you could always get a PS90 but what fun is that

I personally find the TAR ugly as fuck
SBR's are easier to get than full autos at least. Get a PS90, buy a short barrel, fill out the paperwork at a gun store and have a semi-auto bullpup smaller than a folded rifle.
I don't really like the P90 though.
I'm very picky :v:
I think I'll probably just get an AK-47 next. Or a scoped 91-30
Going to try and get up to outback Australia in the next week, shoot some camels with my M44.
Well you CAN own automatics, you just need a permit.
No permit required if the gun is registered before 1986. They're just really expensive and require a $200 tax stamp and a lengthy background check. You have to be 21, have a clean record, and be a permanent citizen.
I hate that pre-ban automatic weapons cost so much
a new manufacture M16A4 costs about $800 to law enforcement. Civillian wants an M16A2? boom 22 grand
[editline]4th April 2012[/editline]
thompsons are even worse, they were $200 iirc and now they go for upwards of 40 grand
Why even ban automatics? It's so stupid.
What if we get invaded by commies? How are we going to invade ourselves then when we don't even have the AK-47's we so desperately need.
Sup guys I'm doing a research paper arguing against stricter gun control laws in the U.S. do you guys know of any good articles or valid sites that are pro firearms?
Facepunch, of course.
the best way to test your firearm is to put it against your head and pull the trigger. make sure its loaded with bullets hollow points etc.

I always found it interesting that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Hollywood_shootout was a principle example of why not to have automatic firearms, yet the two purchased their firearms through the black market, rather than using a legal firearm
What is the biggest bullet there is? I hear Barrett shoots pretty big ones.
The Barrett fires .50 BMG which are 12.7 mm wide, but there's also the .950 JDJ which are humongous and nothing but a shoulderbreaker.
If you're talking about sensed things, then I say 20x102mm is pretty big.
[editline]5th April 2012[/editline]
.950 just doesn't count as sensed to me.
