I'm (obviously) looking into getting a gun someday, does anyone know how much kick a Five-seveN has?
Nearly none.
Well the FN Five Seven fires a 5.7x28mm right? If memory serves that's about the size of a .22 hornet, so expect something between a .22 Magnum and .223 Remington. I have a question concerning my AK dilemma. Is Century Arms really a company worth going out of the way to avoid? If so, where could I go to find an AK-47 or AK-47 variant NOT manufactured/modified by CAI that isn't going to cost me over $600?
Besides, modifying a semi automatic weapon to fire in full auto is piss easy, only thing stopping people is the fact that they don't really need it plus if they get caught massive fines. This, however, wouldn't bother someone who's already going to rob a bank/do some other fucking dumb thing.
Making a semi auto, automatic is not easy you would require some very good machining skills plus the all the machining equipment which can be very, very expenisve. To have all that for one gun would not make sense unless you are are some underground gang.
OR you could just buy a sliding stock for like $250 or $300 :v:
I'm (obviously) looking into getting a gun someday, does anyone know how much kick a Five-seveN has?
Don't get a 5-7, overpriced gun with overpriced ammo. If you want a similarly performing weapon just get anything in .22LR.

Wut There is no way in hell 7.62x54 147 grain bullets can pierce the armour of an M1 Abrams. The thinnest armour on an M1 is 350mm.
"easy to conceal rifle for taking out tanks"
Also "Easy to Conceal" haha what the fuck. The Mosin is one of the LONGEST rifles I've ever fucking seen. Where the hell are you going to conceal it?

[editline]6th April 2012[/editline] It's probably just the furniture, though. FAL furniture gets me wet in my powder keg.
Ya know what email I just got. Center Fire Systems with free shipping on VEPR's... now only to dig up a grand. [editline]7th April 2012[/editline]
Based on the images I've seen of Chechen improvised guns, it's probably easier to make an automatic gun from scratch with stuff you can buy at a Home Depot than convert a semi-auto to full-auto.
Converting to full auto isn't as hard as one would assume. It is generally just changing out some parts. Then again these aren't necessarily easy to find parts. And we mustn't forget that a semi auto bolt is not strong enough to take on extended periods of full auto fire. Besides, full auto is only really good for suppressing fire, which is easily attained, with less money, with some of those new bump fire stocks.

Chechnyans can make guns out of fucking anything
That isn't a very fair comparison though. Chechnyans can make guns out of fucking anything
most of them were open bolt single shot weapons, bolt action rifles, or based on an existing receiver. there were handful of open bolt SMGs too but any idiot with a machine shop could build one of those
That isn't a very fair comparison though. Chechnyans can make guns out of fucking anything
And a kid with access to a high school metalshop and the internet can make an AK, or at least a gun of equal quality to the Chechen ones.
Wait, I don't understand all this stuff about converting semi-auto to auto. Somebody said you can just buy a sliding stock? How on earth can that make a rifle fire automatic?
Well, nobody seems too interested in trading. But if it's for the $265 I have on there I'd be willing to do that. And it comes with 2 magazines, holster, and cleaning rod but not a multi-tool. Thanks, -Aaron
WOOWOOWOO TT-33, here I come!
Wait, I don't understand all this stuff about converting semi-auto to auto. Somebody said you can just buy a sliding stock? How on earth can that make a rifle fire automatic?
Look up something called "bump-firing." Basically this stock makes bump-firing easy and faster, which means you can shoot the gun faster.
Don't get a 5-7, overpriced gun with overpriced ammo. If you want a similarly performing weapon just get anything in .22LR.
I'm not worried about price.
Look up something called "bump-firing." Basically this stock makes bump-firing easy and faster, which means you can shoot the gun faster.
Ohhhhhhh. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, I know what bump-firing is. It's not actually automatic, but it's far past semi-auto, enough that gun restriction lawmakers would begin to worry. I was gonna say, no way an accessory would be able to change the internals of a rifle.
I'm not worried about price.
Oh, ok then. Yeah, it'll be a fine piece then.
it's like a FAL fucked an AK
I think that's some form of a Finnish Valmet. Not 100% sure though. [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] Yep it is. Valmet M78
So the FAL's banned here, the AK's banned here, but their Finnish bastard child is perfectly legal? What the shit?
I want the Finnish bastard child more then I want an AK tbh.
For the Valmet; it looks delicious, and if I recall correctly, it might even be legal for sports shoooting in Norway The 5.7 discussion: It's an overprice overpenetrating .22 Hornet Still, if you want it, I won't hate you for it, as far as I know, they're actually precise, light and reliable, but yes, expensive.
