That is beautiful.
By why do you have two magazines taped together?
Apparently it's so that you don't have to grab another magazine to reload, just flip it and reinsert.
Not very practical if you're prone in dirt/sand though.
can you just order cartridges online like you would anything else, or do you need to pass it through an FFL for some stupid reason?
In most states you just order it online like anything else. Just prove you're over 18 first on some places.
Are Nodak Spud AK receivers good? I was thinking of getting one along with an AMD-65 parts kit sometime.

I've heard they're the best. Seems like a lot of companies use them when they build their AKs from kits.
Alright, now it's just down to either building an AMD or buying a Glock.

NoDak Spud makes some of the best receivers period. I have one of their M16A1 receivers on my Colt 604 build and it looks just as good as USGI. I have heard amazing things about their AK receivers too, as they've been doing them for much longer than the retro AR lowers.
Ok, so the only Nodak AK receiver in stock that isn't one of the Yugo M70 ones (which I don't want) is an AK-74 one for underfolder stocks. I think it looks pretty cool, but I cannot find underfolder stocks alone or in a 74 kit.
What's wrong with the Yugo M70? It's one of the strongest AK derivatives out there.
Anyway check Gunbroker for Underfolder stock sets. Just buy one separate from your parts kit, and assemble it in place of the standard stock. Make sure you get the one that is receiver mounted, not the one that you can mount in a standard fixed stock trunnion.
I don't know, I guess if you can find me a parts kit for the M70 with an underfolder and chrome-lined barrel I'll do it then.
About how economical is it to buy an AK parts kit + receiver and assemble it as opposed to buying a complete rifle? Are there any special tools required?
you kinda need to be able to weld, stamp, rivet, bolt and hammer metal
To piece out an AK?
That is beautiful.

I like having magazines taped together and it makes it faster to reload. I have no idea though since I never got the chance to shoot it. I am trying to get a Makarov since I really like the look of those.
I really need to get a gun sometime. My uncle has about 200 acres of land here in southern New Hampshire just waiting to be shot on, I know there are areas were I can safely shoot several hundred meters on it.
My aunt and uncle live up there, they own land for hunting on. UZI, ect. They've got the works.

You won't find a parts kit with a chrome lined barrel unless it's a US barrel. Just get a new barrel. M70 parts kits with underfolders are the easiest ones to find.
I called every store within an hour of me. Only 3 out of 15 had Mosin-Nagants in stock and the cheapest was $250.
Bwahahaha, oh shit that's too bad. :(

What do you guys think about the Ruger P90? I fired two and they jammed up like a mother fucker, probably at least once every other magazine, handled nicely though.

good accuracy and reliability in my experience, maybe you just got a lemon
if you're building an AK out of a flat receiver you need to be able to stamp, cut and weld
if you're not, then you still need to be able to attach the barrel to the trunnion, insert the rivets, insert all the mech parts and attach the sight, as well as other minor processes

it's not as easy as an AR build at all
it's as far away from lego bricks as you get
Oh boy, if it's a process like that I may not want to do it any more.

Isn't Century Arms terrible?

What part of NH?
Isn't Century Arms terrible?
1935 Tula hex receiver
Isn't Century Arms terrible?
Yes, anyone who would sell guns with canted sights (WASR's) or improper barrels (Tantal's) then you shouldn't buy from them. Then again it is a mosin nagant, and that shit is hard for even people of their caliber to fuck up.
I don't know what "Canted sights" means.
Also there's nothing wrong with my Mosin-Nagant if that's what you're implying. I put 40 rounds through it a couple of days ago with absolutely no issues whatsoever.
Actually my Mosin was made in Tula and it has the star on the receiver to prove it.
Isn't Century Arms terrible?
Century Arms didn't build the gun, they just imported it. Keep in mind Century Arms isn't just a gun manufacturer, it's one of the largest gun importers in the US.

You're talking about Century Arms as a manufacturer, not as an importer. They're fine importers. Just because Century Arms brought the gun into the country doesn't make the gun bad by association.

Canted sights means the front sight is misaligned. This was a problem with some Century Arms WASR-10s. I don't know if they've since improved their workmanship or not. And no Mosin Nagants were built within the United States besides the ones built by Remington in WW1 for the Russian army. Century just imported the gun.
