Spraypaint.
I'm trying to paint my own pattern of it. Do you guys know of any good tutorials?
Anyone have any experience with AIMSurplus? I'm thinking about ordering some ammo from them.

We ordered 750 rounds of 5.45x39 from them around Christmas, I trust it was easy. My dad had to order it as I am 19, and not 21.
Also, I've heard only good stuff about AIM, I'd go with them if you can.

You have to be 21 to order?
What pistol shoots 5.45x39?
Derry.
Cool, I'm about 30 minutes away from there.
trying to decide if I want to get a 10/22 or a ruger mk II/III

Most sites will require you be 21 in order to cover all their bases for ammo. And it was for my interarms AK-74
God fucking damnit, my IPSC class is ONCE AGAIN postponed, to fucking august this time.
Can't start shooting IPSC courses without it, and can't get anything sweet without being an IPSC shooter.
there are things you should never cheap out on. Drive a shit car or use a shit computer all you want, live in a small house or ditch central heating and put window units in your house. Shooting a poorly built or maintained rifle could end your life.
I do drive a shit car and use a shit computer and live in a small house. And I'm still poor.
But like I posted the rifle I'm looking at was built in Romania and imported by Century Arms. NOT built by century arms. So it's okay.

ammo for them is cheap too so you'll always have that going for you
Thanks, now I just need to find some red star grips. I am getting a Nagant M1895 and a Mosin Nagant M19/30 too which is nice.
You too?
You'll love the 1895. It's an awesome revolver.

I'd rather have a nice SAA. Barring that, a Ruger Blackhawk or Vaquero.
I don't really care much for revolvers but I love shooting single actions.

I'm more of a semiautomatic person myself, but the M1895 is one of my favorite revolvers.
just finished watching cowboy bebop
after drying my internal tears i decided i'm buying a jericho

Switched to an AR stock on my Saiga, took it out skeet shooting for shits and giggles, I did awesome :v:
Not really, but it's still fun as fuck to shoot.
So here's the situation:
I got a Turkish 8MM Mauser rifle, model 1938 (as far as the receiver markings go).
In the past I have seen thousands upon thousands of parts available for most other Mauser models, such as the famous K98k, M48, etc.
BUT!!!!
No matter how hard and where I search, I can not for the life of me locate any parts for the M1938!!!!
It's really upsetting me, because I have a very good rifle receiver, bolt assembly, and a pretty decent barrel as well, but I want to
1. accurize it a bit via bedding the stock among other small "tune ups"
and 2. I want to get a new stock/used but compatible stock in better condition than the sporterized mess of a stock it currently has.
Is anyone able to help me locate some M1938 parts? I have had absolutely no luck.
It is the Turkish model, with the T.C. ASFA ANKARA 1938 receiver markings.
found a hex receiver m91/30 at my Big 5 for $179, this a good deal?
uhm
pretty much all parts are interchangeable between german and turkish mausers
only thing is that turks are small ring while most germans are large ring
I've been told and have read on many parts listings that the 1938 turk mauser will not accept other Mauser stocks and many parts. Many of the parts listings say "Will NOT fit 1938, 19xx, 19xx" etc
found a hex receiver m91/30 at my Big 5 for $179, this a good deal?
Hex receivers are pretty well sought after over round receivers, but as far as it being a good deal it really comes down to the overall condition of the receiver and barrel.
At that price, you are facing losing some money if the condition is not up to par, but if it is in decent condition, it could easily be a great deal with the hex receiver being part of the package.
Oh and check the receiver markings for stuff like soviet markings, capture markings, etcetcetc
turks are small ring while most germans are large ring
they have different front receiver bridges
most if not all minor parts are fully interchangeable
it tells me which ones won't fit, but it doesn't tell me which ones will. I recall reading that the reason for this is because many of the 8MM 1938 Turk mausers were re-bored, and had the receiver modified after the dawn of the 1930's to up the compatibility to the 8MM round, and there are gap issues between the receiver and stocks of other models.
that's what i've written two times...
turkish receivers have small rings
german ones usually have large rings
when you put a small ring receiver into a large ring stock it won't seat perfectly
Ah I read it wrong, my apologies. So Any small ring stock should work, with at the most a small adjustment being needed but otherwise seating perfectly?

Check Numrich and Gunbroker. When looking for parts to it, search Turkish Mauser instead of M1938.

I'd say no. Classic firearms has hex receiever 91-30s for around 90-110.
