We already know what happens when the US is occupied
for your info, you can compare militia forces to rebels in hl2. They can't fight any major battles because of military owned vehicles. The only thing they can do is fight minor battles that make no difference to the war effort. They have to hide or else they will just be shot on sight.
You're comparing real life situations with a video game? lol............................
There is a psychological factor too. You could get ambushed at any moment, with anything from a few pistol shots to a pipebomb to an IED. This isn't the Middle East, this is North America. We have trees, bushes, cornfields, and mountains, tons of places to hide and attack, then hide some more.
Also from the psychological factor that the Americans would have in that they were fighting for their homes, family, and safety. Arguably, the people being invaded would fight more fiercely compared to the invaders.

A force comprised of people who don't necessarily want to be invading in the first place.

I know it would be hard, i'm just saying that it wouldn't be like every single American would take on a trained army

There are 300 million of us.
Even assuming less than 1% of the population takes up arms we can still outnumber even the largest invasion forces.
Goddamn that game was fun.
It's a shame that people lost the amazing irony in all the camp.
It was a game about insurgency released in late 2003. There was a certain topic that was on everyone's mind in 2003.
i think its been proved before that guerilla tactics on home soil will almost always defeat a larger conventional army, whether the country being attacked is occupied or not
look at Finland in the winter war, Afghanistan when Russia invaded, America in the revolutionary war, etc...
1: The Red Army had suffered a devastating purge prior to the Winter War, taking out a lot of skilled commanders. That, and the first guy they had commanding was incompetent. After he got axed in favour of Semyon Timoshenko, the Red Army broke though the Mannerheim line and got the Finns to sue for peace.
2: The Mujahideen received aid from many countries, a lot of it coming from the US, in the form of money, weapons, training and even soldiers.
3: Significant aid from the French and it's allies and Britain's relatively small land army by the standards of the time. The war was also mostly a conventional one, guerilla tactics weren't as common as you'd think, so not entirely the best example of guerilla tactics winning a war.
Not saying the home turf advantage isn't a factor in a country's favour, but it alone will not ensure victory over a superior force.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army itself consists of 297 million women and 313 million males fit for military service, along with 1 million reserves, 600 million males available for military service 300 million females available
Nobody has every played that game.
Freedom Fighters is way better.

Uhh, the entire population =/= an army. They can't just call up a billion people, train and equip them and then ship them overseas.
At most they have the funds for maybe half a million well trained and equipped soldiers.
I mean to ship overseas.
[editline]12:21PM[/editline]
China has a great export racket but not THAT great

Britain had that idea in WW2, it's called conscription, a tactic that a militaristic country such as China would employ
China has enough funds for their massive industrial might, they can use the same funds and industrial potential to fuel a war machine as Germany did
Britain had that idea in WW2, it's called conscription, a tactic that a militaristic country such as China would employ
Yes they are going to call up a billion people and then just magically give them a magic billion guns and a magic billion boats and ship them over a billion miles using their billion gallons of fuel.
No.
Conscription only goes so far, and it rarely goes so far as two thousand miles.
[editline]12:24PM[/editline]
It's cute though how you don't know what logistics are

They would only need to send 300 million to have a 1:1 soldier:person ratio, by fit for military service I meant IN the military, they could take the USA over with just women, they don't need to produce additional munitions or spend time training, they're already well trained and armed

Are you retarded?

I don't think you realize how fucking stupid it is to say "they would send 300 million soldiers"
[editline]12:30PM[/editline]
They don't HAVE 300 million soldiers.

They don't HAVE 300 million guns and seats on boats and the training for 300 million or the ability to command 300 million people.

No, i'm putting statistics on a screen and you can't comprehend that I'm telling you the USA isn't unstoppable
They have 300 million people who CAN be drafted. That means that there is a pool of 300 million people.
That doesn't mean they're going to draft a third of their fucking population.

Okay, then. Tell me.
Where will they get over 300 million guns?
Where will they get over 300 million sets of gear and supplies.
Where will they train 300 million people.
Who will train 300 million people.
Who will command 300 million people.
How will they transport 300 million people.
Where will they get the fuel.
How will they pay for all of this.
How will they deal with mass dissent.
Etc

I'm just trying to say the USA isn't unstoppable and that China is fully capable of annexing the USA without any external factors like allies, but by sheer manpower. It's plausible, not probable but I'm only saying it can be done.

In total it's 620 million fit and 900 million extra who are available, yes these are not actual active personnel but they can be armed, any nation has a surplus of weapons.
Here are ACTUAL active personnel numbers
USA: 1.5 million active, 1.5 million reserves (3.4 million total including paramilitary)
China: 2.25 million active, 0.8 million reserves (7 million total including paramilitary)

The scale is too small to compare China and USA but as you can see China isn't a weak nation
Nobody said China was weak. They said China could not invade and occupy the United States.

In a loose sense, I suppose.
But you don't seem to understand the logistics issues in fielding an invasion force of 300 million.
