I find weed in Amsterdam quite strange, i'm a regular smoker here but have always had a fairly low tolerance to weed and am usually content after an average spliff for atleast a couple hours in the UK but when i go to Amsterdam i can happily handle 4 or 5 large joints in the same amount of time. Now i thought this would be down to tolerance but this year when i returned to the UK i had a joint of some fairly standard English weed and was pretty floored. Considering the day before this i was smoking zoots 5 times the size and strength without even thinking i thought this was pretty strange. This goes the same for the people i went with. I do obviously prefer smoking in Amsterdam, the weed there is clearly better quality, i just thought it was quite odd. The high is also slightly different in the UK i find but not indica/sativa difference as i smoked (alot of) both in Amsterdam, just slightly 'different'. Do the most popular growing methods differ much between us or anything?

i know this obviously depends on the weed and where you are but i smoke a fair amount and in general it seems like it's slightly different, i also never really found much in the way of dense or extremely sticky bud in Amsterdam
This is a pretty bad example but
Bud from Amsterdam

I did try to sample from various coffee shops too

Just a discussion anyway feel free to prove me wrong, i'm no expert in growing just wonder if there's any difference or reason why it's like this.
Did all of those small bags have weed in them? Just a few samples lol. :v:
Oh the netherlands, how I love the prices and quality.
Meanwhile I'm paying 20€ for a gram of "weed"
I'm saying that because it doesn't really matter what the quality is, the price never drops because weed is so scarce.

Yeah haha it was a bit excessive. But we don't get to go there often so went all out, there was actually quite alot more than that they just mainly started stacking up by the TV, it was too tempting to try something new in every coffee shop we went to.
Ofcourse it depends on the conditions the plant was grown in, but if you visit a good shop they'll usually try and make sure you get similar or the same qualities every time. Because it's "almost"-legal these shops want to try everything to ensure they get returning customers. (I only really know this from 1 shop though, which is the one I was a member of/visited frequently)
I must say though, that unless you're Dutch or a frequent visitor, some shops will try to rip you off. That's why I always go to the same shop, I get the best weed and the right amount.
I would imagine Amsterdam is even worse with the scamming, seeing how it's the biggest attraction for tourists. (Though french folk that cross the border every fucking day to get weed near me also get ripped off, they're just crazy enough to keep trying here I guess)
Not really experienced any scamming other than some dodgy coke which almost ended in us getting robbed (but that wasn't my decision). The coffee shops have seemed relatively friendly and we usually ask to have a look first which they were fine with. One headshop we went in to get truffles actually kept shrooms under the counter which were fantastic and they were really friendly and open about that. I can see how tourists can get ripped off there though, there's definitely a dark side to that city.
To be honest Amsterdam is probably the worst place to enjoy a smoke as a tourist. Overcrowded environment, shady as fuck street dealers who try to push you into buying their hard drugs and worst of all you're getting ripped by price, not only the weed but also beverages!!
Amnesia Haze in Amsterdam average price: + 15 Euro/gram
Amnesia Haze in smaller towns: +/- 10 Euro/gram
Amnesia Haze my hometown: 8 Euro/gram
Quality heavily depends on the coffeesho but I haven't noticed any major quality between bud and the buzz when I compare hometown bud with Amsterdam bud.
I pay estimated €10/$15/£9 per gram here for weed, doesn't matter what quality, often quite good weed.

Here, as in Sweden :v:
Quality of cannabis is determined by the quality of the plant's life, not the strain or location.
There's no difference in 'dutch weed' and 'american weed' it's all Cannabis Sativa cultivars with funky names like OG Kush or Amnesia Haze.
are you saying there aren't genetic differences between different strains?
In canada, i can get crackrock hard nugs that bust better then anything else, and are frostier then frosty the snowmans testicles

I love smoking dense bud, hate buying it though haha, it looks like you get so little, but it's always bomb as fuck
I pay less than 10 a gram in the us, not medical state. Very good quality.
In my opinion, there is a point where weed is so good that it isn't better than another strain, but just has different characteristics and highs.
Why do you guys call a blunt a joint btw?
I thought a joint was implying a joining of weed and tobacco?
In my world.
Blunt: weed with blunt papers (cigars)
Joint: weed with rolling paper
Problem in The Netherlands is that you have to know where to get your weed. For the good weed, go to the east of The Netherlands, western Dutch weed is shit.
The stuff you get in Amsterdam is regulated by our government because of too much tourists getting baked as fuck without even knowing proper first time use dosage.
Okay so I've been around Amsterdam for a good 4 years and I can tell you that half of what you say is .. not entirely correct.
Dampkring got worse, true but that's only due to the sheer number of visitors.
Greenhouse is still one of the best places you can go, pricey but good shit guaranteed.
9/10 shops are shit in Amsterdam, but that's the same no-matter where you go.
