Capital Airsoft sold out of them, but I could always buy it from Mach 1. Plus I'm waiting to see how much the KWA 74M is if any Canadian retailers get it. It's a really sexy gun. Comfortable too. Functional.
It also accepts non-Type 89 mags so that's a huge plus. All STANAG mags work, even if they look like they won't.
It's starting to feel right at home. I can see myself using this more often than my TAR 21 or M4. I'll grab a left side selector switch to make switching fire modes faster/easier, a top rail mount for a scope if I feel it and a tri-rail barrel mount for flashlights and what not if I ever need them.
I want to see it with a bayonet.
I can do it.. but there isn't a point. The barrel is too short so the ring doesn't rest on anything and it falls off. The mounts are also too big to fit the knife onto anyway.

Not sure what's happening with Capital Airsoft, I haven't talked to Jeff in a while, and his website seems to be out of stock on like everything. Last I heard he just moved into a new storefront.

Got to see and handle all of Real Swords AEGs (Type 56, 97, SVD) and damn was I impressed. All solidly build guns, really want the SVD but no way I can afford it right now.
If I was ever serious about doing a Sniper role I'd buy a Real Sword SVD. Hands down. I don't care about the price because it's excellent.

I used to have that gun. I fucking loved it. It was the coolest gun ever. Then it stopped working so I sold it.

It is. It's on the right side of the magwell towards the front. The only easy way to reach for it is with your left hand reaching for the front of the mag and releasing it using your index finger. Not only that but the mag release button is smaller than that of a M4.

It may have just been he used it so long he decided it wasn't worth fixing or he didn't know it was even possible. The gearbox in the Type 89 is pretty damn complicated with that mechanical three-round burst.

Nope, not left handed either as the fire selector is on the left side of the gun and the ejection port is on the right.
Actually looks like I forgot where the mag release placement was. It's to the rear of the mag on the right side. Watch this, should give you an idea. Probably the most impractical bullpup, but part of me sort of likes it.
