AK-74's don't really have the 47 hole thing goin on. I know I'm using a 47 mag but that's for the lack of the airsoft store near me carrying any decent bakelites. Shipping cost a ton to just get a mag from airsoftgi or any other Cali store as well.

That's really odd. Most Russian AK-74's are wood it seems, you might have been seeing the AK-74M's which are usually all synthetic materials.

I'm not sure but I think the only difference is possibly the length of the rifle and that the AK-74M has the synthetics and a folding stock.
I guess I just thought all the wood AK-74s Ive seen were AKMs. Only difference externally is the flashhider.
But still, even the wood AK-74s have two slight slots in the upper half of the foregrip. Its odd to see one thats perfectly straight like that.
Um AK-74 was pretty much the start of the transiton to what we call "Plastic" stocks. AK-74's are both in Wood and plastic or what ever fancy name you want for it. Example is everything made past the 74 (104,105 etc) are all plastic stocks

Yeah I actually noticed this only when you brought it up. It seems the one I posted up there has kind of a slot, mine has that sorta, I just closed the top grip too far after looking at the wood. But yeah it does seem most wood AK-74's have the hole things. So I'm not really sure if the Dboy's AK is realistic or not.
