Don't get bakelites, it's got a full wood stock, doesn't usually look right.

Only reason I want to get bakelites is because I'm using a 74 not an AKM or 47. Which makes it kinda look like right now that I'm trying to use 7.62 in a gun that fires 5.56. But then again... it IS airsoft.

Yes, they are both real wood, just after sanding the original woodstain off and applying a new colour of woodstain.

What i recommend you do is make it a bit darker and add some grain in it

The deep grain effect (The grain swirls) etc. You use a paper towel with the stain

You get SOME credit Staines :P . Also the wood on mine turned out to be Oak (a hardwood) according to a guy at Home Depot. That explains why there is all of the grain. Also basically what I did was I applied 2 coats of shitty 1 year old dark walnut oil based wood stain. That turned out looking like balls because only the grain was taking any color. So I went to Home Depot and then bought a thing of Hickory gel-based woodstain. The result was surprisingly awesome :D

I'm not sure how that'd work :/ . I wiped of my stain using paper towels and didn't seem to be much different then when I used a T-Shirt. It doesn't really matter how you apply it either. It all depends on the part of the tree used to make the wood and how old the tree was basically.

Here's my newest gun, though I guess you could consider it used. Bought this for $100 from ASGI's boneyard sale along with a spare OD body for $120. All that was wrong were the plastic tabs inside the body that hold the square nuts for the rear plate snapped. The OD body still had them. So after swapping all the parts out I now have a good as new JG AUG A3 for almost half the cost.

Excuse the FDE AFG, I don't have any spare vertical grips in black or OD laying around. Orange flash hider will be dealt with ASAP.

That AK makes me want to cry. But there's a thread on the Red Alliance forums with even worse AKs than that. The AUG is ok but I prefer the AUG A1.
