The same can also be said for sex.
Barrel length.
Tightness.
Now, FPS. That could be a multitude of things.
But you get the point. (No pun intended)
I see what you did thar.
Wait you think that putting a longer barrel in it would make the FPS higher? Your wrong. But either way, nice gun, was planning to pick it up.
Maybe a little bit with AEG's, but with GBB weapons it most certainly does.
Ender that is awesome. You should sell the plans to some company

Tight bore barrel makes a big difference. And I must say Madbull did a great job with this one.
I'm the AEG guy, I don't know shit about gas guns. I didn't know that it made a substantial difference with GBBs.

Plus Tim on Airsoft GI did a video about Barrel widths and such and apparently a 6.01mm barrel is much more accurate than a 6.03mm barrel, and this was tested on a AEG KWA SR12.

No really? A tighter bore will make your gun more accurate?
Oh right we were talking about length, my bad. :v:
Oh I thought you where just putting out another blatantly obvious statement presented by ASGI. Sorry.

It makes a pretty substantial difference on AEGs too. A longer barrel can increase or decrease FPS depending on the power of the gun, likewise with a tightbore.
Too long/too tight a barrel with too little gun power results in drastically lower FPS due to the fact that if there is too little air pressure behind the BB, the BB starts losing velocity due to the friction with the barrel. There have even bee reports of back-suction in reeeallly long or really tight barrels with underpowered gearboxes.

So basically: Sucky gun, upgrade your gearbox/motor before you put in a 6.01mm Tightbore barrel.

I'm starting to get mad at GI for their videos being retarded and Tim being a faggot.

Right. It probably wouldnt make a huge difference on a shorter barrel like an AK or M4, but a rather tight-tightbore on a stock long gun can negatively effect performance. (IE: M14, G3, PSG1 length barrels.)

I like tim :frown:
Tim is nice. He didn't charge me for shipping when I had to order a battery for my Desert Knight.
6.01 is probably too tight for AEG's though unless you are using really good BB's. Common BB brands will have some bumps which will fuck up your barrel. 6.03 is what I would go with if I upgraded my guns (which I NEVER do).
Keep in mind there's different cylinders for different length barrels too. For example, shorter guns such as M4's and MP5's will have ported cylinders, while longer length guns such as a M16 will have a cylinder with no ports in order to prevent barrel suck and push as much air out as possible.
Just going to put science into this thread.
Tighter barrels does increase FPS, Longer barrels do increase FPS but no more then over 500m then you start to get suckback.
Tighter barrels - Increase FPS
Because the barrel is tighter most of the air is behind the BB therefor making it go faster, With 6.03 or larger theres more air allowed to go around the BB so it moves slower. You can use 6.01 in an AEG perfectly fine, Some people who use Sniper rifles put there barrel into an AEG to break it in quickly. Is there a higher chance of it jamming? If you use shitty BB's. I have a DBCustom 6.01 in my VSR and i use Golden Ball and KSC Perfects, Never had a jam ever. Never had a jam in my AK74 when it had a 6.01 and using TSD .20/.25 and G&G .25 Bios
Longer barrels - Increase FPS
Since theres more time for the air that the gearbox produced to speed the BB up before it leaves the barrel the FPS will rise. If you have a short barrel the air and bb don't stay in the barrel for long. Once you get to 500mm inless you use a different set of stuff (Bore up etc) then you get a suckback effect which makes your gun horrible.

I don't understand. Tim is awesome and their videos are short but informative with an occasional laugh.
There reviews are based on FPS and looks so it's bad on that part and the fact he only goes over M4/M16's and varients mainly. There fine though for just being bare bone reviews. I wish he would go over the AK's and do accuracy tests for guns. They obviously have fields to do it.
They're catering to the market. Most people want and buy M4's.
As for FPS, they never endorse having a high FPS or base their reviews around it. They just chrono the gun and tell you what it shoots stock, that's about it and they only do that at the very end.
Finally found my long lost Marushin 6mm Derringer :buddy:

Lol at the shineyness of the gold 1911 even in flat light.
I don't watch the reviews for accuracy and stuff like that. I mainly watch them to see how it looks, how it functions, and how bad ass some of them sound (KWA MP9).
I was about to buy the gold one when the guy accepted the offer of $70 for it. But then I decided "Wait why the hell do I want this?"

You should have gone for it man, those things are ultra rare.
Edit:
Unless it was the 8mm one, those aren't so rare.
There's only 200 of them I believe.
Not enough pictures in here, here is the D-Boys RK-10 I almost broke with the King Arms AK Mid caps.

I can't wait to buy my M4. I know everyone gets an M4 but it's something that I want to slowly make mine over time by upgrading it, and adding different things. How would I go about adding a shorter barrel to my gun to make it more CQB friendly?

You have to buy a shorter outer barrel, an inner barrel short enough to fit inside it and depending on how short your barrel is you may need a different handguard too.

M4 Carbines are fine for CQB. I suppose going even shorter would be slightly better for strictly CQC, but then your gun starts looking like shit.
And in terms of performance the M4 carbine is supposedly as long as you need to go, disregarding how you prefer your gun aesthetically.
