the hat and helmet as well as the hitlerjügend knife are such horrible reproductions that I want to KILL MYSELF
The helmet looks pretty real, I have one myself.
the hat and helmet as well as the hitlerjügend knife are such horrible reproductions that I want to KILL MYSELF
Bit late to the party aren't you?
Hitlerjügend?
Hitlerjügend?
Hitler Youth.
I know, I just didn't think they'd be the ones with knives.
When they got to a certain age, they were issued with a knife. It symbolized something I think.
if i remember my history lessons right it was worn as part of their uniform but it was only sold to them or given to them if they achieved well in their exams and stuff like that...
sorta like an evil boy scouts
I guess I'm wrong then?
I faintly remember hearing that somewhere.
My grandpa was in the Hitler Youth, and when they ran out of men he actually fought in the war.
The helmet looks pretty real, I have one myself.
I have several myself, and I can assure you that helmet is a repro. The decal is too low and too pointy at the bottom from what I can see. It also isn't the same metallic looking decal that they used during that time. The paint is too green, and hasn't faded at all either way. It looks like the shell of an m1942 which has been repainted and applied with a new decal. Hmmph
[editline]12:14PM[/editline]
Also, if that was an authentic m1942 helmet, in that condition it would be worth thousands. Probably somewhere in the ballpark of 4-5 thousand, considering that it has the tri-color decal... that means there are two decals, the tri-color germany decal there as well as a luftwaffe/police/kreigsmarine/heer decal
IIRC, I thought Nazi Helmets were grey.
IIRC, I thought Nazi Helmets were grey.
some were gray, some were green, some were blue, some were black, it all depended on the branch of the wehrmacht and the time it was manufactured
Thank you. Rated informative.

I guess you're the go to guy for WW2 gear?
I guess you're the go to guy for WW2 gear?
No, definitely not. I have an interest in WW2 gear, and know a thing or two about the things I've bought. Most of the information I have got though came from here
http://warrelics.eu/forum/
a little forum you would probably never find on your own
I couldn't tell you much about the weaponry, armor, or tactics used in ww2 outside of the spectrum of knowledge of any other self proclaimed ww2 buff, but I do have a keen interest in the subject
[editline]04:16AM[/editline]
but really, what I said about the helmet is pretty obvious if you've seen a few real ones. The visor cap is a blatant fake, your intuition should tell you that. Same with the knife.
It's just that I've bought a helmet like the one posted, an m1935 luftwaffe double decal helmet in pretty nice condition, but it carried a nice little price tag. I don't like to waste my money, and there are a lot of fake helmets out there for whatever reason.
some were gray, some were green, some were blue, some were black, it all depended on the branch of the wehrmacht and the time it was manufactured
Not that I'm trying to undermind you on the subject. Pretty much what branch it was.
Heer (Army): pretty much had everything field grey or green (depending on the year)
Luftwaffe (Air force): Goring liked everything in blue for some reason ranging from headwear to their pants...
Kreigsmarine (Navy): Somewhat mix of blue and grey
SS(or any other political groups under the ruling party at the time): They had every thing in Black or White, but once they were deployed on the West front they equipped everything their Heer brothern wear, Black was considered a formal uniform until the end of the war, after the war they were to go back to wearing Black.
DRK(German Red Cross): or better known as medical staff used White helmets with the Red Cross on them, this was rarely done...(thank Hollywood, for over doing it.)
There's a few other departments that had different colors but I don't know much about them.
Reason is that they stopped making these after the war. So they're like about 70-80 years old, real ones, Cheaper to buy repro made ones, which is sad... So they why theres fake ones, the sad thing is that it's starting to happen with the Fixed and Swivel Bale M1 helmets the US had during the war.
I know all of this already, thank you
[editline]04:18PM[/editline]
also it was not only the branch, but also the time it was manufactured. The heer used gray and green in different times during the war. In addition, you probably wouldn't find very many normandy-painted camo helmets in poland in 1939, would you? (although many of those helmets were painted by the soldiers wearing them)
I wish there were an easy way to make the wood handguards of an AK get this effect

That is a very sexy sniper rifle.
Indeed.
:flashfap:
I thought it was more of a DMR
Yeah, I think it was designed as a DMR rather than a dedicated sniper rifle. They issued them to squads to increase the effective range of the squad, rather than to full-out sniper teams.

ICS M4 with SIR Rails. I've had it for two weeks, so no after-market parts, yet. I'm planning on getting a holo sight, foregrip, a PEQ box with a laser, and silencer.

Unknown Taurus PT92. Shit spring pistol, bought it for 10 bucks. It looks nice in a holster and it's good in a pinch. Plus, it's full metal, so it feels great.

Daisy Red Ryder BB gun. My new pet project. I got an M4 inner barrel, chopped it down in size, and put it in. Now it fires 6mms. The only problem is the fact that I have to load through the barrel, so only one shot at a time. It looks badass in a shotgun scabbard, though. I'm planning on enlarging the loop so I can spin cock it and be totally rad. I'm also going to re-varnish the wood. Right now, it's just ghetto taped with electric tape.
