Got it for christmas :C [IMG_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13341191/cxcrepstorm/100_1955.JPG[/IMG_thumb]
What am I looking at exactly? [editline]25th December 2010[/editline] Looks like a blue piece of shiny plastic with an inner barrel sticking out the front end.
aka the snowman's nipples
Thunder-B's have the best manuals. "Do not eat or swallow Thunder B" "Do not use Thunder B while drink" "Do not use Thunder B as water bottle, it is not water bottle"
I don't know what to say. That sounds almost as bad as my VFC manual's English... More content. Warning: sub-56k gun porn approaching... The brand-new VFC on the bottom, compared to my tricked-out CA M15A4 Sportline: After ditching the orange tip and tricking it out with attachments jacked from the other gun: The pictures are bad and don't really do it justice. This thing ist wunderbar, though.
Planning on adding any RIS handguards or other accessories? Just looks sort of plain right now, but that's just me. I think adding a CQBR length outer barrel would really help with the look of the silencer. There's just something about a M4 length barrel with a silencer on the end that just doesn't feel right. It would also cut down on the length of the rifle while still keeping a M4 length inner barrel inside.

The plan right now is to the tune of getting an RIS + Battery box. Those handguards are literally a nightmare to get on and off, and I had to get my dad to help me with them. Not going to be able to put up with that sort of thing every time it gets used, so any alternative would be a godsend. I don't play that much CQB, even though one of the fields most played by us locals is actually right across from (as in, walk-through-a-hole-in-the-fence-and-change-gametype) a popular CQB venue, and having a short gun at one of the bigger fields like 559 or Ghost Mountain would look a bit off. Wouldn't a shorter outer barrel also mean that I'd need an even longer inner barrel and an even longer suppressor to cover it (when I get around to that)? Not that CQB guns are bad, but it doesn't seem like it'd be too practical right now. I'll keep this in mind, though. Personally, longer is not so bad for me (at least in the field). Even though with stock fully-extended it's almost as long as my M16, the size is okay with me, and I can cram it down smaller for CQB when necessary (and it'll still work!). You're right that something looks slightly amiss with a full-length M4 barrel and the silencer, but I kind of like it as it is. Again, though, suggestion appreciated and noted.

uhm. yeah pretty much that.
that'd look like porn :)
ALSO ITS A SUPPRESSOR NOT A SILENCER. THOSE DONT EXiST
[img_thumb]http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3913/jenkem.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'm talking about getting a longer inner barrel - an even longer unit will be needed to cover it if the outer barrel gets shorter. If I do what Ender said, I'll need one of those foot-long silenc-uh, I mean, suppressors.
ALSO ITS A SUPPRESSOR NOT A SILENCER. THOSE DONT EXiST
Acuatly they do. But they preform two different roles

I hate this. After I get this new gun I'm excited about and pour my heart out about it, someone comes in and posts an AK and then the attention shift results in two pages of Russia thumping. What a cruel world...

AK's are best Rifles! Just wish mine would still be in living shape. Ah well, next order we pass with Guarder , I may be using my work hours to get an Autoback kit, a new motor, a new frontset. But damn, I'll still lack the bloody metal body, my current body is cracked everywhere. That's what I get for using it for 4 years.
itt: attention whore
itt: another useless trolling attempt. Yes, guys, I know there are more AK fans, but it's hard to set up these mediocre shots. The flash washes out everything, and you have to be really still to not get any blur without it(which is almost impossible). Once I took two dozen photos before getting it right. After all that, I should get more than a few smart-aleck replies about my knowledge of barrels.
AK's are best Rifles!
How can you not like this? I want an AK like that one day but also have a Kobra or PSO-1 on there.
Not trolling - I just see you wishing for more attention [editline]25th December 2010[/editline] ye jenkem u would kno about barels u suk em all day XD

I was posting more for the humor of having my accordion amongst my chest rig and gun. Also the main reason we all love AK's so much is because they have a lot of personality... even if they are admittedly less versatile than a G36 or something.
I would love an AK with synthetic handguard, skeletal stock, gp-25, and PSO-1
buy AKS-74M buy gp25 buy pso1
