generally anorexia is linked with depression and anxiety which, usually means she wouldn't talk to you about it seriously (my ex girlfriend was annorexic + i'm a psychology student) chances are shes just looking for attention from you, compliments etc.

Say to her, she has two choices, either she has a balanced diet and become an above average looking girl (because most girls do not have a balanced diet), not to mention she will be a lot more confident, more sociable and people will like her more. Or if she decides to starve herself to death, she will become hideous(show some photos if needed), most people will start to avoid her, and she will fall into a depression. After that, before she gives an answer, say you can help her if she needs.. But in my honest opinion, she seems to want attention and probably is just looking for compliments.

Telling a potential anorexic girl she's not fat has about as much chance of curing her as a snowball has in hell.

Tell her to pick up a fork with food on it, place fork in mouth, chew and swallow food, and then repeat. If this doesn't work get a shrink or something

Telling her she's not fat won't do shit, dunno why you haven't figured it out yet but girls who insist they're fat really just want to hear they're not in most cases, so as long as people will tell them what they want to hear they're going to keep on bitching about their weight. Second off, if she actually is developing anorexia or bulimia, you will not be able to fix it. In that case she would be in need of serious help, as tough as it is to know when to appeal to someone who knows what they're doing. Being intubated because you've worn away the lining of your throat due to vomiting isn't a fun experience by any stretch. I'm not really sure how you could tell if she's developing either disorder over the Internet, though.

She might just be fishing for compliments.

Here is something I found out. Some girls say to their boyfriends/ people they like that they are "fat" because they want to be complimented and hear "no you're not" or "you're cute" Just keep on doing what you are doing and it may help.
