We don't share everything because someone you know everything about is boooooring. For a second imagine every person is a mystery novel. What hooks you in is the fact some information is given, some misinformation is given, and it teases your intellect. It makes you want to know more, it's exciting. Some people are like bad mystery novels, they give up too much information too fast. There is no more excitement, since that information is so easy to get you hardly even want it anymore. It becomes boring. Also notice how some of the best movies don't have a clear ending. Inception is a good example of this, you never exactly know the ending, so it draws you in, it frustrates you, it makes you think about it and want answers even though none will ever be given to you. You find your own answers, and in doing so you get a deeper, more meaningful answer then any other person could give you. It not only teaches you something about someone or something else, but it also teaches you about your self. You can't learn anything if the answer is just given to you, knowledge and depth have to be achieved from your soul, from your inner self, in order to be of any value. [/philosophy]
Privacy shouldn't exist. You do actions based on the expected consequences. the more you know about the world, the less chances there are that the action'll backfire. All we need to do is get our shit together about what is bad or good and how to treat what's wrong.
I kinda have to disagree with you. There was a reason restrooms have locks, and still is. People do things that other people would find revolting. And your saying this on the internet which strips you of your recognizable traits (male/female, short/tall, dark/light skinned). Which means sometimes better conversation with other people only to realize that there is a good chance they are nothing that you expected. Its one of the main ideologies that keeps Moot going knowing he holds the leash to a toothless Cerberus.
I'm completely open on FB or in person if someone asks. IF you're not afraid of anyone like i am, Then you have no reason to lie.
I'm completely open on FB or in person if someone asks. IF you're not afraid of anyone like i am, Then you have no reason to lie.
It isn't a matter of lying, it's a matter of not revealing everything about yourself.
Parts of your life probably ARE awkward and stupid so don't spread them on the internet before you regret it.

So I can go naked?
So I can go naked?
yes you may [editline]10th September 2011[/editline] It's called keepping up appearances. If you're an "open person" you relay your personality, opinions and actions to the target audience as-is. Normally you would go on the "surprise news interview" mode and keep things moderate and overall close to the target audiences preferences..
You gotta open your mind first with various psychotropic substances of questionable quality .
To open your mind, you need a quarter inch chisel and a cylindrical shaped mallet Use the mallet to create a cut in your skull with the chisel's point. This will be your starting point. Make sure the chisel is sharp, as dull tools tend to slip and are very dangerous. Also be careful: you should be holding the mallet with your writing hand whilst holding the chisel with the other. Once you've dug the chisel in about a few centimeters, point the chisel at an angle to chip at the skull more easily. Do not hit too hard or too many times, as you may take off too much, making your original cut useless and incredibly hard to follow. Once you've passed the half way point, turn your head around and repeat the process directly across from your original work. This is done to prevent tearing out the back of your skull, which is a sign of sloppy craftsmanship. A cleaner cut is much more professional, as it shows your superior skullworking. Once you have completed the process, your mind should be open to the outside world. also, you might die.

I disagree . You shouldn't be completely open with people. . Especially with girls. . Never trust girls with what you tell them. There are some things better left unsaid, especially that porn example.. If that girl is just a friend I understand but you should never say that kind of shit to a girl, you shouldn't watch porn as well. Right, "we humans" all do very similar shit, but being brutally honest and saying whatever the fuck you feel like comes with practice.. If you don't have the proper delivery, people will think you're a fucking weirdo.. Talking about your life can bore people to fucking death. . no matter how interesting you think it may be. .
you know what they say,
you're talking to the wrong crowd, the majority of the people here don't have sufficient experience when talking to people, they just interact with their own kind via internet and the small group of friend's they have. OP i get your point and i agree with you. but there are those who are chill about it and those who are not,its better not to reveal anything until you figure out whos chill about it.

People make fun of each other and generally people are really judgmental, even if they don't let on. It's usually a good idea to keep secrets because odds are everyone has one or two bits of information about them that they don't really want to get out.
Sometimes my butthole gets really itchy when I poop. [editline]10th September 2011[/editline] Wow, it really does feel good to open up and talk about myself.
Yeah me too, my butthole sure is itchy when I poop! We have a thing in common, call me up bro!
like doing lines of toilet duck.

If I can get called gay for buying the wrong sandwich at Subway, I'm not going to start gushing to all my friends about every little thought I have. Besides, I'm not narcissistic enough to assume people want to hear all about me. I'll tell em what they ask about and I'll exchange in banter with the best of them, but I'm not a pot-smoking hippie in Haight Ashbury, I only fit the pot part. And directed at OP specifically, I don't talk about my life because it's a ridiculous buzzkill. Manic-Depressive from a broken home with a Sexually, verbally and physically abusive Grandfather isn't exactly what you want to be sending out to new people you meet. I want people to think I'm just a guy they can chill with and have fun, when people hear that sort of thing about you they rarely treat you the same. I'd just like to clarify though that I was never a victim of my grandfather's abusive nature, my dad ensured that at least. It was just his daughters and my dad who received the brunt of that.
As above. Bipolar, asexual non-masculine arrogant egocentric asswipe isn't a good first impression. Especially when you're a person with a good reputation. People feel they can trust me and I'm not about to make them feel jeopardized by loading my shit unto them. They think I'm nice, then i probably am. No need to yell and scream about my childhood and shit. I mean FUCK my dad invented Bionicle and we didn't see a dime. You think anyone gives a flying shit? NO!
The last person I remember doing something like this was branded as the bizarre creep kid in my class. Mostly because one time I was in the bathroom and he was in a stall, and when he tried making conversation he told me "sometimes I shake when I poop" Yeah, he was real open about things.

I can tell you that when people open up like this, it's because they've given up on the hope that people will genuinely like them. They have given up on traditional socializing, possibly because of problems at home or being bullied to shit at school. I was like that for two years simply because i "knew" that i wasn't likely to make any kind of friends because people were constantly bodyslamming my efforts. At first you just give up, with time you become genuinely socially inept and then you spend about a year trying to get back on track. It's a massive hell and i'm still pretty sure that i wouldn't have been able to if my "oppressors" didn't move. Now, this is MY angle on why I became socially fucked. It could be many other things.
