Behold. This is what you'll learn:
That reminds me of the projects the IT was working on during the open day... Teacher-*Showing students work proudly* - "So what do you think of our 2nd years projects?" Me -*looking at Pokemon platformer without any animations or effects* - "uhh yeah...creative" Friend -*after leaving the room* - "What did you really think?" Me - "My eyes, they bleed" The guy was obviously very proud of his students work. It's kind of sad seeing as these people went to college and not pick up any real amount of skill, well.....at least by their finished piece standard. The teacher was obnoxiously proud though, it made you want to remark on how after 2 days of starting to learn how to use a game engine, you could have made a better piece.
IT Industrie is pretty much Experience > Degree
I've wanted to do something that relates to games for a career. I'm thinking about becoming a writer for games and if that doesn't work, I could always do something else?
Not all the schools are the same by the way I am gonna learn C++ and some other language while my friend in sweden is going to learn UDK, Modeling and level design

Go indie. Massively. Someone is bound to notice.
I am always suprised that all the indie games are creative and very enjoyable games while most commercial games are just over-done shit

[editline]22nd April 2011[/editline] I suppose nobody cares enough to say "stop using our assets our we'll sue" its pprobably not worth the air.
Behold. This is what you'll learn:
That video gets me every time.

Still courses like that probably would need you to get permission and shit
Still courses like that probably would need you to get permission and shit
Yeah, I doubt they do get permission though. Maybe since they're not selling it or something. Plus what game company is going to say dont use our shit, to people who are learning to be just like them.
I was working my way to a 3D Animation associates, but then I realized that I'm terrible at 3D animation. So I'm switching my major to business next semester. I'll still be trying my hardest to get into the gaming industry, but developing them isn't what I'm interested in. I'm getting some PR opportunities with an indie company and I write for a gaming news site, so it hasn't all been pointless. I'm already somewhere in the industry, even if it's a small role. But I don't need a degree for that really. I love games, but I want to open my own restaurant some day. So my dreams and goals are kind of.. all over the place.
