Devil May Cry 4
I'm basically in a situation like yours except my internet will work 5 minutes out of the hour Here's my list of games, some have been on sale on a bunch of sites, but I don't know how many of them are steam-only (It usually works best if you disable internet computer-side, go into offline mode, and see if it works before shutting down the computer, if you haven't tried it before) Arma 2 Binding of Isaac Deus Ex series Any of the Fallout games Half-Life series Hitman series Just Cause 2 Minecraft Civilization 4 or 5 Space Rangers 2 Stalker series Supreme Commander 1/2 Witcher 2 There's several GFWL and stuff I think has always-online DRM (assassin's creed) that I didn't include, but yeah. I'm currently in Space Rangers 2, and I wish more people knew about how fucking incredible it is
Baldur's Gate (1+2) Planescape: Torment Fallout (1-3, NV) Stalker (SoC, CS, CoP) C&C (Generals and earlier) Dawn of War I Mount and Blade: Warband Just Cause 2 All good SP games, and most available very cheaply off Amazon, Play, etc.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Master of Magic (runs well with Dosbox) Etherlords Homeworld 2
Metro 2033
i already have everything by valve on steam. Its just that steams offline mode is impossible to load up most of the time.
You have to put it into offline mode BEFORE your internet is down. Click steam in the upper corner and go to go offline. That way, steam will pretty much always launch in offline mode
Beneath a Steel Sky It's free on GOG.
Bioshock 1 & 2, played them twice. Great sp games imo.
Dwarf Fortress. This game can keep you entertained for a long time. But it is very niche, you'll either love it or hate it.
I can also Recommend this game, if you have any problems just pop on in to the Dwarf Fortress 2012 thread, we can help with most problems.
Torchlight Psychonauts Sam & Max series The Walking Dead
Skyrim
Command and Conquer Red Alert 2/Generals/Tiberian sun/Tiberium wars.
Tricky Truck

The diablo games are fun. Oh... Grab the first two though.
Garry's Mod Arma 2 Civ 5 Minecraft Skyrim
Doom I & II Duke Nukem 3D Blood Mirror's Edge The Elder Scrolls games Oh, and Serious Sam games are pretty good if you like constant swarms of enemies and feeling like the ultimate badass after killing them.
