guys, i'm considering building jazz orientated sample packs featuring 1900-1950 jazz loops, cuts, brass/piano/winds stabs, smooth chords, vinyl drums, and what not (mostly for nujazz and electro swing)...do you considere it a good idea?
Yeah, sounds good. I'd give it a look, at least
[img_thumb]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BAKbVLHCUAAIgr8.png:large[/img_thumb] Madeon's new song.
Wow that makes half of my tracks look fucking tiny lmfao
It looks (somewhat) bigger than it is though, since he has it smeared out over a lot of tracks. If it were my project, I'd be cramming everything onto the first 15 to 20 tracks or so, and some Automation clips below that :v:.

I love all kind of jazzy drums and pianos
I'm kind of torn. I like the ambient/experimental/IDM direction Holy Helix is taking, but I want to make stuff that's more punk and industrial (I've done so in the past). Do I be one of those artists who changes their sound every album or so or do I make a new music project? Decisions decisions...
I need a (instrument) recording program that is free (or VERY cheap). I want to line in my bass into my computer. I have an MBox 2 with Pro Tools LE 7. The problem is, Pro Tools LE 7 only works for Windows XP Service Pack 2.
REAPER, It's cheap as chips and just as good as the expensive stuff.
I suggest StageLight. It's 10 Bucks.
working on my very own vst sampler, guys! gonna be chuckfulled with vinyl drums, jazz loops, rhodes, and what not. skin preview, unfinished GUI!
Trying to learn YYZ by Rush on bass. Anyone else ever try it? (My fingers are on fire)
I used to play it in a band, you need a good drummer or it all goes to hell :v:
I used to play it in a band, you need a good drummer or it all goes to hell :v:
Lol, it isn't that hard drum-wise. Ya just gotta know the intro/outro riff and the rest is pretty straigthforward. Anyways, bought me some beyerdynamic DT770 pro 80hm headphones today at a lowered price. They sound awesome.
[img_thumb]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BAKbVLHCUAAIgr8.png:large[/img_thumb] Madeon's new song.
Does one really need that many patterns and samples in one song?
Does one really need that many patterns and samples in one song?
Most of it looks like automation.
How many of you have a Facebook page for your music project?
How many of you have a Facebook page for your music project?
I personally find it a waste of time unless you've gathered a decent fan base size and people start demanding for one if not, it looks a little bit big headed imo
How many of you have a Facebook page for your music project?
i've got one for cheesypoop but i rarely use it anymore
Damn, the soundcloud app on IOS crashes everytime I try to start it since the new update :(
Damn, the soundcloud app on IOS crashes everytime I try to start it since the new update :(
The android version is pretty terrible too if that's any consolation to you.
May I suggest that anyone here who uses (a legit version of) FL signs up to the Image Line forums, there's so many useful resources there that could help you vastly improve your musical skill + your workflow in FL, and plus, Madeon still posts there :v:
wondering how to start singing properly I want to play/sing at the same time and I can play fine, but I don't know shit all about singing - I just sorta roughly match the way a song's supposed to be sung and a few people claim that its in tune. I want to learn and make sure though. Literally all I know is don't hold back and 'use your diaphraghm'.
Want to start playing drums No knowledge on subject How do
I'd post an attempt here but that would just be embarassing
Want to start playing drums No knowledge on subject How do
Get a teacher and/or online lessons or just practice keeping rhythm to a steady BPM then start practicing basic drum rudiments [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline]
I'd post an attempt here but that would just be embarassing
Don't worry, we're all aspiring musicians in this section, we won't judge you

Damn it, when I get new effect plugins they corrupt this project, I had a pretty good feeling about this too
Want to start playing drums No knowledge on subject How do
Only way to start playing drums is to get playing mate, look up teachers in your area and contact them asap. Got space and a possibility to play acoustic drums in your current living situation? Get on craigslist or whatever is the equivalent to that in your country, look for drums there and get some. Be sure to inspect them before buying, you don't want any cracks in the drums whatsoever if you're going to buy from some stranger, don't worry if everything else looks beaten up though, drumskins can be changed and you can always use slightly rusted cymbals if you just take a few minutes of your life to treat them with oils. Don't got the space and opportunity for acoustic? Get electronic, they won't feel as good as acoustics (not by a long shot) but they will give you a way of playing the drums at any hour of the day AND since you can plug them into your computer you can always fix the drumsound you want, so there's one good thing about electronic drums
