Is someone maybe interested in making collab? I can make drumming and guitaring and bassplaying but I think my main instrument is drums
How do you guys get inspiration for music you do?
Been trying to do some House music and what not but all the beats that comes up in my mind are all hard rock/metal sounding since it's what I've been listening to for like a more than a decade and only recently have I started being interested in electronic/house/whathaveyou.
Other music is a huge one, there's tons of other inspirational sources, but listening to other music is a major one.

Well then start listening to more House music obviously :v:.
I get inspiration from literally everything and anything. Sometimes it's when I've just turned my computer off and I'm about to go to bed. I'll suddenly get an idea for a melody in my head or something, and then turn my PC back on :v:.
And like Pal13 said, listening to other music (and not just music in the genre you're trying to make) can be inspirational.
is there a way to double-track in reason? so it puts out 2 of the same track but twice over, i need some serious pan works on some of my synths and recreating two just to pan it a bit doesnt seem necessary
Double tracking, afaik, is usually made to add that "human" factor to song. Small imperfections in the timing and accents that make the sound bigger. Thus just copying the track and panning differently wont have same kind of effect.
I, however, have really limited experience in double-tracking, as I have only ever double-tracked guitars and bass (ola englund way). So i have no idea why its done with keys, that tend to go 1:1 to beat.

I don't use reason, but can you send it to two different buses/send channels and pan them?

guitars and accoustic instruments generally don't have the problem of being too centre-panned because they naturally don't oscillate in that way, and reverberate around its environment. synths can sometimes just be a little too thin because of the way they're made

yeah i had this thought today lol. it was a bit stupid of me to have to ask that, its the whole reason wiring exists in reason

It does, kinda.
You just gotta make sure that one of the tracks has a small delay (like 20 ms) and then you can hard-pan them for a pretty decent effect. There's actually a few plugins out there that do exactly this for you, saving you the trouble.
Check out Waves doubler for example.

I love to play around with these little things that batuhan does. Been playing with this one a two hours or so :v:
What's the difference between hoovers and reeses?

FL Studio 10 question:
Does anyone might know why that when I'm playing a song in FL Studio, in song mode, there's a constant like clipping/crackling sort of noise throughout. This is the same noise I'm used to hearing sometimes when my computer might be using too much memory/lagging, or maybe when I'm scrolling around in the playlist quickly, causing a sort of lag to create these noises. But the difference is that I'm doing nothing, there is no performance (memory) issues, and FL Studio 10 is the only program open. I know it's not the track or anything related to it either (that isn't to say that I didn't muck things up somehow) because this did not occur early on, and when I export a .mp3 or .wav it's not heard at all.
So it's definitely some sort of playback issue. It's not a big deal or anything, it's just quite annoying when I'm trying to playback and sort of get in-tune with my song and there's this constant crackling, causing me to have to export a portion of my track every time I really want to immerse myself by listening to the track repeatedly.

Just noticed that when muting iZotope Ozone 5 from the Master Channel that this crackling phenomenon decreases significantly/completely disappears. However, still not sure why it occurs only in playback and not in the exported audio file. At this point I'm just assuming it might be something with FL Studio 10 struggling with performance when all these plug-in's are being utilized during a live playback.

with pad generators and third party plugins you have to make sure they're not using up too much bandwidth in your daw, otherwise it can cause white noise or crackling. sometimes when i have like 4 absynths open at once playing a note it can create a lot of that kinda crackling but never so much with others like fm8 or massive
Also, blown, so thinking of an idea:
Would anyone be interested in a thread whose purpose is to function as a sort of "Synth Marketplace?" By marketplace I mean a thread in which one could showcase/offer/barter synth presets that they've made in x VST with others to see if anyone might be interested in trading one their presets (or even just knowledge) in exchange for someone else's preset/knowledge.

Tbh people will rpobably give you some presets if you ask nicely. I would at least.
Anyway about that crackling, check your latency buffer size, try to make it higher and see if that helps.

I always thought it sounded like a crunchier saw.

Try increasing your ASIO buffer size as a temporary fix. These are all the symptoms of high CPU load or slow plugins. Some "mastering" plugins just aren't designed to be ran in real time. The tradeoff of a larger buffer is you get a longer delay between input (Such as a mic, MIDI keyboard or changing a parameter on a synth) and actually hearing the change.
My workflow will be completely different to yours, but when I work with a plugin like izotope I get my mix damn near perfect without it, export a stereo mix and import that into a new DAW session with just the plugins I need to master that stereo mix. (Whether that be izotope or some mental combination of plugins) - This also removes the temptation of wanting to tweak the mix with the plugin enabled which will usually end in tears and a ruined mix.
When you hit this processing wall it pays to think about how you utilize effects. It may not apply much to FL in particular, but sticking 'Verbs on sends rather than having 5 or 6 verbs spread across channels as inserts can help. Especially if you are into convolution reverbs and such.
I hit this wall with my previous AMD 6000+ based computer, I was mixing rock music that was getting close to 40-50 mono tracks at a time, I kept having to change the way I work to keep everything usable at the low buffer, low latency settings I need. The combination of upgrading to an i5 and getting a "liquid mix" (Processing is done externally over firewire) has really helped in this respect.
why does every inspirational video have to use explosions in the sky
Hey guys, out of curiosity, what's your favorite time signature to write in?
not too good at keeping to one signature but my stuff generally ends up in 8/4
some ends up in septuple meter though and that's just odd
Hey mates, I made a thread for a song I did and it died without a single post.
I would really, REALLY like it if you could at least make some criticism.

Is there a way to hook up a Microkorg to a computer and actually hear the sounds coming from it on the computer itself? Not just like using it as a midi-controller. Sorry if this is a dumb question haha
If there isn't, what would be the best way to produce with a Microkorg and FL? Just using it as a controller makes it feel kind of obsolete

Use an audio interface?
What would the audio interface do?

Currently learning this by ear. Got the lick down but I can't play it for shit at that speed and also learnt most of the "solo". I just can't get part of it down and my fingertips have been shredded because this is the first time I've really tried tapping.
This is to no one in particular, but if you've got the time, watch this:

Pretty interesting.
I didn't know you could embed Vimeo videos! I'm checking this out btw, thanks.
