Africa is in the shape that it's in for a myriad of different reasons. Exploitation is only a small factor, and it's only a problem in certain areas.

USA or some other country gives huge sum of money to some African country. Whatever was elected gives a bit of this to his Guerrillas and then goes off to Europe for some vacation.

The problem with South Africa is that the majority have been oppressed and denied education for a long time during apartheid, and then suddenly have rule of the country. Things didn't work out. Although I have to say, it is getting better. Crime rates are down 8% for murder and more for others.

I mean, my family descends directly from a Dutch bloodline, I can trace it all the way back to the Elizabethan era.
But there's a guy in my class who's an "English Afrikaaner", probably descendant from a different colony. He asked if I'd be offended if he learns Afrikaans.
