WAYT just seems like "random post cos im feeling quirky xD" to me, and it honestly comes across as a cringe thread.

WAYT only served to inflate post count.
When Hezzy decided that Fast Threads posts wouldn't count any more I remember some people being royally pissed off.
Also the guy who went from like 20k posts to 800
I post in wayt because it lets me vent in a way that isn't really acceptable elsewhere

It's because it is. This is unpopular opinions, not scathing facts. Speaking of unpopular opinions, Call of Pripyat is the best STALKER game and Shadow of Chernobyl is roughly equal to Clear Sky.
Up is one of the most front-loaded films I've ever watched. I'm convinced that people only rate it highly because of the first 10 minutes, because I've yet to meet someone say that their favorite part was anywhere in the other 80 minutes.

I think it's quality as hell all the way through. It's just been overshadowed in pop culture by that goddamn opening sequence.

I like that there's a thread that allows for just general thoughts and conversations, but yeah I agree that too often it's just "I'm quirky!!!" crap.
Like not to shit on the regulars there, and while I wouldn't call myself a regular I post there every now and then myself... But I don't get that stuff.

I agree, despite posting randumb lmao lolxd stuff there all the time. It's kind of useful for a forum to have a designated garbage dumping location, I think.
I only post kitty stuff there from time to time. I mean, who doesn't like seeing kitty pictures or videos. It's not like this place has a designated aww pictures thread anyway (but god knows it needs one :pudge:)
I'm playing Daikatana and enjoying it so far. The frog were annoying but past that it's pretty fun
Rather than Half-Life 3, i would actually be more excited about a game set between HL1 and 2. Could allow for non-combine terrestrial enemies such as looters, cannibals, and whatever monsters are created as a result of an alien invasion and Earth's fauna evolving around it.

There's a ton of cool shit to explore outside of the main story arc.
Too bad we won't get any official spin off games until the episodes are finished. So probably never.

IMO a lot of the games that make the clickbait "WORSTEST GAMES EVAR!!!!111!!!" lists usually are just mediocre at worst. A truly abysmal game in my eyes is the kind of shit on bootleg NES carts or Steam's New Releases. Something that can hardly be considered functional let alone playable.
[sp]I bought the Bubsy SNES pack on Steam expecting them to be unplayable like the internet made it out to be but it turned out to be the okayest set of 90's mascot platformers and I have no regrets putting them alongside the other games I have loaded onto my SNES Classic. [/sp]
I am pretty sure only Bubsy 3D is the one that is notoriously terrible. The 2D ones are playable, but uninteresting.

2D Bubsy games are still a sin when it comes to platform games. Very poor and questionable design choices just for the sake of making it more cartoonish.

The level design on the ground is too congested for a game trying to be a Sonic clone but just pressing the glide button makes the fall damage a non-issue since it instantly slows falls.
You also have pretty much no reason to not always glide since you get a good horizontal speed boost and you have a wider hitbox to hit most enemies with.
Regardless it's not nearly bad enough to make it onto "Worst Games" lists. Heck without the marketing campaign and 3D they'd probably have been forgotten among the other 90's platformers that tried to cash-in on the Sonic craze.

I hate minimalist web design with every fiber of my being. Where did humanity go astray when it became cool for websites to look like a less detailed version of AOL Kids Only?
At least Microsoft finally realized how dumb that shit was after Windows 8 and stopped trying to force that shit onto a whole desktop OS.
As for web pages, it's probably thinking along the lines of "It works fine for mobile so desktop users can use it too"

That image is such a cherrypick, both on how good "old design" was and how bad "new design" is. Stuff like there being no separate mobile version is a flat lie.
There's a lot of benefits of it which lend to it being very popular. Better load times as the graphics are much more compressible, better direction of user attention due to the contrast between the minimalist interface and the content, and better scalability. Since it's not just mobile vs. desktop, but it's a wide variety of resolutions and DPIs. An svg looks great on an 8k monitor, even if it's on a laptop, and on 680x480.

Fixed that for you.
Honestly, it's a newer style that can be alright if done right. The problem is whenever or not it is done right...
Karma is complete bullshit.
Karma is complete bullshit.
I don't think it's a guaranteed thing and as a spiritual concept it's (probably) bullshit, but doing good things for others can absolutely expose you to more good will in return. People like it when you're kind to them, and making connections and friendships can be rewarding in many different ways, both tangible and intangible.

Obviously, but I've known people like my dad who think that the universe itself is constantly keeping score of your good and bad deeds and doling out rewards and punishments accordingly. That's unbelievably stupid.

I see it as cause and effect tbh
Smartness needs to be brought back.
Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are awful piece of shit games with terrible combat, terrible controls, and to top it off everything runs at 15 or 20 fps which makes my head physically hurt. And to top THAT off, you have to play it with the N64 controller. I recognize how there could be something worthwhile buried under there but I just can't get past the headache and how terrible doing absolutely anything feels.
I see it as cause and effect tbh
Sometimes the effect ends up being the exact opposite of what you expected/wanted. That shit's inconsistent.

they've definitely aged but i think if you played the 3ds versions that have good performance and controls you might understand why theyre considered masterpieces

The direct effect sure, but not long term. Also whether or not you expect/hope for it isn't really relevant
No True Scotsman is one of the most poorly applied fallacies, and we should all stop calling it out until people can understand where it actually fits.
The way I always see it applied in internet arguments, I could claim that democracy is a dangerous political system, because look at North Korea. Then when someone goes, "North Korea is obviously not actually democratic you dense motherfucker," I can say, "HAHA! That's a ~No True Scotsman~, I win all internet arguments!"
It requires more thought to determine instances in which it can reasonably be applied, so naturally it's never applied correctly.
I see it as cause and effect tbh
More like logic, if you're nice to people, people will be nice to you.
