The episode 3 clone troopers is still the coolest fucking armour in the whole galaxy
I like how they got different units with diff patterns and looks.
if there is one thing I absolutely owe my life to the prequels for, it's republic commando
Worrying about having no way to fight the government if you have your guns taken away, yet not worrying about making your government's military obscenely powerful and impossible to fight against to begin with.
I always wonder about cases like that - it's really weird to see people who are otherwise nationalistic and glorify the armed forces and the 'patriots' that serve the country just completely ignored entirely if the above scenario played out. I mean, do people assume that absolutely every single one of those military people aren't human beings that can't take a stand or identify when they're committing genocide/enforcing the rule of law of a fascist? It's one thing if the military establishment was entirely full of said fascists, but why do you thump your chests about how proud you are of them, yet don't trust them enough to be on your side against your paranoia of a government that pretty much needs the military to do their dirty work and maintain control on the people?
Wish more strategy/building games were more old-school pixelish like some of the "tycoon" games or Factorio. Some of those games being 3D just feel weird.
Disney Canon has kinda muddied the waters in terms of canonical strength for factions like the Empire. Not to mention the whole "One X-Wing defeats a capital ship's defense systems all by his lonesome" was fucking stupid

I'm not a Star Wars fan but I played the shit out of the original Battlefront games on PS2.
I'll eventually get around to playing Republic Commando, but I'm too lazy to install the unofficial patches.
[sp]i say as i plan on installing all the fixes needed for the Steam version of Crazy Tax :v:i[/sp]
I went away for a bit and came back thinking i was in the star wars thread.
I've come to the conclusion that JJ Abrams shouldn't make films and R Johnson shouldn't make star wars films (I've not seen his other films, so I don't feel justified in making blanket statements) or they should only make films of some other writer. I really liked the interactions between finn and Kylo got a much better spotlight in the second film, so they have aspects they do well at, but JJ is a man of 6-7 out of 10 films and TLJ was full of so many objectively-broken (and popularly unenjoyable) things.
Speaking of the one credit nost people give the prequels I completely disagree with; the Original Trilogy's lightsaber combat is wayyy better than the Prequels.
Best thing to come outta the prequels were the games amirite guyz
I think the best thing to come out of Star Wars period were the games.
Battlefront 2, Republic Commando, KotOR, Dark Forces, Demolition, X-Wing, Rogue Squadron, the Lego games I guess if you're into that. . .
If I had to choose between never watching the films again, or never playing the games again, I'd give up the films in a heartbeat.
Star Wars Ep 6 had the coolest lightsaber fight with Luke just wailing on Vader after he mentions Leia. It's just pure rage, none of this "Jedis = Ninjas" shit that you see in the prequels.

Fortnite is better than PUBG,better graphics, better gameplay, better optimization and way less bugs than PUBG. Maybe even no bugs (I haven't encountered any yet)

"No bugs" will never be true for any software as complex as a game. Hell, some hardware has bugs, just look at Spectre and Meltdown
[editline]1st March 2018[/editline]
Or the Pentium 4 square root bugs.

It does have some bugs but in less amount compared to PUBG
i don't really understand why someone would play pubg over fortnite, its like the same game but with a boring, gritty, grey filter over it
i don't really understand why someone would play pubg over fortnite, its like the same game but with a boring, gritty, grey filter over it
Lots of people enjoy the slower pace and game flow of PUBG.
TBH, comparing FN to Pubg is kinda like comparing LoL to DotA: Conceptionally the same, but fundamentally different.

its the opposite for me, fortnite has this really tiny shit map, awful building mechanics where people just place tons of walls in front of them while running, and has even more rng with the rarities
Lots of people enjoy the slower pace and game flow of PUBG.
Pretty much this.
I've been playing Fortnite with my friends for a while now, and I have yet to experience the same feeling of suspense like I did in PUBG.

On the contrary, I don't know why someone would play yet another game with Fortnite's oversaturated cartoonish art style. They're a dime a dozen these days.
i absolutely despise the gunplay and general flow of combat in fortnite compared to pubg
while pubg has garbage netcode and stuff, i like being able to take a dude out in the middle of a clearing with just a few shots instead of wildly shooting at him while he builds walls to block my bullets
Which is why you aggresively push forward
It doesn't really work on my though, I'm kinda bad :v:

You get suspense on the top 5
That's when the game slows down as almost everyone starts playing slow to stay alive
Now when you get to top 2 is when shit hits the fan
i don't really understand why someone would play pubg over fortnite, its like the same game but with a boring, gritty, grey filter over it
To say this is to not understand the nuances of each game.
Fortnite is a faster-paced, smaller, arcade-esque game with building and much simpler resource and weapon management.
PUBG is a slower-paced, fuckhuge (so much so that it requires the vehicles Fortnite doesn't have), simulation-esque game where there's like three different scopes and three different types of magazine attachments per weapon in addition to multiple different weapons and weapon types.
It's like comparing Arma to Battlefield.
On the contrary, I don't know why someone would play yet another game with Fortnite's oversaturated cartoonish art style. They're a dime a dozen these days.
I personally like the cartoonist style because it ages well, whereas pubg's will probably age in a few years.
I personally just cant play any game with significant downtime. Games like PUBG and Siege bore me to tears because of it. I want to be doing something mechanically and technically engaging at all times if I'm playing a game, not holding an angle or going minutes without seeing anyone. Makes it more frustrating when you die too, as it feels like you did absolutely nothing rewarding and the one tiny interaction you did manage to have decided your fate for the whole round.
I guess I'm just not that patient of a person

I'm the total opposite, I need breathing room in a game. I find the pacing of Siege to be masterful, it's both tense and a respite from intense action. Like the calm before the storm, you know?

This is why I dislike any games with matchmaking. Especially Overwatch. The amount of time I'm not playing the game really makes it feel like a chore to actually play it. "Oh god, now the match is over. Time to wait 2 - 5 minutes until I can play it again with new and even shitter people"

Personally I'm both. I like siege for it's tactical gameplay and the way how every match plays differently but I prefer fortnite over PUBG because of how accessible it is and how you still have a chance of fighting back when you get attacked from a long range (with the build mechanic) whereas in PUBG your fucked unless your near cover or in a vehicle, but vehicles don't always cover you.

I feel siege deals with people dying early pretty well, as they can still be useful to their team as long as there are cameras on the map still active. dead players can use these to give callouts and pings to teammates, and in a game where intel is key, that's a lot of help.
TBH, comparing FN to Pubg is kinda like comparing LoL to DotA: Conceptionally the same, but fundamentally different.
Yeah, one is a well-designed game with intricate mechanics and a wealth of possible interactions between the various types of player actions, leading to a near infinite number of possibilities and thus a high skill cap, and the other is LoL.

Now you're being silly. Even as someone who prefers DotA to LoL, there's nothing wrong with LoL being overall simpler than DotA. For a lot of people, that is the reason why they prefer it.
