this is probably not unpopular but I really miss the 4chan that did not give a shit about anyone and if you actually started to care about something you were called a moralfag. Now it's like the weird moralfags took over, except they're still bigoted racists who take up conservative morals and worship Jordan Peterson. They call black people "lacking morals and dignity" and shit, it's so stupid. I just want a trashy as shit website without all that dumb weird garbage.
4chan used to be about anarchy, basically. Now it's a semi-ironic rallying point for causes. The 2016 election and the rise of the alt-right really killed the last of the old 4chan "zero fucks" culture.
Yeah, I also find it really fun, though I'd be playing it a lot more if the FFA playlists were populated (which IMO consist of the most fun modes in the multiplayer). The only two things I would change personally is to get rid of the loadouts for a more traditional "arena" style where you pick up weapons around the map (though I also think players should be given a good beginning arsenal, like a shotgun and/or an assault rifle) and give players more air control like what you get with that rune in the campaign.
I think the Do You Like The Song Above thread is a wasted opportunity to share and discuss music when a lot of people don't want to say more than "i like it" or "nope" about the song above them. There's no actual discussion happening and that's a shame. Would have been more interesting if people explained what they like about the songs they post and what they really thought about the song above in detail, what is actually was that they liked or didn't like about it. But it's a fast threads thread so I guess the intended purpose isn't to get in depth about anything.
I personally try to add a little bit to my posts there and I appreciate the couple other posters that do that
on old punch I actually ended up in the DMs with another user sharing music because they really liked the last track I posted
Fortnite Battle Royale isn't good.
My issues with the game are the building mechanic is wasted in such a gamemode because of the constant moving, building is only useful for when you get shot at and get an instapaliside against someone, which is obnoxious in its own right. That and the shooting doesn't feel good, I don't like the third person. The game doesn't look that great in terms of art style. It seems more fun if it were a siege/ctf type gamemode, like castle wars from runescape but with building mechanics.
I personally dislike Fortnite for copying PUBG. Not because of copyright stuff or anything like that, but because they had an excellent gameplay concept and threw it all away just to copy a popular concept for some quick bucks.
If by excellent gameplay concept you mean the PvE, which got stale after like first hour, I'd have to disagree. Running after PUBG was actually an excellent idea since before that, it was very quickly heading the Lawbreakers route. Only one streamer that I follow and my boyfriend knew of the game's existence when PvE was all it was.
I don't really care from an ethical standpoint that Fortnite "copied" PUBG, it more just kinda depresses me that the current most popular game is a thoughtless and creatively-bankrupt wave rider.
They could've added PvP and whatnot while still keeping their gameplay concept. But instead they just threw all of their work out of the window and copied another game's. It's also a bit of a dick move to people that supported the development for it's new gameplay. Instead they were rewarded with a battle royale clone. This quick cash-grab behaviour puts it on the same shelf as CoD when it had an annual release. Perhaps even lower since Epic did actually invest time and effort into creating something unique.
A lot of times, they are
The best games either make something new or innovate something that was already there
Beyonce is overrated. (although, Single Ladies rocks my world)
The best SCP is 035 because reasons.
A lot of modern anime looks so uniform and plain. It has to be well animated or have good art for me to even notice half the time.
Say what you want about pre-2002 anime, a lot of it was distinct. Even the crap was mildly interesting if you found something that had a unique voice.
Except late game of course, where the building is used for hardcore camping which imo is where battle royales stop being fun. I still like a lot tho simply because it actually works.
That's the risk you should accept with early access games? It's not really uncommon for games to make turns during development and the alternative here probably would have been the developers giving up on it entirely like with paragon.
I never got why people care so much about this.
Most geniuses throughout history can still be pretty easily placed within movements and have the people who influenced them laid out, humans are not usually that original and I care WAY more about execution and context rather than originality.
Also even PUBG was basically a clone of movies and shit like Survivor GameZ.
Mate, I'm not bothered at all about games "copying PUBG", but it's just a shame that an original game just got thrown into the trash.
For whatever reason facepunch won't let me remove the quote so ignore it.
If we're still on the topic of video game shotguns than half life 2's is easily the worst one. The sound doesn't have oomph in it and hitting an enemy with it has no satisfaction.
10 years late, but those who complain about the Flood and off topic on a thread instead of using the report function and then, say "You only care about your post count" on it only care about their own post number instead of being active on a forum.
boy you havent seen the super-intense build off pro players have
Deaf people are disabled
since when was a fact an opinion
I guess people might say that about something that's not necessarily obvious like flat feet, but deafness? That's just retarded.
The deaf community does not like being called disabled. Deaf culture is a real thing and there is often resentment towards deaf people who get cochlear implants.
That sounds kinda fucked up, to be honest
Why do I get the feeling that this is a small group of retards that hog the spotlight on the internet, like 99% of similar cases.
I'll never understand people who reject technology that would improve their lives. I'll extra never understand people who shame others for improving their lives through technology.
While I have no desire to offend, I cannot help but find that stance absolutely ridiculous and quite possibly damaging.
Driving sucks and I hate it. It is nice to be able to get from one place to another REAL FAST but I don't get a sense of freedom so much as stress and anxiety out the ass. Won't see me complaining about self driving cars
I've gone back and forth on this. I used to hate driving cause I lived in the suburbs and everything was far away. I left my car with my parents when I went to college in the city, and I immediately wished I had my car so I had more choices for grocery stores and stuff. Ultimately, I like being able to go wherever I want, but I hope for good autonomous vehicles so that I don't have to do the actual driving myself.
Examples of this? It's the first time I've heard of this type of "deaf culture".
I've been vaguely aware of it for a while. It's a very insular community.
