With a lot of lubricant and a buttload of patience
wait, this isn't the confessions thread
Letterboxd is better than IMDB is a lot of ways and I find myself using it more.
Soul Caliber 2 is overrated (but still good) and that Soul Caliber 5 was better.
I don't get the purpose of remasters. It's the same game you've played before but with new graphics.
Sometimes you just wanna play an old game you really love, but the graphical/engine limitations of the time make it less enjoyable now that you've gotten a taste of modern games. They can also fix bugs and annoying mechanics/AI issues.
I'd love to see a proper remaster of something like Warcraft 3 or Diablo 2, those are among my favorite games of all time but they don't really play that well these days. Diablo 2 max resolution is something like 800x1000, which is kind of terrible on modern PCs and issues like item clutter make it less enjoyable, both of which could be fixed (for instance, automatically pick up gold when you walk on it and don't fill literally 90% of the screen with text when you kill a boss)
Warcraft 3 is good when it comes to gameplay, but the graphics and voice acting could be improved upon a lot with a remaster as well. Blizzard could potentially even add a new bonus campaign if they remastered the game.
Try playing Shadow of the Colossus on the PS2. Runs at 15fps, resolution is dogshit. Now play the remaster on the PS3. 1080p, 60fps. Beautiful. Then play the PS4 remake. Mastapeece.
You may have a constitutional right to own a gun but I think it's stupid right and shouldn't be considered a natural right
Honestly the gameplay needs improvement too, when it comes to the UI.
Actually most RTS games become kind of hard to play once you've been playing Starcraft 2 for awhile.
Also ARGUABLY you could raise the unit selection cap in wc3, you can't really do it in starcraft 1 since it's kind of crucial to the shit unit pathfinding, though even if they did raise it in wc3 they would need to add an option to disable it for purists.
As well, remasters often give people direct opportunities to play games they haven't. Before the remake of shadow of the colossus, there were quite a few people who knew about it just due to its cult status, but never really got around to playing it.
Yeah, when the Starcraft remaster was announced, I was hoping there'd be an option to enable increased unit cap for the singleplayer campaign at least, 12 units max is terribly fucking low especially when spamming cheap units like zerglings or marines. I was a bit let down by Blizzard's decision to keep the purists happy by not enabling the increased cap for anyone. Pathfinding I can understand being left shit though (although I'd also have preferred it to be improved)
Hotdogs and sausages are mostly disgusting
The texture of the inside are just wrong, and often the taste is p. overwhelming.
I can see where you're coming from with hot dogs, because cheap ones tend to have a very bizarre texture that doesn't resemble meat at all. But good sausages are really good and meaty, and if they're good enough, they won't be overloaded with spices to cover up trash-quality meat.
Chicken is boring and bland, and if you season it or whatever it just makes the outermost layer a bit flavorful, but the rest is still just like you're eating nothing.
still bleh, you can paint flames on a junker car but it won't go any faster, it's the base flavor of bland plus the texture that just doesn't do it for me
The laurel/yanny debate wants to be the black and blue/white and yellow dress debate so much, but lacks anything that made the dress debate interesting in any way
Remasters aren't necessarily just improved graphics. They can also come with bugfixes, performance improvements, and sometimes even gameplay changes to improve negative aspects of the game. Also there's the whole part where the old version may not even run on modern hardware whereas the remaster would.
Maybe they aren't acting like guns aren't a part of the problem, but rather pushing back against the nonsense, garbage regulations that people propose directly after those incidents without knowing anything about the situation, statistics, or existing gun laws other than "guns r bad how dare someone defend them".
Maybe if the proposals weren't so consistently trash, they could get some support from people who care just as much but have a better understanding.
The issue is that 90% of the suggestions and points people make for gun control are impressively terrible (for a wide variety of reasons I'd be happy to go into), so it often comes across like I'm defending guns when I'm not. I just think things like assault weapons bans are incredibly pointless and do nothing except drive innocent people further towards the GOP.
Here's some real content, and I think this is a legitimately unpopular opinion. TERFs and SWERFs (trans-exclusionary radical feminists and sex worker-exclusionary radical feminists) are still feminists. Saying "they're not REAL feminists!" is a lame cop-out.
Feminism is such a universal ideology and movement that I feel like it's pointless to try to justify radical, marginal elements. At the same time, though, I see people overstate the scope and significance of their ideology much more than I see people try to accommodate their existence with flimsy cop-outs.
It's worthwhile to call out toxic and reactionary ideology wherever it appears. When it comes to feminism and SocJus in particular, though, it feels as if that scrutiny is offered only to small tumblr blogs that are irrelevant and/or clowned on already in an effort to validate existing biases and beliefs.
TERFs are getting less and less marginal, though.
I feel like I might agree with you, but I may need some clarification on this to know for sure.
tartar sauce with fries > all other condiments with fries
The almighty strength of fries is that they go well with any condiment.
not toothpaste
don't tempt me motherfucker
No Thelurker, toothpaste is not a condiment.
Mouthwash isn't a condiment either.
Are we gonna have to have an FP intervention over your dietary choices??
IPAs are the worst kind of beer. Lagers are the best. Fuck IPAs, fuck hops. What kind of flavor is hops? Hops suck. You wouldn't order a hops salad so why drink it.
Almost all beer is just uppity piss-water flavored with hopps. The only good beers are those which are made without hops and are based on old school/ancient recipes.
