The thing is we have the capacity to OVER feed everyone on this planet, its just distribution is an issue because it's not profitable to do so. I can't think of any other issue of "overpopulation" that can't be solveable very much into the forseeable future. Land and housing? Solve urban sprawl. Energy needs? Nuclear, tidal and other renewables. the issue is that there's actors against these things because, short term, it's SLIGHTLY detrimental to their over all well being (despite still being well off and everyone else being far, far more well off in the long run).
it always comes back to the individuals wanting profit for themselves over the people
Human population on Earth will likely plateau around 11 billion people, which is more than sustainable with our current resource supply.
Eh, depends who you ask. I read an article from ABC that suggested population will level out at 9 billion whereas the United Nations said there is a slight chance population could keep growing past 18 billion. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/218809/666a1dd2-5244-4d14-84b0-1423b9ab9836/World.png The UN graph agrees with 11/12 billion as likely but there's no guarantee. There's also plenty of random factors. Population is weird, man.
The next movie is the leftover avengers teaching Thanos how to put condom over his dick
I haven't seen the new avengers, or most marvel movies, but does it even take into account that fact that people live all over space in the MCU?
The whole point is that Thanos is batshit insane, hence the "Mad titan" part. Of course his plan is stupid and crazy, the man is not all there in the head.
Battlefield V will be great in the gameplay changes are true, and there being women in the game doesn't negate that at all. It's a piece of historical fiction.
In the next movie, Thanos is defeated, but dropped off a the psychiatric hospital for evaluation
i mean yeah it is a bit ridiculous she's using a rifle with that arm, but that style of arm itself was actually in use during WWII. I'm waiting until we see actual gameplay to judge.
Sure, but its ridiculous to have someone rushing into the middle of combat with one.
So basically the same route they went with in BF1? (Although dieselpunk is a more appropriate term)
which i said.
he's only the mad titan in the comics, they never mention that in the movies.
I don't think one can do the things he did in the movie for the specific goal in mind without being insane.
I mean, one guy in this thread thought Thanos idea had merit, it's more likely that you think.
Yeah and now I have a mental note to stay away from the bloke
No idea how unpopular it is, but a lot of people are reacting negatively to the BFV trailer purely because it features a woman, and lots of people don't want to accept that. Ya can't brush it away as youtube comments suck/twitch chat sucks/reddit suck or whatever, it's still a lot of people who are circlejerking over something inane like that. Or, to put it another way, a substantial amount of gamers simply hold sexist/racist/whatever views which contributes to a majority of negative reception if a game features a protagonist who isn't a white dude, and ya can't act like that section of gamers don't exist.
Guardians of the Galaxy, actually (iirc)
Missionary is an awful position (for the guy, at least)
there's the majority who have honest concerns about historical accuracy and the designs sucking (which they very much do), and then there's the people who hide behind those concerns. stuff like this: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/375/595/2b2.jpg i mean it's just a chick with a prosthetic arm, i don't see what that has to do with SJWs or bullyhunters or whatever. it comes across to me like someone was threatened by the idea of the character in itself more than anything else, and we would see much the same image if it was a game set in 2018 or what have you. which is just shitty, because fictional women should be allowed to have hook hands and shitty haircuts if they want.
Assuming that the infinity stones can't just create new matter out of nothing, Thanos' idea isn't necessarily wrong. It's extremely immoral, but in his experience doing nothing is the worst option. His world died because of it. He would rather lose half of the population, but have the living live prosperous. In the MCU, he doesn't perform genocide because he wants to, but because someone must do it.
If you ignore all scientific reality on the issue of overpopulation sure
Ask yourself a simple question: Is it better to let an entire civilization die, or is it better to kill half of it and let the other half live? In Thanos' experience, overpopulation causes a life of hunger, poverty and eventually death. If the population is halved, the remaining population will live happily and with food to spare. Sure, you can learn to live with overpopulation, but it would be better not to have it.
Here let me poke a hole in his plan Why doesn't he just snap infinite resources into reality? Why doesn't he just snap all the garbage and pollution away? Why doesn't he just snap more room for people to live in? Why doesn't he just snap his fingers to fix every problem? You see where I'm going with this?
Or if we stay more in line with his goal: Why doesn't he just snap the birthrate in half or even lower? There, your problem will eventually fix itself in few generations and no one had to die.
Because he has a crush on Death and the best way to impress Death itself is to kill people, duh Why doesn't he snap his fingers and make Death fall in love with him? Because that'd be OP.
Ignore this quote I don't get Facepunch's hate boner for TF2
As an outsider, it looks to me less like hatred and more like pining for that which once was.
Doubt this is unpopular, but waffle/sugar cones are the way to eat ice cream.
