you don't become automatically good, you need practise
finally, a convincing argument for trans women in the military
I've found that quite a few games I loved became less fun the more serious they were taken and the more competitive they became.
Like this happened to league of legends and dota. Beta & S1 league of legends was such a mess and you had so much freedom, since things were just so unbalanced and builds unoptimized. Games were so different from eachother, whereas now all the lanes are pretty set who will run there, builds just come off of mobafire/probuilds. Similarly with dota but I think less people will relate since the "no fucks given" period was way back in WC3 (not late wc3 dota. early wc3 dota too.)
Although this might not actually have much to do with esports, might just be player skill going up over time and leaving less room for fucking around.
so basically you're a scrub and can't handle others getting good
cough cough OWL
This applies to all pretty much all tiers of play though.
Unless you're a smurfing ass, but even then it really just frees YOU up to run weird gimmicks, but it doesn't mean the people around you aren't build slaves just going w/ whatever meta.
I'm really annoyed by all the trendy 'In the now' or whatever cool silicon valley tech popping up all over my facebook feeds. Most of them are extremely clickbaity, their products are expensive af and they aren't really solutions to existing problems/make things overly complicated.
They are like the new kickstarter crap
minus only a few exceptions, i think focusing on retribution and what people "deserve" is extremely unhealthy and ultimately helps nobody.
People shat all over Juicero but that piece of shit was the symptom of a larger trend, not the cause of it.
That's why I'm not fond of DragonBall FighterZ having the little square icon that's basically just a second very vague rank system that is also affected by casual matches.
It negates the whole point of not picking ranked.
Rampant materialism/individualism is a cancer on most societies
tbh I think it's fine if investors want to just throw fuckloads of money at random projects to see what sticks.
Over time it'll decline anyways. Juicero etc. were risks that aren't paying off. Businesses failing is a good thing as it tells others what not to do. (although juicero was particularly laughable)
materialism definitely is, but individualism is by no means a cancer
it’s consumerism and it’s the reason why there’s such a big market for funko pops and super hero movies
weve degenerated to just material things nothing has value anymore unless it has a $ before it
uncle ted was right
By rampant individualism I mean to the point where people are completely selfish and self-absorbed and care only about themselves and their own well being. Without any regard to their neighbors or fellow countryman's well-being.
oh I see, that's just selfishness which I think happens everywhere. To me, individualism is self reliance, personal agency and independence
Individualism is used to justify that though. "Rugged individualism" is used as an excuse to cut safety nets.
"Pick yourself up by the bootstraps" is another term that coincides with this, predominantly used by out of touch baby boomers
Age old sources of happiness are slowly fading away from existence things like religion, a traditional family structure, etc. are slowly going away as more people turn atheist and divorce rates continue to increase not to mention abortions as well.
and suicide rates continuously go up and loneliness was ruled as a nation wide epidemic by the surgeon general all because one and two people households have increased tremendously over the last couple years
what a time to be alive
yes it's absolutely that and not because the income gap and poverty is on the rise in America while safety nets that relieve people of stressful conditions continue to be eroded
joke:
woke:
abortions are way down
these didn't provide happiness in themselves. they were just means of building social connections
You're probably posting this as a cause and effect thing since it's in unpopular opinions and not shit that gets you mad, but in my experience most people are just working more hours in shittier jobs for less pay. Unhealthy work cultures impact almost every facet of living.
I meant abortions in general
you’re right the only reason I go to church every Sunday is to make new friends
yes. this is true I agree with you on this I just think there’s more to this than just a huge gap in wealth
Is this another "do you REALLY want me to drag this thing out i don't wanna argue about this tbh i made the post 99.9% just to get a reaction "
nah vro I made this cause it’s genuinely how I’m feeling about the world today, I’m sorry if you interpreted it that way
well yea I want to eat the rich but I also dont need moralist bullshit in my life lol
Gene Ray was on to something
what is this?
Hardly a cancer though. Individualism is great in that it values self sufficient, hopefully free thinking and responsible people as opposed to focusing on groups, and thus inevitably on group identity - which is always a danger with the human mind's propensity for us-vs-them thinking.
What is a problem is self-centered, narrow minded, small hearted and ignorant people who neither take into consideration the realities of others, nor would care even if they did. Such people would exist with collectivist thinking as well, only difference would be that they would relegate action on such things to those in out-groups, and would somewhat inauthentically play along with the whims of such a collectivist society in order to fit in.
Same can be said of materialism, though, with those who put the gain of further material things over people simply being deficient in a capacity for empathy and usually trapped by their dependence on money and things for personal self fulfillment. Unless the guy meant something else by the word.
