do you hold individualism in high regard, then? i'm curious, how do you reconcile valuing independence and personal agency while also arguing for the draft only a few pages back?
I hate the concept of video game platform exclusives. I always see people talking about how excited they are for new exclusives, and how the choice of exclusives ultimately decides what platform they buy into- but to me it has always looked like an incredibly shitty way to promote your platform.
Hardly a widely discussed topic, but I think that the words 'so' and 'literally' are overused to such a degree that it's becoming ridiculous. It feels like half of all video and thread titles across many popular websites begin with the word 'so'. "So I went and did this thing...", "So yesterday we...", "So my boyfriend and I...". It has no place in the beginning of a sentence without any prior context, and it annoys the fuck out of me.
Yes individualism is an ideal I value, but if your nation gets conquered you are going to lose a lot of individuals and more than likely also lose the ability to act as true individuals not under a strict occupying rule.
I'm still a bit confused
Those views seem perfectly compatible when you talk about an actual, physical invasion of the country. Just so I'm getting this right, you put the state over personal freedoms in the short term, so that the government will be strong enough to secure them in the long term?
As policy, that's fine, but your argument is broader than that, tying it to a person's character and integrity. You say someone can "go to a better place if [they] wish" and "there is only the place you choose to call home", as if anyone who doesn't like their nation can just leave on a whim. No money or planning needed, just leave.
This doesn't make any sense. If moving to a country that accommodates you better is effortless and cost-free, then everyone who would rather move to a place they find worth defending would have already done so, invalidating the need for the draft in the first place, as the population of every country is there by choice. It's a false premise, and an utter fabrication of personal agency where there is none. Travel and housing do cost money. Is that a choice? Does one get to choose the price of plane tickets? Do they have a say in how big an industry is in any given place? Do they pick their place of birth? Their family? Their financial situation? Did you get a character select screen before you were born? If your answer is no, then you're holding some contradictory beliefs in assigning responsibility to things you are aware people were not responsible for, and the fact you're now praising individualism for the personal agency and independence sides of it, makes your points seem even more convoluted when put together.
fluoride is a neurotoxin and drinking unfiltered water is hurting you
it calcifies your penal gland ruining your body’s ability to produce DMT which is what dream states are made of
you dream less vividly the longer you continue sucking on the government tap water
i honestly have no idea if you're just a massive shitposter at this point and it's super intriguing
the inner machinations of my mind are an enigma
If you truly value individualism then you should respect individuals' choice to give up their individual freedoms.
the milk part is more apropriate than you think
where's the ZINGER button for this one!
can you give me a sponsored amazon affiliate link to your favorite tap water filter
Propur Water Filtration
you're welcome man
have any proof
hard mode: can't be from the third world w/ flouride that's about 20x the levels in our water
I also wanna point out that these two statements are super conradictory
? what
aka you don't know what you're talking about
You clearly have no idea whatsoever what a neurotoxin is.
aka clarify then buddy :^)
is it cause i said body rofl
They are being rather rude and non-descript, but what I think they are asking about is how those two claims are related. Because from what I understand (granted I'm not a doctor) neurotoxins don't really have anything to do with calcification
can’t give you proof that US tap water is as bad as third world countries water but I can give proof that fluoride is ruled as a neurotoxin
counter claim is that there isn’t that much in the US water for it to be to damaging but we are only just beginning to see the results
better to be safe then sorry, plus filtered water tastes better and a lot of toothpastes now a days don’t even use fluoride
just something to think about
Do you care to link these "beginning to just see results"
A lot of things are toxins, doesn't make them inherently dangerous. Toxicity is about dosage.
Developmental Fluoride Neurotoxicity
i can find more but I’m at work
A lot of these studies were taken from China, which is sort of a part of that "third world with absurd flouride levels" Lurker was talking about. The study specified high flouride containment. Here's a key paragraph from your study.
Opportunities for epidemiological studies depend on the existence of comparable population groups exposed to different levels of fluoride from drinking water. Such circumstances are difficult to find in many industrialized countries, because fluoride concentrations in community water are usually no higher than 1 mg/L, even when fluoride is added to water supplies as a public health measure to reduce tooth decay.
yes I just said the same thing US isn’t as bad but my argument is that it’s a neurotoxin if you wanna switch things up and say that I’m wrong cuz the U.S doesn’t have that much then go right ahead
the journal even states that they are pushing for even lower amounts of fluoride in the U.S water cause of this
but it’s also bad regardless for pregnant women because it’s even worse for the child in the womb if you drink tap water and mental impairments could occur
fluoride is bad for you but then again anything is bad for you in high quantities, it’s just absurd the U.S is putting a chemical in the water that could lead to mental damage
Thankfully you linked the exact study I expected you to link (since it gets passed around so much) so I don't even have to read it again.
To keep it short:
You didn't fulfill my hard mode requirement, as this data comes from china and iran, with incredibly high water fluoride levels and with people taking in more fluoride from sources like coal.
This isn't a controlled trial. It's just epidemiological statistics, you can't draw causality from that.
The confidence interval is weak and the difference is minimal. The study itself literally says
>The estimated decrease in average IQ associated with fluoride exposure based on our analysis may seem small and may be within the measurement error of IQ testing.
Our bodies directly manufacture and utilize neurotoxins such as nitric oxide and glutamate. They pose no danger to you unless something has gone wrong, and levels rise to an unsafe amount. Hell, sometimes the neurotoxic properties are DIRECTLY good, dopamine directly kills cells as part of a feedback loop for example.
Being a neurotoxin in itself does not mean much.
Also... we're only just beginning to see the results? What? The US has been deliberately fluoridating water for over half a century. We have LOTS of data that shows that it has been incredibly helpful for reducing tooth decay.
There is fluorosis, but few cases are linked to flouridated water and are instead linked to kids fucking up toothpaste (using too much & swallowing it.) And the risks of fluorosis are pretty heavily outweighed by the benefits.
hey but it’s still a neurotoxin that’s the crux of what I said
are you illiterate perchance
nope but you are
? ? ?
